a muzzle break is a piece of tubing that breaks the stream of gas and directs them backwards to reduce recoil... a prime example; the barrett .50 cal - a SUPPRESSOR makes the gun quieter

@drzoidberg223 A muzzle brake has slots or holes in it this changest the direction of gases like criticaboutvids said. it makes the gun LOUDER. supressers make the gun QUIETER.

that's not a real muzzle brake, muzzle brakes are for guns with recoil, and muzzle brakes make the gun EXTRA loud, thhat what you have is a silencer/sound suppressor.

for recoil? because muzzle brakes just make the gun louder, there is non need for a muzzle brake on a .22.

.22 are alot bigger but has lower velocity cause of their big size .177 can travel more then 1000fps cause it lighter check out my video.

sorry for deleting the post they really need to adjust the location for reply and remove. but anyways a gamo bigcat may be able to only up close in the head. it doesnt produce much fpe barely 12fpe at the muzzle and with a 177 that will drop fast with distance and it probably require more then 1 shots even so if you wanted to be humane about it then you probably want something with more FPE.

Thanks for messaging me about this video, I watched, and I have to say it does sound quite. You almost need a before and after video of the sound to really hear the difference. Unfortunately I think those are illegal in the USA cause where I am at, anything that can be removed from the barrel and is able to lower the sound even by one decibel is considered a silencer and therefore would be illegal. I think I may upgrade to a Benjamin Marauder as it has it's own suppression system and more.

Well this is when the "grey area" comes in... I know lots of people that buy and sell shrouds for their airguns, totally legal, because they do not fire from a metallic cartridge, and you do not need a background check to buy them, Just look at the Gamo Whisper, they have no problem telling the world that they have a muzzle break on the gun that will quite the report up to 52%... Now when you go to buy a Gamo Whisper you don't need a BG check, or even need to fill out paper work for the gun..

google discovery muzzle brake and you'll get a lot. this one is a TKO and all you need is a screwdriver and allen wrench. takes like a min to install very simple.
