Don't mean any offense but my opinion is Brooke is crazy not to have accepted the title, she WOULD'VE been miss texas since she was first runner up. I would not have let that chance slip by me especially if I didn't know whether I'd win or even place in this yrs pageant, that's what first runner-ups do. In that case, why wasn't the second runner up or next in line promoted? If it were me, I would've said something about promoting me to the winners circle if I were next in line.

when Texas won the previous 8 times the first runner-up was not elevated to the title so there is no precedent in Texas with the first runner-up being elevated as a result of the winner getting the Miss USA crown. the Miss Texas USA site still list the first 8 Miss USA from Texas as winners. So no elevation was made.

It is about time that people realize that being blonde and blue eyed does not automatically mean you are beautiful.
