I have lived and worked in two different Muslim countries, read the Qu'ran and many of the Hadiths. 6 1/2 of these are actually hard, proveable facts. I cut a break on number 7. Islam IS spread by the sword and war, but you do not have to convert. You can accept Dhimmitude, a small step above slavery, if you acknowledge the superiority of Islam and obey Sharia (which as a Dhimmi, screws you).
Really, my complaints about Islam have never really had much to do with the women-oppressing terrorism-supporting side (which is a legitimate side, whether you feel it's justified by the Qur'an or not is irrelevant).
My problem with Islam is the same as my problem with Christianity. It is an illogical, faith-based belief system, and as such enables fundamentalism, which has significant detriment to society. And, it offers a way for people to justify things like homophobia and similar things.

To my knowledge, the term "Islamic" means relating to the religion of Islam. I fail to see how it is prejudice or ignorant to refer to people of that faith as "Islamic".

the Bible has been edited. The earliest scholars removed and added some context from the Bible. The real Bible teaches about the one and only God. The thought about Jesus(as) being God is only an ideology of Paul, one of Jesus' apostles. Jesus himself NEVER claimed that he is God. He only claims that he is the son of God.

Care to explain why and how the bible doesn't promote the killings of anyone who are not Christians? Just like the Quran, the bible preaches both peace and war. They are no different than each other. Jesus said for anyone that has not sinned to throw the stone, everyone has sinned, therefore no one is instructed to throw a stone, in Christianity. Pretty straight forward, isn't it. Do you understand what "plagerism" is? The New Testament fully accepts the Torah as it is without edition. Christians didn't try to say they wrote the Torah, or it was their writtings. Christians fully accept the Torah was for Israel, yet we also accept it as being from God. We don't try to pass the Torah off as our writting.

I can give you other examples as well. The fact is, these ancient writtings that Jews and Christians *NEVER* considered to be from God, were incorporated word for word into the koran. These stories pre-date the koran by hundreds of years. They were written by humans (and not God), yet somehow, mohammad thought that the stories were the direct word of allah.

That similarities confirmed that Al Quran is telling the truth. The stories passed down through oral tradition and Al Quran confirmed the truth in the stories. Don't you find it amazing that Al Quran tells the same story in a better way?
It doesn't tell the story in a better way. It tells the EXACT same story. However, all Chrisitians and Jews know these stories are man-made with no inspiration by God. Infact, many of them are Jewish bed time stories.

No one is really in *charge* of Hell. God is in chage of Judging people upon death, and He is the only one who can sentance someone to Hell.
The Bible doesn't really say anthing about who takes our souls upon death to stand in front of God. There are sections that refer to the End Times when Jesus will take the souls of people at that time up to Heaven for Judgement Day, but they are vague and very few.

The koran highly plagerized the writtings of other cultures.
If some of the things look similar, it is simply because they came from the same source - God Almighty...yet if you study closely, Al Quran is more accurate and unchanged.

If you read ancient Christain Hymns (that pre-date the koran), you will see the exact style of poety. Infact, you will find some of the exact same stories. For example. In the koran, there story about solomon talking to his bird. He tells the bird to go to a queen (or princess...I can't remember). The bird *talks* and tells the girl to meet solomon. That story is word for word identical in ancient Christian and Jewish writtings. These writtings were never considered to be inspired by God.
You do not understand Mohammed was illiterate... So even if he memmorised them how did they come up different and in better way to recite Quran? Its like as if our religion evolved. There are several theories of how plagerized writtings found their way into the koran. The most accepted theory among scholars is, the koran continued to evolve long after mohammad's death (there is a *TON* of evidence to support this). Every book written before the prinitng press has been edited to some degree, and most scholars believe that these stories were edited into the koran.
The NT doesn't plagerize the Torah. The NT fully accepts the Torah. That is vastly different from what the koran does. THe koran made up it's own version.

Really, my complaints about Islam have never really had much to do with the women-oppressing terrorism-supporting side (which is a legitimate side, whether you feel it's justified by the Qur'an or not is irrelevant).
My problem with Islam is the same as my problem with Christianity. It is an illogical, faith-based belief system, and as such enables fundamentalism, which has significant detriment to society. And, it offers a way for people to justify things like homophobia and similar things.

