  • Jann Wenner is an idiot. For some reason people think his word is God. There are bands that should be an haven't been inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. He is an ass.. Rush for one..Reeeeaalllyyy????

God, it isn't/ He is an idiot.

  • I think Jann Wenner is an asshole. I know this is about Mick Taylor and he is a musical genius no two ways about it.. A legend. But what about the fact that Rush hasn't been inducted into the R.R. hall of fame"????? WTF??? NEIL PERT?? Mick Taylor is a master though.... Anyway Jann Wenner is a fuck head...

  • Rolling Stone magazine lists Keith Richards has the 4th best guitarist of all-time and Mick Taylor 37th even though Richards himself says Taylor was better.

  • @bertmustin Yeah their new list came out. they moved a bunch of people around. Allman deserved his place at #2 before (but Clapton was a worthy contestant for that spot, so no big deal). yes, Taylor is/was better that Richards, but Keef had his own thing going with the badass rhythm playing. I personally think it should be "most influential Rock guitarists" not "Greatest Guitarists". influential, not great. besides, jazz guitarists are more talented anyway haha. I'm a rock guy though

  • Great solo and song indeed. But hey! Let's not forget the sax player! Bobby Keyes is a big reason for the way this song shines!

  • MickTaylor carried this band in a time when a strong lead guitar was vital. Never got credit due. Keith Richards was simply Mick's joy toy. True story.

  • @THXcooper You are SOOOOO damned STOOPID!

Why don't you roll another Joint; and watch another 5 or 6 episodes of "Beavis & Butthead" ....

    ....DIP-SHIT! ?? !

    GEEEEZE!

Some people just need to be SHOT!....to strenghthen the "gene pool".

    Starting with Fooles like YOU!

  • @swiggy58a Your funny. I guess i hurt your FEELINGS. First of all, as you said, this is not a contest. So why you brought Zep into this ,only you know. And thank there are many differences differences between us. But your 2 comments: nunbnuts, idiots, stupid, smoke joint, fool, beavis&butthead, dipshit, shoot me to strengthen gene pool? The only content in all that, was your opinion of Watts over Bonham. I am sure when you get old enough to have kids that my gene pool is safely over yours

  • @THXcooper Um....you're a Led Zeppelin fan; .....aren't you ?

See.....I never watch Zeppelin videos; just so I can put them down....

...'cuz I don't really LIKE Zeppelin.

But Numb-nuts Idiots like YOU....watch Stones videos....just so YOU can slam the Stones. And THAT is the "difference" between "us".

    YOU think it's "a Contest".

    Ain't no "contest".

Zeppelin was a great "heavy metal" band. Page is a great Guitarist.

Bonham will never TOUCH Charlie Watts; as a drummer!

  • @swiggy58a since you asked, although Watts was a pro that carried any song, more known as a rythem drummer (kinda like Ringo Starr) but to compare him to Charlie is just ignorant. Bonham was way more over the top bust out, innovative drummer. But who cares especially on a Stones vid.dont know y u brought it up. My comment that hurt your SENSITIVE SELF was said in satire, in jest about Mick&Keith's short well known, FAG fling. My bigger point was stating how great M.Taylor was W/stones

  • @swiggy58a Lastly kid, if your just a kid digging on classic rock, Way to go.. Good for you.. But if your not a young kid... Whoa, WOW, grow up dude.. control those feelings that mom and dad obviously never taught you to. This is UTube, u cant take some of these people personal, life is too short.. Keep Rockin kid...lol (i would like to think of you as a young (angry) man growing up like many others had to LOL rock on

  • MT: Guitar Genius

  • if you didn't already know, three songs from taylor and carla olsons '91 show have been posted here and they BLOW THE ROOF OFF!!!!!!!!!!-Silver Train, a 12 min version of Winter, and Sway.

  • @rabudman

Thanks for the kind words, love to see a link to those other songs!

  • @texaswarhawk , i'll send you those links on your page, cant get 'em to post in this comments section...

  • thnks for the post...one of my all time fave songs...i'd heard the song was recorded in one take-no overdubs but hadn't heard about mic improvising the last couple of min...true or not...it's a great legend and i plan to propagate it...

