Could you provide us with an update on when the expected release date in Canada will be? Many of us in Canada have been waiting since October for this. I want to get one ASAP and am willing to go to the US to buy one but I don't want to go through the hassle if I don't have to, not to mention the warantee issues with buying in the US then using it in Canada. Only one question to Samsung: Why do you stick at 16:9 HD format on PC's like this? And why is the vertical resolution of the screen only 768pixel small?
Why not use 16:10 - 1440:900 or (WSXGA+) 1650:1050 ???
In my opinion, the screen is very important, my eyes are staring all the time at it when I would use the device. And especially for Office work, a higher vertical resolution is necessary.

Haha, at 0.36 you can see the screen bezel problem that has been reported on various forums. The screen is flush at the corners, but its raised 2 or 3mm in the middle where the windows button is. The screen adhesive is not strong enough. How the %#¤%#¤ could Samsung QC miss this?

I misunderstood, thought I could pre-order on amazon and have delivery by Oct 2nd, but I'm realizing now that up in Canada it will be only after USA launch.

I am looking forward to the release. What are the difference between the various model numbers. A04 vs A05. Both of these seem to be priced the same but one has Win 7 HP and the other Win 7 Pro. Both have 128GB drive. Does the HP version come with dock and keyboard and the Pro version without these items?

Thanks for the release date, finaly. Unfortunately I can't wait that long without a pc. Seeing how the original available date was supposed to be the 2nd, this makes me think it's not gonna be ready for prime time. There must be some glitches or something. I'll have to go with the macbook air I guess. It's a shame as I really wanted this for my computer science major with an emphasis on development.

Every time it shows someone using the stylus, it is being held like a paintbrush, not like a pencil. Can the touchpad be set to disregard the pressure from resting the palm against the surface, and writing like with a normal pen?
I live in Calgary Alberta Canada and have experience with ASUS EEE and Motion 900 Slates, both are awesome, the ASUS for its performance and the Motion for it's toughness and 8 hour battery. But this looks like an excellent compromise, and I cant wait to test it, but cant seem to find where to buy it, or when. ASUS has been sold out since launch. I'm hoping to pre-order somewhere. Suggestions?

looks like we'll be waiting a couple weeks for everything to get straightened out, especially seeing as the Amazon preorders don't match up exactly with the model#'s and specs given in the Samsung press release (some are mismatched). And none of them say anything about the extra peripherals
It now seems like they have some technical issues with the slate that they can't release it on time or they are trying to fix it before the 2nd so they rather not to confirm the date...
@nickelpro1 No source. That was just my wild guess. Let's just hope that we will see it on Samsung's website after 12:00am tonight. If not, I would really think that there is something wrong with the device and I would reconsider when it actually launches (perhaps wait til the first batch was sold and reviews are out, or maybe there'll be some other alternative by the time).

Haha, at 0.36 you can see the screen bezel problem that has been reported on various forums. The screen is flush at the corners, but its raised 2 or 3mm in the middle where the windows button is. The screen adhesive is not strong enough. How the %#¤%#¤ could Samsung QC miss this?

Is it safe to assume that there will be no product available in CANADA until mid Jan then?
I misunderstood, thought I could pre-order on amazon and have delivery by Oct 2nd, but I'm realizing now that up in Canada it will be only after USA launch.
I'm torn between buying the Motion900 or ASUS EEE immediately, or carrying my 9pound Dell around for another 4 months yet waiting on Samsung. Our company has both of these others, both are excellent. Huge productivity vs laptop+IPAD+paper diary

I am looking forward to the release. What are the difference between the various model numbers. A04 vs A05. Both of these seem to be priced the same but one has Win 7 HP and the other Win 7 Pro. Both have 128GB drive. Does the HP version come with dock and keyboard and the Pro version without these items?

@SamsungNotebook According to your own press release, $1199 A04 is Windows Pro with 64GB SSD. The $1349 A03 is Windows Home with 128GB SSD, and $1349 A05 is Windows Pro with 128GB SSD. Doesn't say anything about accessories in the press release. But since A03 and A05 is the same price except the Windows version, there must be something in addition on the Windows Home.

Thanks for the release date, finaly. Unfortunately I can't wait that long without a pc. Seeing how the original available date was supposed to be the 2nd, this makes me think it's not gonna be ready for prime time. There must be some glitches or something. I'll have to go with the macbook air I guess. It's a shame as I really wanted this for my computer science major with an emphasis on development.

Every time it shows someone using the stylus, it is being held like a paintbrush, not like a pencil. Can the touchpad be set to disregard the pressure from resting the palm against the surface, and writing like with a normal pen?

I live in Calgary Alberta Canada and have experience with ASUS EEE and Motion 900 Slates, both are awesome, the ASUS for its performance and the Motion for it's toughness and 8 hour battery. But this looks like an excellent compromise, and I cant wait to test it, but cant seem to find where to buy it, or when. ASUS has been sold out since launch. I'm hoping to pre-order somewhere. Suggestions?

@nickelpro1 No source. That was just my wild guess. Let's just hope that we will see it on Samsung's website after 12:00am tonight. If not, I would really think that there is something wrong with the device and I would reconsider when it actually launches (perhaps wait til the first batch was sold and reviews are out, or maybe there'll be some other alternative by the time).