As for the myths I did care about, the reasoning behind them sounded a bit too close to "no true scottsman" for my tastes. The fact of the matter is that oppression of women is correlated with islamic societies. And, so is terrorism.
If the Qur'an is anything like the Bible (and I've heard that in this regard, it is), it's possible to justify almost anything through selectively ignoring and promoting passages, from peace to violence.

Truth on this issue of Jesus being a proponant of peace is in my corner and you can't twist or alter it. Do you understand what "plagerism" is? The New Testament fully accepts the Torah as it is without edition. Christians didn't try to say they wrote the Torah, or it was their writtings. Christians fully accept the Torah was for Israel, yet we also accept it as being from God. We don't try to pass the Torah off as our writting.

I can give you other examples as well. The fact is, these ancient writtings that Jews and Christians *NEVER* considered to be from God, were incorporated word for word into the koran. These stories pre-date the koran by hundreds of years. They were written by humans (and not God), yet somehow, mohammad thought that the stories were the direct word of allah.
Tell me, how does that make you feel to know that koran ripped off stories like that?

That similarities confirmed that Al Quran is telling the truth. The stories passed down through oral tradition and Al Quran confirmed the truth in the stories. Don't you find it amazing that Al Quran tells the same story in a better way?

It doesn't tell the story in a better way. It tells the EXACT same story. However, all Chrisitians and Jews know these stories are man-made with no inspiration by God. Infact, many of them are Jewish bed time stories.
If muslims want to consider man-made, bed time stories as the literal word of allah, that's fine with me. However, to a person with a critical mind, that shows the koran is very man-made also.

No one is really in *charge* of Hell. God is in chage of Judging people upon death, and He is the only one who can sentance someone to Hell.
The Bible doesn't really say anthing about who takes our souls upon death to stand in front of God. There are sections that refer to the End Times when Jesus will take the souls of people at that time up to Heaven for Judgement Day, but they are vague and very few.

The entire mythology about the Reaper is western Capitalism trying to market, and make money from relgion. I love Capitalism, and I wouldn't give it up for anything. However, sometimes Capitalism does sink it's claws into Holy ideas (as your Reaper example).

The koran highly plagerized the writtings of other cultures.

The Christian Hymns are not inspired, nor were they ever considered to be inspired. So when you say "they came from the same source", you are mistaken since the Christian Hymns are not from God. They are man made poems / songs used to honor God.

If you read ancient Christain Hymns (that pre-date the koran), you will see the exact style of poety. Infact, you will find some of the exact same stories. For example. In the koran, there story about solomon talking to his bird. He tells the bird to go to a queen (or princess...I can't remember). The bird *talks* and tells the girl to meet solomon. That story is word for word identical in ancient Christian and Jewish writtings. These writtings were never considered to be inspired by God.

There are several theories of how plagerized writtings found their way into the koran. The most accepted theory among scholars is, the koran continued to evolve long after mohammad's death (there is a *TON* of evidence to support this). Every book written before the prinitng press has been edited to some degree, and most scholars believe that these stories were edited into the koran.

I've read that the crescent moon was the symbol of the jews in Saudi Arabia long before the star of David was adopted. The star was put in to let the community know when there was something going on the synagogue. Hope that helps.

That said, I do NOT believe that we are people of "the book." Indeed the heart of Christianity is the Death and Resurrection of Jesus while some do not believe this.

This is corruption within Christianity. Think logically about God. Why would "God" die?, does that make any sense?, God is the Eternal. How can a man be God?, Does that make sense to you? In Islam we dont know anything about God except his 99 Atributes which are mentioned in the Quran. One of them is that he is the Most HIGH. He is the Eternal. If Jesus on whom be the peace and Blessings of God Almighty supposively died, then he cant be Eternal, therefore he cant not be God. Now That us TRUTH!!!

hahahaha, you also forgot to mention that the Prophet (PBUH) was illiterate, so he couldnt write the quran nor read from it. He recited over 600 pages of text and memorized it just by hearing it once (and thats when he said it). Now here is a challenge, at a random moment, repeat the exact words with the correct prouncation from 30 seconds before. Its hard and nearly impossible, now do a books worth.
