Most dentists offer a choice, there is free dentistry for those that require it, and a sliding scale of free to private, and you're allowed to mix and match treatment. Most importantly it's health of teeth and gums first. Better than just private, Obama is offering you choice, how you spend your money.
Actually after analyzing the video, he really only possibly fucked up the lip sync in the beginning. Other than that he did quite a good job. Every artist lip synced in their music videos those days just like they do today. Of course in those days, it was in front of a live audience, and I doubt the quality to hear themselves was easy, so they had to try and make out their cue to sing and stay on beat as much as possible. Either way this is a great song!

The NHS used to cover it but it largely doesn't any more. Also its never been British culture to care how you look especially with teeth. America has a very cosmetic culture which we just don't have. Truth be told: Many artists back then HATED lip-synching!! Some went out of their way to sing out of synch as a good laugh and protest.

@LeChemostron In that case this video is stupid. They are playing in front of an audience (unless it's a laughtrack which would also be idiotic). "We're just going to stand here and pretend to play music. It's what the people want." They could have at least tried to make a real music video.

It's a good performance, but he seems like he's ready to start laughing hysterically and like he's trying to control himself from doing that. He was almost always very smiley during his performances, but it didn't seem like he was about to crack up the way he does here. I wonder what he was laughing about?
