  • The only man who can write a book of two hundred pages on terrorism and not once mention islam!

  • @hierostratus only ignorant people under false control and fear of authorities would consider state sponsored massacres of innocent non whites as non terrorist attacks! well now that the PA has been recognised at UNESCO and the taliban have regained control of helmand provinces maybe you should quit ya bitching, you NWO cocksucking hoe

  • @boxermaf

Foul language is zina of the tongue !

  • @ronateau - I can tell that Wnglish is not your first language or that proofreading is not your forte...

  • why do I always get sceptic if I hear chomski? A man of his intellect and standing never takes a clear position concerning the core issues that need remedy like to end the fed and IRS, radical cuts in military spending ending international presence of us troops, support of ron paul etc. Did he still not find out who perpetrated 911 and how they did it?. Always avoiding a clear and outspoken position that names names and points out the ruling military industrial complex to the lesser educated

  • @metropol77 What you just described is exactly what he did a few weeks ago at Tufts. He gave a talk titled "Democracy in America and Abroad," in which he described multiple coups by the U.S. military since 1945 designed to suppress democracy in other countries because democracy means economic competition. He also pointed a finger at the GOP, saying that since the Reagan administration, they have been the political party of the super-rich, without a legitimate platform.

  • so its really exciting to watch the canadien football leauge. its good.

  • I can see he his very enthusiast from his tone of voice...

  • @ronateau Chomsky always talks like that. He will never ever sound any different.

  • whether you agree or disagree with chomsky, theres no debate about how awesome his voice is

  • Gnome Chompski. Now I know how he got his name.

  • Comment removed

  • @qotsa2k4 You mean Chomsky or the gnome?

  • fucking loser

  • wonderful human being

  • In the 1950s, Noam Chomsky developed the Chomsky hierarchy in the field of linguistics; a discovery which has directly impacted programming language theory and other branches of computer science.

  • Look at how many fuckin' books he has behind him. Anyway, I love you Noam. You're the greatest!

  • Produced by the Boston IWW? That's sweet of you to give them credit but we both know the Boston IWW isn't doing anything. The IWW died a long time ago. Occupy everything.

  • chumpsky... fuckin pinko.

  • @mysharona61 Thanks for such an intellectual comment. Your contribution to the rational understanding of reality is much appreciated. It is disappointing to see how deluded you are of the realities of politics. Try reading a bit more before regurgitating the thoughts of other people who failed to think for themselves. You are just a mouth piece for ignorance.

  • @mysharona61

one could say the same for Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter.

  • @mysharona61 your spelling could certainly use improvment there mate, let's leave aside that he's a Professor at MIT and you're bitching on here, he's also a World renound scholar and has added to Linguistics since before your time. As far as financially no, you're right he hasn't contributed mainly because he doesn't pay taxes.

  • @mysharona61: Chomsky's a tenured professor at MIT. You're describing a hedge fund manager. Do you even know what you're talking about? Could you actually explain any of the terms you'reusing?

@Toasty373: Chomsky pays taxes on his salary and his book sales - neither of which are considered capital gains (like the aforementioned hedge fund managers).

  • @mysharona61 Obviously you believe he's relevant since you took the time to write something. With the time you lost writing, you could have been doing something useful, like hammering yourself in the nuts.

  • @mysharona61 First of all, it's impossible to take you seriously based solely on your user name. My Sharona has to be THE lamest song ever written. But that is besides the point. In my opinion, all fall into one of three categories-you are either part of the 99%, part of the 1% or you are in that very special category—

the 1%'s bitch. Which one are you, bitch??????? hahahaha

  • @theMAXILOPEZpsycho if that is your name: You should check out chomsky dot info Chomsky does not want your so called 'big government' AND corporations are a part of the same power structure. Call them 'private' all you want but they are still part of the same illegitimate structure for all practical purposes.

  • @RCWorks if that is your name: Bad day at work huh?

  • Shut up you old drunk

  • I thought Chomsky wants big governement?? I've never heard him talk out against the bankers. NWO shill

  • On 07/07/11, career criminal Mark Andrew Hudson broke into a home, attacked the occupants, stole their car and attempted to extort them through text messages. Contact Columbus city prosecutor(s) Richard C. Pfeiffer, Jr./Robert Tobias 614-645-8940 and tell him to prosecute Mark Andrew Hudson for fraud, criminal trespass/home invasion, assault/felonious assault, felonious theft, extortion, menacing and telecommunications harassment. Occupy the corrupt commercial courts.

