no need for negativety toward this guy no one got hurt but his pride and his heli it would better him as a pilot to the sport if he had support on this video ! take it 10 ft up to get out of ground effect run as many tanks threw as u feel u need to in a tail n hover and slighty moving the tail out to the side little by little wich im sure by looking at the date of the vid you r probably darn good at flying these now and thats all that matter's i hope you didnt give up!
i think everyone forgot what it was like starting out or having a role model to teach us. i say good job NOUSE and learn from these idiot post though. a place with no trees or power lines or cars, or victims lol is where you should go. get some training gear and take it easy.
Funny that the during the whole video you were tail-in hovering. You went nose-in for one seconf and crashed. Buy a Eflite msr and learn to fly. Btw, not very smart to fly over power lines, and next to trees.
WOW another idiot with more money than brains. I love seen these idiots flying expensive advanced machines when they need an entry level helicopter. I fly a 200 dollar Falcon 3D from hobby lobby. Had a sub 200 dollar machine to learn with. Nice FAIL.
I would say, that if you can afford it, and are aware of possible danger, a 600 class is a great heli to start with. It's stable and reliable. I bought a couple of cheap 6ch rtf helis, and they kept giving me grief. I should have started with bigger helis earlier!
When that is said, I agree that you should be modest in the start of your learning curve, when it comes to "tricks". Sooner or later, you have to let go and fly though!
You cant fly with the heli nose toward you yet. Practice in the simulator a while, you'll save money on parts, and have no down-time with your nice heli.
oh man, if your learning at that stage what are you doing with a 600 N!!!! get your orientations right with a blade 400 or trex 450 and than once you can throw those around, start messing with the bigger boys, all your doing is throwing money out the window. Also I hope you have a sim because a sim made me fly 3d in no time and saved me hundreds if not thousands. ;)
A little high for still trying to learn. Thats the most common mistake everyone makes is rushing into things that they arn't quite ready for and it hurts when you smash it. Give it time, get the basics and it comes.
Best two pieces of advice are join a club so you can get an expert to link in with you so you don't crash, and second is get a simulator. Both have saved me tonnes of cash and disappointment.
Yea stay on the sim dude.

You needed a crash. You could not even hold a hover and pretty much a huge danger to everyone around you

@rockinar too bad you were not there then.

if you generally have a crash with a nitro is the engine, electronics and main frame generally ok ?

Lets see...
Nitro model in a public park - Check
Power Lines Overhead - Check
Lots of Trees around - Check
Learning to hover to high off the Ground - Check
Wait for Mini Van to watch how cool I am - Check
Try to turn and loose orientation - check
And...
CRASH

Two recomendations:
1. When start 3D do it in an open field, try to avoid backgrounds and close spaces.
2. First LEARN NOSE IN HOVER

seriously though dont ever fly this beast over your head it's easier to loose orientation and it can chop your face off

Just get a flight sim. It really helps. Your ready when you can fly your heli no matter what direction it is facing.

NOUSE094 2 years ago 3
My first heli was a Raptor 50 !! the bigger helis fly smoother ... starting out with a 400 or 450 class is the wrong way to do it ...
