  • THE PERSON THAT DID THIS VIDEO IS A GUD VIDEO!!

  • The video is very nice but you have quite a few lines wrong, the translation is as if you used a computer program to do it.......................

  • I'm a spaniard and every time this song plays at parties I feel awkward.

  • I love this song (:

  • Thanks for the translation of this. It makes sense to me now when I watch the video. and the pics are beautiful :-)

By the way thank you very much for your work doing the translation, if you need anything let me know. I Did enjoy and I Do enjoy the song, THX :) JOE que en paz descanses, R.I.P

  • Joe Arroyo R.I.P (Q.E.P.D)

  • I think, despite the little mistakes. It's a great idea for you to translate this kind of songs ;) Congrats! keep up the good work =p

  • when i hear or dance salsa i FEEL FREE.

  • I'm Colombian, (well second generation American with a Colombian Parent). My mom never told me about Afro-Colombians, I just assumed everyone was mixed like us; Native American, African, and Spaniard. What are we? Isn't everyone mixed like us, maybe becuase we are from Bogota? Oh can you tell me where this song is from, we always would play this at christmas and new years. Muchas Gracias

  • @lazy24zzz

Latin America is about +-40% mestizo (mixed), +-40% white, +- 10%black, +- 10%indigenous. The Ratio depends on the country. eg. Argentina mostly white. Mexico mostly Mestizo, Rep Dominicana mostly mulatos.

    COLOMBIA:

    58% Mestizo

    26% White

    15% Afro Colombian

    1% Amerindian

There are more races, but we LATINOS have a common denominator which is spanish and/or our indigenous blood.

    Ok SONG

Rebelion (No le pegue a la negra) by Joe Arroyo

  • @checoavalos LOL. Latin America on average is mostly TRIRACIAL of mixed European, Native American(Indigenous), and African descent. Most Latinos have and are mixed with black, white, and Native American ancestry.

  • @chsn09 im mex and I look dark brown, but my great grandfather was white indian with colored eyes on my mother side. on my father side, all they have curly hair (from Portugal). I did research about black people in mexico and there is a chance that I have black blood as well. when the whites came; 95% of the indigenous people died. whites brought blacks that seem to be a rate almost equal to indians. my question is why mexico looks more indigenous? may be we indigenous reproduced faster.

  • @lazy24zzz Afro Colombians make up more than 30% of the Republic of Colombia. Panama was once apart of Colombia until the early 20th century when France, USA, and elite white Colombians and white Panamanians took and stole it from Colombia abd declared the isthmus an independent republic nation. Panama was always one of Colombia's heavily populated Negroid(black) and mulatto and Afro mestizo departments, states, provinces.

  • @lazy24zzz Most Colombians have African ancestry mixed in them somewhere. More than 50% of Colombia's population could claim to be black or Afro Colombian background based on genetically having and being mixed with African black ancestry. Whites in Colombia are about 20%. Mixed race or mestizo ambiguous populations are about 50%. Native Americans make up at least 1%. Afro Colombians are 30%

  • @chsn09

The mestizos aren't just ambigous mixed people, the mestizo majority of Colombia is predominatley Amerindian and white mixed like most hispanic countries.

  • @lazy24zzz And this song is by Joe Arroyo who was once a member of the Colombian salsa music group Fruko y Sus Tesos. Joe Arroyo is from Cartagena de las Indias, Colombia and the song was a reflection of the survival and struggle of slaves brought to the Colombian Atlantic/Caribbean side.

There are a lot of Afro Colombians in the more Pacific side of Colombia who have certain unique cultural traditions

Revisa nuevamente tu text..!!!!!

  • i'm lovin it. ME ENCANTA! Got me started, voy a ir al meson manana!

  • this translation is a fraud :(

  • @yaramaca I get the song cuz my main language is spanish, but you changed some of th words and its taking the meanin of the song when you read it english

    Negrero=Boat carrying black people (slaves)

  • @NLSJ Thanks for the correction!

  • I love this song and I dont even speak any atom of Latin/Spanish...... I'm Nigerian. Salsa music has so many rich elements of sound.....I am actually in love with the Spanish culture!

  • @pikink it's not spanish culture.. it's latin (not the dead one) hispanic culture.

  • Whoa ! Hommie Get it rite not hatin on colombia but salsa was born in My country Puerto Rico son soo jea

  • @prpknikka salsa is Cuban, originating from a mix of Spanish Cancion and Afro-Cuban beats (Cuban Son, Guaracha, Rumba and Guaguanco) Jazz .

  • Great song Puerto Ricans should sing this song to, cause Columbus brought Africans to our island to.

Love being mixed. Columbia women are hot muah morenas de aya.

  • @Dudex58 Columbia is Canada -_-'

  • gracias por este video, como me encanta esta cancion!! soy colombiana y mi esposo boricua y esta es nuestra cancion favorita!! and yes colombia is known as the land of salsa!! and cumbia!!

  • @colombobogota: In most caribbean countries and most parts of colombia guapo means angry. If you take care of the lyrics, it makes more sense if an angry man revolts/rebels against something rather than a hansome one;)

  • @latindrumming In Cartagena guapo is hansom.

  • @latindrumming guapo means brave or of bravery. It also means good looking in other contexts.

  • Colombia rocks...

  • tnxs so much for creating the subtitles in both english & spanish... tnxs for helping the people born in america who are learning spanish! haha :)

  • i don´t know if this has been already said but "negro guapo" is not a hansom boy but an "angry boy":)

  • @latindrumming guapo in colombia means handsome or gallant.

