Of course Chabad will survive. Look at the Breslovers. Rebbe Nachman passed from this Earth and he is still the Rebbe to many. It's the same with the Rebbe. I can't foresee another Rebbe for Chabad. I'm not sure any one could possibly top him other than like... Moschiach.
Will LUbavitch survive the death of this extraordinary man? I am starting to wonder. He has spawned a revival of orthodoxy, but in reaching out to the whole Jewish world he has broken the bubble of identity w/ one insular community of Jews. I expect a move towards greater observation & faith in the Jewish world. It will be a more modern Orthodoxy.