  • note for note one of the most outstanding guitar solos EVER...sounds as if Carlos Santana stepped into the studio and pulled it off.

  • Mick Taylors' first solo album has two instrumentals I want played at my funeral - Mick plays the guitar so it sings as it was meant to.

  • @bustballz RIGHT?!! RS corporate fucks!! Taylor needed out but the chemistry was good with the RS. Fterwards he never got to display superlative guitar stylings in the same spotlight which is a loss for everyone. He seems fnally to have made peace with that but to look at him today, I am sorry to say he suffered for it. I the dude was and IS a technical genius and a soulful POET of the strings. And god so handsome.

  • The stones made a genius decision to take Mick into the band when jones died, but made a fucking equally STUPID decision to let him walk away....Talyor ROCKS.

  • @bustballz Um....you just don't "get it".

Taylor "walked away"....because he WANTED to.

He was a "grown man" then; in his late 20s.

Made his won Decisions; for better or worse. (What's he done since 1975?)

Keith didn't want him to leave. Tried to talk Mick T. out of it; and was seriously hurt that he quit the band.

The Stones (Mick & Keith)....didn't "let" Mick Taylor "walk away".

He was a grown Man; & made his own Decision.

You may see that; if YOU ever grow up.

  • This and so many more amazing solos and Mr. Taylor does not even place in the top 100 best guitarists in Rolling Stone Magazine?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does this guy have a curse on his head or what?!

  • @gotmeinitsway Rolling Stone mag. is a fucking useless rag for morons. Greg Lake wasn't in the top 100 singers and TRaffic wasn't in the top 100 bands either ..LMFAO!! Wipe your ass with that shit publication and that FAGGOT Jann wenner can suck my cock too.

  • @bustballz your opinions about g. lake and traffic are as unrefined as your language. i've got you down for an anti-semite with your remarks about j. wenner.

  • @LanceHelmut shut the fuck up moron. the only thing unrefined it the sound of wenners balls slapping against your huge asshole.

  • "filler album song????????"

  • Mick quit the stones and never bitch about, sad to say never got his full dues!!!!!

  • i saw mick play live at a festival in san diego in '91 and he was fuckin smoking hot, a great show!!!!

  • Best melodic guitar players are MT,E.Clapton and Duane Allman in this business...Oh' Chris Rea too..

  • @tosa275

You're dead on about Chris Rea, can't understand why he never caught on here in the States. AMazing bottleneck player, bluesman and lyricist. In my Top3 of All Time with Taylor and Knopfler.

  • @texaswarhawk Well spoken altho i for one have Clapton as a personal favorite, i know some/many consider Knopfler the better player and i do understand why you would say so, Clapton's blues roots just do it for me the best example would be Old Love @ Hyde Park, where he manages to put so much feeling into both his lyrics and guitarplay making it very special imo, or the example everyone knows Layla written for Harrison's wife, allround i like him better.

  • @texaswarhawk Damn! You sound/write like a "guitar-player".

    Wanna "chat".

    Swiggy58a

  • LEGENDARY..MICK YOU WERE THE STONES!

  • ALWAYS A ROLLING STONE MICK TAYLOR

  • More than a guitarist, he wrote this song, which the assholes never gave him credit nor royaltys for. I like the Stones, but M & K are real into themeslves.

  • Jan , here is MT solo fro m Can't you here me Knocking.

  • Taylor was(is) a great guitar player. His solos had a stamp on them. Mick Taylor is a quiet guy without the "show biz" that makes a band hot. It's easy to think Taylor was a victim of Keith and Mick because of that; he looks innocent as compared to the other two and you get the feeling he wasn't tough enough to make his mark with the Stones, and he gets our sympathy because he was asset musically. Read Keith's book. The facts about Brian Jones are well known.

  • No doubt that Richards was rude to Taylor and probably very jealous of his playing ability, but as Taylor said he felt if he didn't quit the lifestyle would have killed him. The real crime as time goes on is Jagger/Richards cut him out of all royalties so he lives down and out now, (if you can believe the press).

  • The Stones never kicked Taylor he quit. Keef and Mick loved the guy.

  • @MrJerryw08 Thanx. nice to see a positive comment for a change instead of all these bad-mouthers reaching for their 15 minutes of fame.