  • @AriloeuLaleelae Its true Mark Hudson broke up with AriloeLaleelae (A name one must be vomiting in order to pronounced correctly) She was hurt and made up this story for revenge. Mark entered the house with the key SHE GAVE HIM and that was only to get the rest of his stuff that she hadn't already destroyed. Being butt-hurt is not a good reason to concoct such a deliberately hurtful story AriloeLaleelae shame on you.

  • Chomsky smiled in this video. A rare event rarely seen by humans that usually indicates good fortune.

  • What I notice in American History is about every 50 years we go through an enormous social movement that ultimately succeeds.

1860s- Civil war to eliminate Slavery

1910s- Progressive Era, end to free market fundamentalism, womens right to vote

1960s- Civil Rights Era, activist courts assist country with outlawing jim crow laws and ending segregation in the south

2010s- ... What will OWS become?

Luckily, it seems history is on our side :)

Long live the theory of cyclical reformation!

  • What a joke. This entire OWS. America IS the one percent. America gobbles up everything. All Americans must give half of their goods and income to the thrid world. They are the 99 percent.

  • I see the book "Protesting for Dummies"

  • I'm glad Noam lived to see this. He is my favorite political activist. I'm sure this does his heart some good. He isn't cynical at all about it, and from what he has witness, and is aware of, that itself is surprising!

Don't think I've ever seen him laugh, and actually chuckle on camera. Great Post!! Thanks for this.

  • @mcv47 Noam Chomsky is a famous linguist professor @ MIT and political writer.

  • who are you?! mcv47.. he is a great mind and a good man...

  • Who is Noam Chomsky and why should I care?

  • @mcv47 you don't know who is one the most brilliant men of our time? you're a fool.

  • @mcv47 Google is your friend, friend.

  • @mcv47 seems if you focused more on accomplishing the latter part of your question (caring), the answer to the first part would likely follow...

  • @VIRTLANTIS So, everybody who cares for other people knows Noam Chomsky, and if they don't they don't care for other people? You realize that's kind of extremist right? Just because someone is not as informed as other people doesn't mean they don't care.

  • @radscorpion8 thank you for your reply...seems you misinterpreted my comment...but perhaps i also misinterpreted yours...correct me if i am wrong...with your question: "why should i care?", did you not mean to express that you do not in fact care?...sorry if i misinterpreted...from my experience, these words tend to get used in that way...to express a reluctance to care, learn, etc...as to your comment on caring about other people, to my knowledge, my comment only mentioned you...not others...

  • He'll try to make it? I'm confused, how has he not cleared his entire schedule for this? What is he waiting for the next big protest event?!?

  • @sphires

He is just a theorist, not an activist. I guess he just doesnt care enough.

  • @dirkschuitsma are you kidding?? read up on Chomsky. the man has been arrested at protests. he may be more of a theorist than an activist, but he's done his fair share of activism. the fact of the matter as well, however, is that he's in his 80's. with mass arrests, gas, flash grenades, etc. being set off at these Occupy protests, Chomsky needs to worry about his health first as well.

  • @eboyd32

    True, I was kidding.

  • @dirkschuitsma haha my bad. i'm pretty gullible :D

  • is there a way we can transcript what noam says and have danny mcbride read it? i cant follow along with his soft spoken voice

  • Anyone attempting to unlawfully close a bank account (with any bank) will be summarily refused, unless you agree to forfeiture of your rights as a customer in good standing.

If you refuse to comply with the rules set forth by your FDIC insured banking institution, you may be subject to fines or arrest by local law enforcement and risk losing all account holdings, including but not withstanding the sum total of your cash assets retained by the banking institution, all credit, debit and annuities.

  • @CorporateRule well, that sucks...

  • @CorporateRule What are you serious???

  • @CorporateRule How can you be unlawfully closing your bank account? Can you explain what constitutes unlawfully closing a bank account?

  • @kamakaziRider88

During times of civil unrest, bank runs are a serious threat to National Security.

Therefore certain legal-loopholes [sic- "the fine print"] mandate that all banks and financial institutions insured by the FDIC adhere to and follow the regulatory rules set forth by the Federal Reserve Bank and its subsidiaries including but notwithstanding associated banks whether publicly or privately-held, the International Monetary Fund, all Central-Banks and bond guarantors.

  • Most obvious Christmas gift idea: a book shelf.

  • @Sh1nyboots Ha ha! But that's how writers roll!

  • @Sh1nyboots LMAO, no shit.

  • @Sh1nyboots :D :D :D :D hahahahahaa

  • @Sh1nyboots Another one? I'm pretty sure that he already has dozens of bookshelves and I'm equally sure no matter how many bookshelves you buy him he'll still need another.

