hey man, i'm a beginner so your stuff looks good to me! btw "perfecting" chiburi is to look pretty when you take tests, since any sword expert would tell you that those moves would NOT clean the blood off a polished blade. alas, they're worthless (pretty) kata finishing moves. necessary for testing, though.
He's got very good framework, but needs to work on that chiburi and fingerwork. Good poise though. :-) Also the ma-ai for tachi-uchi no kurai is dangerously close, but that might be due to space restrictions in the dojo?
no, definitely not a direct student of his, lol... I'm about 3-4 generations down from him. I believe he's next inline to be grandmaster - I'm sure you've seen it bu "Flashing steel" is a really good read
