@GodsmackSquad the Nobel Peace Prize was given by Alfred Nobel to Norway as a peace gift after the the Sweden-Norway union so Norway are the ones in charge of that while Sweden handles the other awards.

As soon as Vargas Llosa´s name was announced all people cheering shows how well deserved was this award. Vargas Llosa is not an unknown or obscure author as some of the past recipients are, he is well known all over the world and has made proud all spanish speakers. I waited for years for the Nobel to Vargas Llosa, this was his year. Hope this award makes people from non-spanish speaking countries to take a look to the fantastic Latin American literature written in spanish.