  • Evidently, ucritic, I did take your words wrong. Do I understand now that you were mimicking the RW in their undying fear of communism? If so I did mis-read what you wrote. Funny how the RWers love to say we've got the best armed forces in the world without once stopping to think about that. THAT kind of life is true communism that DOES work. Regimented perhaps, but all the same it is a primed example of something they so despise, LOL.

  • @ urcritic: is that all you guys can ever come up with? "He's a commie." "She's a commie." They're trying to make the whole U.S. into a communist state. Yeah, and if Obama said he likes apple pie, your bunch would react with "It's a socialist plot!" Get some new material. Find somebody to help you make up the facts in some refreshingly new way, huh? This "communist crap" is pretty worn out, and the fear-mongering is yesterday's news. There's a critique for ya, urcritic.

  • @maincoonmom Perhaps you replied to the wrong person... or perhaps you didn't read my comment properly. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I didn't call Noam a communist, nor did I criticize communism.

  • Old Commies Never Die......they just keep blathering the same old crap.......hey Noam (gnome),why not move on down with Chavez?? Why not go to Cuba and enjoy the high civilization of true Communism???.....Damn dumb stupid old fool.

  • @rhouser2 At least youtube is anonymous so perhaps one day, if you mature, and you think back to all the stupid cold-war propaganda you're spewing out, nobody will remember nor know who you were (there's always a silver lining!). Anyway, better stop there and let you go, you're probably missing something really good on Fox, like O'Reilly or maybe Ann Coulter is a guest on some show. Toodle-oo.

  • @urcritic *Yawn*.......Notwithstanding your typical boiler plate dopey response.....Noam is, has been and always will be one thing.......A COMMUNIST!!

  • @rhouser2 There's the ignorance again. Oh no! The evil communists! Do you even know what real communism really is? Not the stuff that's been shoved down your throat by a succession of imperialist Western governments, but real communism? Ask your history teacher when you go to school tomorrow. He or she might know if they're not also brainwashed. Anyway, that's besides the point because Noam is not a communist, he's more of a anarcho syndicalist ...Oh dear, yup ask your teacher about that one too

  • @urcritic The "real" communism is solidarity among the people, where wealth is distributed by the people themselves. It sounds great in theory, but people are greedy by nature, you'll have to force them to share their goods. That's where the strong government comes in, and that's where dictatorship will eventually come in. That's why all examples of communism in the real world are bad examples, because not all people want to share, so you'll have to force them.

  • @026SH I think it hasn't worked because the people who've taken power didn't want communisim in the first place. Most have been a ruse from the beginning in order to create dictatorships. Yes greed is part of human nature, but so is adaptation. Perhaps civilization will advance far enough one day, that people will revisit socialist ideas. They might say, "Capitalist Democracies sound like a good idea, but they just didn't work in practice"... one could say the world is beginning to say that now.

  • @urcritic Hail Communism!!! Be my guest........255,000,000 corpses CAN'T be wrong!!!

  • @rhouser2 If you are talking about countries like the Soviet Union, China, etc over the past couple of centuries, that was/is not real communism. Historians and politicians (from both sides) have mislabeled these political systems for their own gains. If I were to get picky, I'd also go as far as saying the US isn't really a democracy either (at least not a functioning one)... but that's a big 'ol can of worms I don't want to get into right now.

  • @urcritic Interesting......You take the largest scale excercises of this tyrannical and bankrupt philosophy and offer up that esentially They Just Didn't Do It Right!.....A standard response from all lovers of the Utopian (and bogus) concept of Communism. By the way, when YOU go to school tomorrow, have someone enlighten you to the fact that the U.S. is NOT a democracy, but a Representative Republic.

  • For all my friends at Occupy Boston! Noam Chomsky agrees with our efforts to make our voices heard. People like us are the reason why the country could reverse course in favor of the people. Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Boston and beyond are the best example of plural democracy in the nation! The people of Occupy Wall Street wish to thank and commend the people of Occupy Boston for your valor! God bless you and may peace be with you always!

  • @VerseInfinitum Quit biching and go do something productive. Its not our fault you have not developed marketable skills. Try not to be a bottomfeeder your whole life.

  • Chomsky is witnessing the third "crisis of democracy" (too much democracy) within his lifetime. I'm glad he's happy; he deserves it after all his hard work.

  • @tstruss912

Too much democracy? Are you out of your god damn mind? Did you mean to say too much democracy for corporations?

