Protip for getting homer: Start a new game playing as the french as they start with a cathedral. Switch your production to science. Research alphabet. Switch production to building, don't research anything else, Make stonehenge. As your culture fills, the game will have very few great people to give you as you have so few techs researched. It may take a few tries to get homer but it took me no more then 10 minutes. If you don't have him after 3 great people restart.

Easier way to get some ancient great people is to start new game with french (they start with cathedral) and to research nothing. After you get 4 or 5 GP its better to restart. I was able to get all GP I was missing, including Gilgamesh, Plato and Homer, in about 30 minutes.

I've played like 10 matches of this and have yet to get any of the four I need. Seems like missing Homer and Agememnon is a common problem, but on top of that I'm missing Vasco de Gamma and Imothep. Pain in the ass achievement if you ask me.

EVERYBODY also a good way to help with this is do beta centari and use the romans because the get more great people and wonders are half of and start with +1 population i think. when ur citys are fully built up and the can build only units set the citys production to only gold so then it wont produce and thing but still make culture. i did this with like 50 citys and i made 3500 culture per turn. i only have to get faget ass homer now

Another thing the video says to do is maybe make another city if you want. but if you make multiple 4 at the most. you will generate way more culture with only two cities im at over 250 per turn when with one city i barely broke 200

i dont kno if its been said yet but if you... Go to manage workers after you have built the buildings you need and set the workers to gold. production should be zero or really low then you have all the time you need to just collect people after i did this i got all the great people.

Cheops always chapped my ass when I had it for PS3, it's going to sound stupid but I tired with Elizabeth and got him right off the bat because for the Monarchy.

@Empire874 try starting a normal game with the french, they already have pottery so all you have to research is masonry, after you do that go to manage your workers and make absolutely sure that you're getting no science, that way when you get great persons you will only have those 2 technologies on you, thereby increasing your odds (although you will still get a few randoms here and there)

@Empire874 This video helped a lot, but I couldn't get my last 3, Cheops, Plata and Sargon. I got all 3 of them in one game after doing this: Start the scenario "It's money that matters" on chieftain with the Greeks. Research masonry, pottery, bronze working and ceremonial burial (to build temples). When research is done, switch to gold production. Make sure you no longer produce science. Use gold to rush things like temples, magna carta to get the culture up like in the video. Hope this helps.

BTW, in the Beta Centauri mode, the game ends after 2424, so you have until then to get your great people.

It's actually better to send the settler unit off when you get it, move it near a barbarian village, then set up your town and kill the barbarians with the infantry you get. You could get another settler from that, which lets you make a third city. With one city, you can max out at about 189 culture per turn and 13 great people, while I made 4 other cities, managed to capture 3 others, generated 909 culture per turn by the end, and got 26 great people. That was the time I finally got Aesop.

The great people are not random, it is related to what you are producing and the terrain around you. However this is a good thing to get a good bulk of the great people.

If you are missing one or two, I would suggest you change your style of play otherwise you will always get the same great people

I was able to get Plato in literally 5 mins for both me and my friend (so I have done this twice and it worked the same way both times)

I started a new basic game NOT SCENARIO as the Greeks (MAJOR HINT: Plato in history came from the Greeks which may help you in getting the person you're missing) I DIDNT RESEARCH ANY TECH and I turned down any trade from other CIV's until 1325 AD when Plato appeared.

This should work, I have done it twice now :)

What you want to do is:

- Choose the Americans as your civilization

- Early in the game, make a city in a place with around 4 peaks(mountains)

- Make sure the workers are set to production

- Keep building as many buildings and wonders at that city

- Switch your government to Communism

- When your other cities have run out of things to build, make settlers and settle them to that city

You should pick the americans for the triple bonus. In some time you'll get the achievement.
