  • D--O--O--W--O--P IS ALIVE AND WELL IN ENGLAND! TOM D.

  • @david32691 Me too!

  • I've been wanting to hear this song for decades. I had a "Not for sale" demo 45 that I purchased at The House of Oldies in Greenwich Village around 1966 that disappeared in the smoke-filled haze of the late 60's. Soooo good to hear it again. Thanx.

  • I LOVE THIS RECORD COLD NOT REMEMBER WHO RECORDED IT THANKS A MILLION FOR POSTING IT.

  • Saw The Eternals do this some years ago.

  • What a great rendition. I got the original record, thanx to Val Shively.

  • wow!! awesome version..Phyllis..

  • GREAT!!!

  • Oh My God!!! I love this song!!! I wish I had a voice as beautiful as the lead singers voice in this song!!!!

  • wow wow weee

  • This version of this great classic is the best I've ever heard. uptempo, white doo wop, great lead, harmony and great falsetto. Pure gold.

  • I remember Pete Chaston and Dan Guilfoyle in Rochester NY playing this on their doowop show in the 70s when I was a kid and hearing them introduce it. They said "It was a local hit in New York and Philly from 1963, and the group is the Dreamers, Because of You..." and just loved it then..

  • I remember the Cousins Record Store on Fordham Road in the Bronx. Used to drop in many a day when I was going to Lehman College. Remember hearing this on "The Doo Wop Shop".

  • Yep! I had a group called The Five Sharks and we used to hang out at Cousin's and the owner Lou Chicetti always used to play this , by the way the original Barbara Anne was recorded in the basement of Cousin's by The Regents a local Bronx group.

Eddie Black-lead/first tenor The Five Sharks great memories!!!

  • @57Will I Remember Cousins very well. Was up there a few times and bought records. It was also a sports store as well, Modells I think.

  • Actually have this single. Better to hear it online instead of having to locate it in the old milk crate downstairs. One of my favorite fast "doo wops".

  • what a great version

  • Great standard that is done phenomenal. Great lead and rerrific background. Killer falsetto. Thanks once again.