  • @mistermoen Ya, I meant too much democracy for corporations. They whined about it in a book called "The Crisis of Democracy". I read it after hearing about it from Chomsky and he was right about how they felt sad due to all the democracy in the 60's. It's time to make them sad again....this is a long time coming, even they thought so. In the book they said that every 37-40 years (something like that) is the average for a popular mass-movement. It's been over 40 years...we're back! hahahaa

  • @STOKKKlD Yep, because I choose not to give the terrorist pieces f shit the publicity they want, that makes me a Muslim supporter....You stupid you tube campers make me laugh with your childish rhetoric. I won't judge you because your'e socialist, but I will make fun of you for your self-righteous indignation about Muslims....Tell me, what makes Christans or child molesting protestants any better? they oppress the same fucking people every day right here at home...I know, cause your'e stupid

  • yea it;s the greedy capilists jews, steve jobs provides jobs and more choices, the jew peddler comes to your town and has uselsess trinkets from all over, the communists stalin faschist dictator works better than the wallstreet oligarchs, late stage capitlism and communism and socialism and faschism are all just feudalism.

  • Dear Prof. Chomsky, I feel the same way. I really hope this movement keeps growing. I participated in Occupy Providence yesterday! Very powerful.

  • i LOVE noam chomsky

  • 1 nil to bowser methinks :D

  • Hmm communism in europe? which countries are communist in europe?

kissing the feet of the royals? I don't think so. i am opposed to giving the royal family hundreds of millions of pounds when the ordinary British working person is having cuts imposed on them, I say it is not I that is subservient but you.

  • Is this Andy Rooney?

  • If #occupy does have a leader i want it to be him

  • Damn, he reads lots of books.

  • @RSN87N - Owning and reading are not the same. I've noticed that a requirement for great intellect with liberals is to have piles of books lying around haphazardly. Being an unorganized slob is apparently a sign of genius.

  • imagine all those years talking about what this country needed and what was going on

and to finally see something spring up like this....

  • @matereymate - It didn't just 'spring up'. This bullshit isn't spontaneous. It is organized by the same dickheads who organize the G8 protests.

  • The Sunlight Foundation found that from 1989 to 2010, campaign funding from financial institutes to both Republicans and Democrats totalled $1,188,664,055. The Center for Responsive Politics also reports that the President's biggest contributors in 2008 included Goldman Sachs $1,013,091 JP Morgan Chase-$808,799; Citigroup-$736,771. For Obama's re-election efforts, 244 elites are directing at least $34,950,000, many of whom are from Wall Street.

tiny. cc/ 3jwqs (put them together to see site)

  • @Ixpatli to say the least

  • According to Jewish historians, Jews were major players in the cotton business during slavery. Alabama: David and Haym Solomon, cotton factor, 1839. Henry, Emanuel, & Mayer Lehman, cotton brokers, and slave owners. Arkansas: Jacob D. Goldman, broker, 1870s. George Rosenberg, cotton dealer, late 1800s, one of the richest men in the state. Georgia: Isaiah A. Solomon, drug wholesaler. There are thousands more. You must read, "The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, Volumes I and II".
  • I hope this guy realizes how wrong he was at some point before he stops existing.

  • @AbeChang2 Noam Chomsky? are you serious? I sincerely hope you have an intellect to back that claim up....because your defaming a man that works for MIT....you know, some the most brilliant minds on this planet? lol

  • GOD PLEASE LET HEZBOLLAH FIND THIS JEW PIG AND CUT HIS THROAT LIKE THE SWINE THAT HE IS . ALL WHITE PEOPLE NEED TO AID ALL ARABS WHO ARE BRAVE ENOUGH TO KILL JEW PIGS AND SWINE LIKE NOAM CHOMSKY WHO IS A TYPICAL UGLY DISGUSTING JEW PIG SWINE LIAR WHO LOVES THE ZIONIST SYSTEM OF OPPRESSION THE JEWS HAVE MADE AMERICA.

  • 1:12 - The laughter of a genius

  • To change Wall Street change the way Congress works Disconnect the two

    To run for Congress, Senate:

Pass a course on the Constitution, operate a business for 2 years.

Free PBS TV channels per dist. provided @ no cost to graduated candidates running 4 campaign message

Campaign contributions no longer needed and illegal - legislators can no longer accept money for anything beyond salary

Housing provided in DC w/shuttle to-from the House/Senate eliminating need for funding beyond salary

  • @Citizenlynch good idea

  • CHOMSKY SMILES

  • Occupy Boston? What about occupy Washington?

  • HEY! Hows the weather out there? LMAO! Think I'll make a pot of TEA and throw another log in the fireplace.