  • And it's a pity they kicked Taylor out, too.

  • @KurtNemes He quit

  • My all time favorite Stones song.

  • My favorite part of this solo has always been the wrong note made right at 1:09.

  • @shimokita I think you are absolutely right. Mick and Keith are no angels just look at their treatment of Brian Jones. They didn't kill him but they contributed greatly to his death. Why, because they were jealous of him and their fans' love of him.

  • The best by far and that includes you Keith

  • I love the Stones but i don't idolize them. There is more to being a Rolling Stone than playing in the band with them. I believe the reason Mick left was because he felt like an outsider in the group. Keith's feelings about him were obvious when he sneered, "The reason Mick left was because he realized that he was just a guitar player and that's all he would ever be." I believe Keith was envious of Mick's artistry and mastery of the fretboard and treated him poorly.

  • @509Geronimo I believe you are so right, my friend!

  • @509Geronimo: Good comments. I also think that, as nice and charming as Keith is today, Keith was an asshole to Mick Taylor. Mick Jagger and Keith didn't offer him any chance to develop his music with the Stones and, in fact, stole from Taylor.

  • woooow ppl dnt give taylor enough credit he was treated like shit by jagger n keith he was a great guitar player and the stones dnt give him enough credit you all just cnt except it cas ur phony fan heads who think jagger n keith are gods like stop sucking there dicks n learn to respect the music they all played together plus you guys are sitting on youtube masturbating while the rolling stones are making millions and could steal your wives in seconds

  • This sure is MY kinda music. Rockin Latin beat -just love it. Refreshing.

  • What a luck for the Stones that Taylor left. He was the grease drop in the Miso soup.

  • The Stones can be happy Taylor left in peak time. This isn't Stones-Sound. Taylor's the cream in an espresso.

  • @mamagy do not much understand what you mean. being italian, I can tell you that cream is what all conoisseurs are looking into the espresso coffee.

I am doing that in the Stones, and what I end up all the time, is Mick Taylor....

  • @occhioallallocco Italian Espresso has to be black, at least for me. Pouring in cream does bastardize the taste of that gorgeous coffee, makes it common and drinkable for everyone.

  • @mamagy ah,ah,ah! nice comment.

However, you better know what you are speaking about!

Coffe and the Stones and Taylor are religion!

  • es 355 block markers on ebony

  • thanks for posting, great tune!!!!

surely one of the best and most under rated of the Stones.

  • ...which may be wrong. I don't understand being categorical if you weren't there. And I was referring to the overtones of the amp, not the playing style.

  • @shanestt I was simply quoting Homepage.Mac.com/mesaboogie/Boost.htm which

  • I wonder why he left the Stones. The man is brilliant!!

  • @Luarrangel I heard that's why he left the Stones because he was brilliant and he couldn't put up with the idea of being exploited by Jagger and Richards, who took all the credit for the songs and left nothing for him.

  • @Luarrangel

quite simple: he was too brilliant for the Jagger-Richards' ego.

  • Very interesting thought...I just read that Mick was using a very early Mesa Boogie amp on that song, having been turned on to them by Santana....so maybe that similarity to Santana you're hearing is the tone of the amp?!

  • @peacefulruler1 No for those sessions they were using Ampegs and on this song he used an Es-345 which I think that you can see pictured sometime during this montage. A Boogie isn't gonna make you sound like Santana. Santana was using a solid state Gallien Krueger prototype at Woodstock and he still sounded like himself.

  • Stones best song ever coming form their best guitar player" the other Mick" is a genius

  • I heard that this is really Carlos Sanatana

  • @actust uhmmm... no, this is quintessentially Mick Taylor's guitar style. Interesting comparison, I can hear the likeness since MT had that same way of what I would call "breathing notes" almost like they were coming out of a sax the way Carlos also does but no, Mick Taylor played dozens and dozens of gorgeous solos like this on Stones and other records including his own.

  • @actust It's in the "Santana style" but Taylor has a smoother touch than Santana. Santana borrowed that style from Peter Green n the first place anyways.

  • @deadenddude yaeh also unlike Carlos Santana Mick's phrasing is actualy good not the god awful mess Santana's is.