  • i don´t know if this has been already said but "negro guapo" is not a hansom boy but an "angry boy":)

  • Where do you think salsa went???

  • Me encanta esta cancion!

  • this is th

  • Its actually the Spaniard with his dark soul, its not saying Spaniards with dark souls lol

  • I love my species.

  • That is why I can relate to this song even though I can't spend ten minutes in the sun without getting fried.

  • All humans have the same propensity for suffering and for joy.

  • God dances.

  • Once you learn all there is to learn, you realize that dancing is the answer to the questions you have been spending you time trying to answer. If you are religious, or if you are not, dancing, along with music, poetry, art, and story telling are God, they are the pure gifts we evolved to have. I would like to tell, you my brothers and sisters, a little piece, of the story of human beings, of the story of us my fellow sero humanos, and it goes like this. Dan dan nah.....

  • God wants us to obey him not just dance. There is too much dancing and partying in the world and poeple are dying of ignorance. Jow wants to tell the history through music.

  • Dancing is obeying God. You look for answers in the wrong way.

  • Oh and one more thing KIng David. Joe put these words to salsa music. He did not put them in a poem, or a grafitti, or as a petition, or in a history book. He put them to a fucking dance song. So maybe you should ask yourself why.

  • Its Joe's art.

  • There is a dance messege in the song. But he uses music to send a messege!!! There you go again putting you 2 cents in. Those of you who are giving me a thumbs down have no idea what music is used for. And I know all of you love blacks sooo much. Damn hypocrites!!

  • If you learn to listen to your soul, you will learn to listen to what God is telling you, and not what someone else is telling you that God is telling you. You will get it first hand. Not via the Pope or Pat Robertson.

  • Dancing is music King David.

  • Our history is all over the world. Blacks all over the world has suffered under the rule of someone else. Times are changing now, the truth is coming out. Blacks were once rulers over many lands, so it will be in the end..:-)

  • @DavidOwenWard dude the black leaders of colombia wants us colombians to live as equals and be as one nation ,colombia!

  • Wikipedia "slavery", read the whole thing, and then lets talk.

  • absolut thank you for the translation...

  • I Love to dance to this song and never knew the meaning..Wow. Thank You

  • Samer here. Indeed, now that i know the meaning i will dance with more enthusiasm then ever.

Thanks to this king uploader and his translation. Cheers to all salsa lovers ;)

  • Don't dance, educate yourself about the suffering of all dark peoples of the planet.

  • Hmm, is it not possible to combine both? You made your point anyway.

  • Yes of course....dance!!:-) But there is too much dancing and not enough learning.

  • @DavidOwenWard but but buuuut joe arroyo wants us to dance!he's a legend in colombia and wrote a song about God and wants us to dance praising God too. Even the great black woman of colombia who is not only a defender of blacks but the embassador of colombia and told us to defend our music.

  • Once you learn that, you will conclude that dancing is the only thing to do about it.

  • Thank you for this translation because all the others on the 'net do not get to the heart of this song.

  • @ElMorenoRey16

ese cancion es el mejor ! lol

  • q viva colombia!!!!! very nice............ :)

  • one of the greatest salsa songs ever made

  • I am half black and half puerto rican and appreciate you translating this song. I've always loved it and now I totally understand why. Instead of hit the girl it should be the black girl "la negra" like me.

  • in colombia we "also" call girls negra out of affection. My dad calls my mom negra all the time and my brothers negro even though they are tan skin. i'm the one who came out the lightest and called blanquito every once in a while.

  • lil wayne(Y)!!!!

  • CNN say it !!! Colombia the only risk is wanting to stay!!! Love Colombia

  • i think when it saids "esa negra se me respeta" it should say "You should respect the girl"

  • Easy!!!

    Great song, great video

    LOVE COLOMBIA!

  • fantastic pictures!!! and thank you so much for translating these songs. please keep going at it.

  • this song is amazing it talks about a man standing up for his wife. thats not racism is just that the love story takes place in a time where black poeple were used as slaves.

  • I love this song! thanks for translating...and what beautiful pictures..I want ti visit colombia one day..

  • Its not racist. It is about a time when slavery was the thing to do but the song is about a man who is a slave telling the master not to hit his wife. He stands up to the slave owner. NOT RACIST.

  • great song,great lyrics!Me gusta!!!!

  • thanks I use to hear my parents dance to this but never knew what the song meant. Now I know that is about racism . Sad :(

  • I don't think the song is just about "racism". It's more about chivalry (as a result of love) standing up to oppression.

  • How's this then, it is MY OPINION that this song is more than about slavery or racism. I understand it as a man who is a slave, standing up for the woman he loves regardless of the bondage they are in. It is an example of a man's love proving to be greater than his circumstances.

  • I understand what you are telling me, 0chamaca0. The song is indeed about slavery. And I admit that, before this song that I love so much, I knew nothing of the history of Colombia. It is just that in the lyrics I see the selfless slave standing up to his master in defense of the slave girl. So I see that as a romantic and heroic notion amidst the reality of slavery during the period.

Perhaps I am a fool for seeing hope in this song.

  • This may be a STORY, but is based on TRUE

HISTORY, and HISTORY can't be called RACIST......What happened, happened, and you

can't go back to change it......The Spanish, the British, the French and all the rest brought the

black slaves to the Americas in chains and treated them like animals......That's why in Cuba we have the half black and half white beautiful MULATTAS to make sweet love to......

And even Obama is a MULATTO, and he should be proud of it......Sierra Cuban, Miami

  • Awesome... promote it on

    C-SALSA . COM

    thx

  • Thanks! Yeah, link it to c-salsa, that´d be cool..
