But then Jay Z has released an album a year since 1996, with the exception on 2004, 2005, and 2008. That is 11 albums + 5 greatest hits.
The European market is just as big. Robbie has around 30 million sales on his own, then add take that to his sales and he is way past Jay Z yet he has never sold an album in the USA.

Its probably about double. Jay Z has sold 26 million in the US....and that would be his biggest market by far but noone ever prints his worldwide sales. So presumably his sales outside of the Us aren't particularly impressive. He has never had a #1 album outside of the States.
Oasis have been certified for 70 million worldwide.
But then Jay Z has released an album a year since 1996, with the exception on 2004, 2005, and 2008. That is 11 albums + 5 greatest hits.

The European market is just as big. Robbie has around 30 million sales on his own, then add take that to his sales and he is way past Jay Z yet he has never sold an album in the USA.

I didn't say the America is THE biggest market, I said it was HIS biggest market.
Jay Z, one of the biggest hip-hop artists of all time (I am led to believe), has never had a #1 album outside of the US...I think that says it all.
I am not dissing the markets outside of America. Oasis have probably sold less than 10 million there...and they are certified for 70 million.

All I said was that I didn't think that his being black had anything to do with the fact that people weren't as keen on seeing him. All I said was that that if anyone had a personal grudge against Jay Z outside his music it was be more likely because he's American than that he's black. And u can't deny that there are more anti-American sentiments in the UK than anti-black sentiments. But of 'course the major reason was 'cause it was hip-hop of course.
