I hope your tank and fish are ok im sure they will be notho seem to be very hardy fish im sure they will be ok good luck on the algae problem there is so much medicine in pet shops for this problem
Yes i had the same problem i added some sea salt its ok now. I took the wood out as soon it started to come up i washed it with hot water and put the wood in the oven with very strong heat to eliminate it put the wood back in the water and put a couple of tea spoons of sea salt it seems to have worked with no problems. I think it also causes velvet on killifish and salt also protects the scales of the fish and i have had no bad effects on my java moss they seem to still thrive even in salt water
@vassilis359995 Thanks for the comments, actually, the Green Dot algae was there before adding wood, i just noticed them against the dark background after adding the wood.
And coincidentally Just after uploading the video, I did a water change and added 1tbsp of salt per 5 gallon in the tank and I am sure thats going to help tank, the fish have perked up more. that is what i always do if i see some algae and nervous fish in tank.
Record the progress of your tank too by taking pics/vids. :)
Dude i missed your videos im waiting to see new stuff from you. Im gonna start a new tank with Nothobranchius eggersi i cant wait man and my patrizi are doing really well i have them feeding on raw fish from time to time as it gives me a break from hatching brine shrimp. I dont think they eat flake they are more into freeze dried as i also add some blood worm to their diet. My brine shrimp i hatch and keep in the fridge for days and add some time to time.
sorry for the delay in video, I have just uploaded it, the camera was not with me for 2 days.
I now have problem in tank, there is GreenDotAlgae and the riccia on driftwood suddenly has some redgreen aglae threads, going to see what i can do about it. The tank looks very nice according to me atleast.
I tried feeding them crushed flake food today but they spit it back out should i wait another day for them to get hungry so they can swollow it or is there special fish food i can give them??
Try to starve them by giving food only 1 time in the day, Next day, try to give bbs and then crusted flakes , together . they will soon eat both and will know crusted flakes is their food too.
In my tank, only females eat crusted flakes/food and dried blood worms, the males never come up to the tank surface to eat this and stay scared in grass and starve and start going thin :( i hav to feed live food daily.
Yeah i dont use too much as i mix sea water with bottled water and i use a straw to catch the brine shrimp i just noticed that when i started hatching brine shrimp its been growing more but not enuff for ebay hehehe
My java moss seems to be thriving, i was wondering coz im using natural sea water to hatch my brine shrimp does sea water conatain nutriants for plants??? Its growing like mad.
@vassilis359995 yess, sea-water has good amount of TDS (total dissolved substances) which gives good boost to javamoss but javamoss is not marine plant, so dont put too much sea-water in there :D. btw , javamoss actually likes light, maybe you got good source of light too.
its good, if you start getting too much javamoss, don't throw, sell on ebay or something :)
@vassilis359995 thanks for the comments, :) I have two main tanks and 2 fry nano tanks, I don;t move tanks at all. Goldfish tank is big in main hall, this killifish tank is in my soho room. (office + bedroom).
I am planning to sell goldfish fry from nano tanks and then use nano tanks for small planted tanks and sell those nano tanks at good price. :D i hope you understood.
Very nice plants, i want them hehehe we dont have those plants in cyprus , i orderd my java moss online and some other plants for my new tank. The java moss arrived ok they looked brown from the packing and lack of light but the other plants i got rotted down to the roots and smelt very bad so i threw them away but my brother in-law told me to give me plants from his pond to put in there coz patrizi love lots of hiding places so i cant wait to put them in.
Oh and forgot to mention that i moved my tank away from the window

@vassilis359995 now you are entering in tricky phase.

@vassilis359995
takes time, thats why its pricey, the riccia you see floating in my video? its easily worth US$ 30. $5 for 2inch by 2inch patch.
