  • I AM A DEFINITE FAN-----AWESOME

  • video lesson that is

  • Will you consider doing a video for it?

  • 0:49 - Footage skips. Nice fake..

  • Good job !!!! The Youngsters nowadays need to be schooled on what bassplaying

    really is.!!!!!

  • haha even with the one finger Jamerson hook approach. very nice buddy

  • nice flatwound sound!

  • hey do u think u could send me that backing track without the bass. if u could it would really help, thanks. great playing by the way

  • nicely done! like the single finger technique, too!

  • In my opinion one of the hardest if not the hardest jamerson bassline to learn. Darling Dear was a walking in the park compaired to this bass line. I still cant get the chorus

  • listening to that is reason enough to live

  • what causes that high pitch sound when youre playing g string? ive exactly the same when going through amp->headphones.

  • awesome job man, would u mind helping me out with the chorus, i can't make any sense of the tabs i've looked at, i'm okay with intro and verses are okay but the chorus...

  • Jamerson's sense of timing was in another realm.

  • thats an awesome bass

  • That was beautiful.... a definite favorite...

  • Great job! ;)

  • Dude! Man! Best version I've seen on the net!

You sound like James Jamerson, that's impressive!

  • Nice job, man. Thanks for putting this up.

  • Still my favorite rendition on Youtube.

  • I can't get enough! I come back and listen to this about once a week for the last 6 months. I always wanted to hear the bass line to this when I was a kid and MAN! you are all over it! Thanks so much!

  • I LOVED IT MAN!!! YOU'RE ON FIRE...

  • GREAT JOB! :)

  • yo!!!! nice job

  • Hey man, awesome job. This is the same Jamerson song I'm working on right now. Is there anyway you could send me the track without the bass line?

  • It's really great to see so many of this generation's bassist paying tribute to the great work of Mr. Jamerson, who, along w/ the other Funk Bros., went unheralded for FAR TOO LONG!!

  • BTW, can't wait to see you perform Diana's version, too. I hear that the ending is a killer!!:)

  • Jamersonshook: Do you have a link to buy the japanese version? I'm going to fck up my credit but I don't care. I want that bass!!

  • thats some of the best bass playing ive ever seen!!!

you even got the one finger hook just like jamerson!!!!

  • Awesome work man. Such a great bass line.

I'm doing exams at the moment and chose this song. So I'm wandering if you can send me the backing track without bass. If you can send me a PM and I'll send you my email address.

    Again,

    Great work!

  • thanks for us who grew up with these guys and gals. I wish I could do what you can do, just for one song. talent like yours is rare, please enjoy what you can provide for people, bless you!

  • jamerson is such a legend!!!! but wat band dose he play 4????

  • he played in motown's funk brothers. The studio band who recorded in all of motowns recordings. He was one of a few bassists, but did a large amoutn of work. all great stuff.

jamersonshook: great playing by the way, love the tone with the flats and mute.

  • tha bassline during the chorus is a masterpiece

  • Hey drumtooloud! Everybody starts from the floor and works their way up by using influence from all directions - just like you are doing? Just remember that before you (and others) rush to denigrate others' efforts. Piss-taking arserags.

  • its called 'the hook' dipshit. it's how jamerson played if you know anything about bass its that technique is important for mocking other people's tone. you dont know shit.

  • have you ever watched jamerson play? go watch some marvin gaye's "whats going on." dick!

  • fucking retard lol.

  • hey man... can you send me the tab? i found one but its a lot different of yours... =/

  • Sorry - I don't use tabs, I just learn these lines by ear.

  • great job, man, wish you were here in Tennessee so you could come play with me:-)

  • Jamerson lines are so hard to learn by ear, man. Mad props for that.

  • @jamersonshook

just back from a gig... needed a dose of jamersonshook... wish you weren't across the pound and I could get lessons from you. THE EAR is the THE THING. I read, I'm glad I do. But have to say I'm glad I started playing by ear first. Listening to Motown helps get you some good walking bass lines on keys. Frustrated bass player... pick up my man's sometimes and never want to put it down. Don't have time for 2 instruments. LOVE ALL YOUR VIDS! Keep 'em coming!

  • Oh man, that was great. I love your Pbass as well, I really wish I had the money to spring for the 62 reissue why I was buying my Pbass.

  • Thanks - go for a Japanese version, they're half the price of a USA model!

  • Nice one mate, any idea where i could find a backing track with no bass on it for this song?

  • great and i like ur basses pickups

  • Nicely done!

  • Thanks!

  • what kind of bass is that?

    digging the groove

  • Fender P-bass, looks like a 1962 remake I may be wrong.

  • Yep - a Japanese 62 RI, but with EMG active pickups

  • Oh very nice, is it rosewood?

  • Yes, the fretboard is

  • Up ?

  • Sorry basinfo - I don't use tabs.....

  • ok ... thanks :)

I'm trying to make one using guitar pro ...

  • Hello, your video is very good.

I try to find the tabs, but it's difficult to see what's you're doing because it's fast.

Do you have tabs of your video ?

    thanks

Sorry for french accent ... :)
