  • i have a 5000mah 7.4v 40-50C lipo and the max charge rate it 2C. how do i figure out how many amps to charge it at? i also have a 5000mah 11.1v 40-50C lipo and the max charge rate is 5C, how , many amps do i charge that at?

  • @toddheap101 5000mah=5.0 charge rate always take only the first two numbers and put a period between them. 3800=3.8 amp etc..

  • @NMdesertracer quick question,Do you charge before or after a run? Thanks much!

  • @lizardmannnn I charge the day or two before a race/run. If your not gonna use your lipos for a few weeks charge them in storage mode. I use my lipos on a regular so I rarely put them in storage. Also when im at the races I charge my 5000mah lipos at 5.0. All the other times I just balance my packs at 2.5 amps. takes longer but you get a better overall charge. I had a team checkpoint charger that uses this type balancer. Its ok but bulky. I have upgraded to a Hitec X4.

  • Hey can someone please answer my question. what is discharge? Thanks

  • i can charge my battery with a PS3 :D

  • I just brought one of these balancers but I didn't purchase the Team Checkpoint Lipo. Is this balancer compatable with Venom Lipos? I know it must be but my hobby shops are Zero help to me, I have been to 3 in the area now.

  • Hello,I bought E Razor 450 and I can not charge my battery wit the supplied charger, any suggestion/ I`m new about this. Thanks.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! THANK YOU. Saved me a headache.

  • I am confused, a LiPo is rated at 3.7 volts per cell (3 cell 3.7X3= 11.1).

What I am confused is a fully charged pack is 4.1+ volts per cell.

I was told never let a LiPo go below 3.0 Volts. So if you set LiPo cutoff at 9.6 volts (so there is some headroom) this puts each cell at 3.2 volts.

    Now here is my question:

Is 3.2 volts too close to 3.0 volts or should I set my LiPo cutoff higher than 9.6 volts?

I run electric stadium and desert trucks.

  • I do believe you are supposed to run a charge/balance cycle after every time you have used the li-po batteries Do both runs at the same time, that is! Remember not to squeese all the juice out of the li-po`s, once you notice the performance drops. Minimum 3 Volts pr. cell, or risk damage. I think 2.7 V is pretty much a dead cell. I do agree that it is somewhat of a hazzle with all the balancing cables and everything...;-)

  • i am a lipo noob i never used them before, do u NEED to balance lipos? can you just plug in the wires directly into a lipo charger with no balancer?

  • please!!!!!!!!!!!!! reply. Can I balance my battery on every charge? thanks

  • @yamaharider90125 yes you can

  • @yamaharider90125 yes you can and should (i have had rc cars for 11 yr and lipo for 5 so you can trust me)

  • How much is that little machine

  • if a charger claims its a balance charger is there a need for a balancer like that?

  • why is this so complicated? mine u just hook the balancer to the extra wire and to the charger and voila...

  • thank u for that info i would have never figured that out

  • so thats how you do it

  • thanka for the info

  • eletric brushless blows nitro out of the water, but look at all the gimmick recharge, balance, discharge, crap you have to deal with. nitro is just add gas and go. no recharging unless your talking about the servo power but that wont go out in 3 hours of use.

  • well put

  • thank you. :)

  • Owning both, I totally agree...it's nice just to add gas and go, but brushless are awesome until you have to add all the crap to it just for a single charge...I like both...just depends on how much I want to piss off the neighbors...

  • yeah but you still have to constantly tune the engine and clean the car constantly, also you can get a decent electric motor for $20AU where as a nitro is about 150. also if something busts in an electric motor there is only one moving part & two brushes. and if you have to good batteries you can run one and charge the other and by the time you run the battery flat and let the motor cool your other battery will be charged.

    I rest my case
