I took a friend to see you in concert at UNLV in late 2006. A "die-hard" rock fan, she was somewhat skeptical to see a classical guitarist. "Wait and see!" I told her. About 20 minutes into your presentation, she turned to me and said, "My GOD, why did you never tell me that guitar can be so VERSATILE? This guy is FANTASTIC!"

Don Ricardo! It's been years since I last saw you play this piece. Still, no one else comes close. You still are the only one to progressively change the restatements of the main theme. Others play it all the same -- like a 19th-century rondo! Your playing of it evolves as the music progresses, making it so satisfying to listen to. This is the only performance I know of to reflect the music's dignified sensuality.

I, too, am happy to see your long-overdue debut here!!!