  • This man gives me hope. And some of the ignorant comments take that hope away. People shouldn't be proud of their ignorance - it's what got us in trouble in the first place.

    Ron Paul in 2012!!!

  • Noam Chomsky is a cunt

  • The dude has been wearing the same sweater for the last forty years.

  • @Ixpatli Yes he is. Arguably the greatest public intellectual of our time.

  • Makes me laugh when i see people attacking Naom Chomsky because I know the only reason they are attacking him personally because they can't argue against the points he makes.

  • @bowserdogg

And what points are those? That the govt forceable took over the banks after they forced them to make bad loans then blamed the crisis on the banks instead of the marxist policy of barack hussein obama. What was that famous quote by rahm emanual? "Never let a good crisis go to waste?"

So let me guess, the banks repealed 'Glass Steagal' not the government?

How is that communism working out in europe? Are you kissing your queens feet yet? O thats right, you have been you whole life

  • @LoveBringsTruth are you insane, do you even know what is going on?

  • @LoveBringsTruth good stuff - one thing wrong it wasnt BHO that brought about the housing disaster it was Jimmy carters policy enforced by bill clinton and allowed to continue under bush (probably afraid of being called racist) and continues to this day. BHO didnt start it he just injected steroids into these failed ideas and policies (which IMO is worse) These college kids are tools of the old marxist hippies.

  • @GuamTippedOver Yes....Housing bubble construction 101....Good idea clarifying that...most people don;t want to take history that far back to find the root of the problem, they usually find a certain group to blame and proceed to insulting before it gets to that point lol

  • @LoveBringsTruth Hey idiot...did you see how much money we owe to the federal reserve? did you happen to notice that they have us by the balls?? No, because your too busy spreading silly nonsense. This country is on lien from the Banks, we owe them money, so THEY ultimately decide what happens and doesn't happen, and that goes for ANY president...Stop with the Obama shit like it was all gravy until he showed up and just destroyed everything....Matter of fact...just shut the fuck up douchebag

  • Yeah, it's real important isn't it Noam, just not quite important enough to disrupt your "busy" schedule, you hypocritical fraud.

  • I met Mr. Chomsky for an interview once about 5 years ago, this is his office at M.I.T. and 5 years ago it looked the exact same, piles of books (wouldn't be surprised if their is still a few in there from 2006). Also I believe he was wearing the same out fit lol. A simple and brilliant man! Very inspiring.

  • @ansanity1 good for you

  • @ansanity1 inspiring? What did he say substantively?

  • Great man.

  • sorry I fell asleep :o

  • Occupy Boston by a bunch of losers, spoiled, and useless individuals that have no idea what the fuck they want. Have another Starbucks coffee while you text message on your cell phone.

These fucks don't even know what they message is supposed to be. WOW WHAT A BUNCH OF MORONS.

  • @Camila201138 they're boycotting starbucks. They know what they're doing.

  • We need media attention towards occupydallas

  • It boils down to this: Liberals care about other people; conservatives do not. Conservatives assume liberals are always asking for something for themselves. This liberal is doing fine, thank you very much, but I am willing to pay forward to help my countrymen and make the US a better place to live. Why aren't conservatives? Because they are, I regretfully conclude, defective people at their root. They only understand self-interest.

  • The movement, if that's what one could call it at this early stage, owes much to Noam. He and others have been patiently planting seeds of change for a long time. I didn't and don't always agree with everything they say, but those things do need to be said and considered. The seeds they have planted have been quietly germinating over the years, and now they sprout. Everywhere. and the timing couldn't have been better.

  • This dude is a paid assclown of the banks!

    FUCK YOU!!

If you stay out of it we might get something done!

    Free market!!

    Bankers+prison=Justice!

    Operation ajax?

    Liberty navy ship?

Rome is burning and Noam plays the assclown!

  • I read "Manufacturing Consent" back in the 1980s. Never trusted the US Government since then.

  • Chomsky my main man! Just finished my major paper from one of my pol. science classes - quoted the shit out of you.

  • @Griffinltd - Regurgitating the left-wing bullshit your profs espouse before you fellate them is the essence of a poli-sic degree. Poli-sci is nothing but left-wing indoctrination. Your education is a waste of time and money. Get a job.

  • @MayoMcCheese if you think pol-sci profs are mainly left-wing you have clearly never been near a pol-sci department

  • @MayoMcCheese I have a job. Probably have since before you were born. I agree that some poli-sci teachings come from ignorance and lack of real experience. But so do your comments. You don't know any liberals, or you wouldn't assume that they don't have jobs or want them, many desperately.

  • @MayoMcCheese

    I study la
