MMA as a sport is not successful. The UFC is successful, but mma in general is not. Most mma venues have gone belly up. Kimbo did help give EliteXC a bit of a following to get it some exposure. Certainly had a bigger flare than Bodog.

Also the ultimate fighter isn't always with rookies... Remember Season the Comeback, was with all former elite pros from the UFC, and Matt Serra came out and knocked out my boy GSP... TUF has produced some good champions, ie, Rashad Evans, Forrest Griffin... The TUF are not rookies, most if these guys have MMA backrounds and have fought for other organizations.... another fact u got to work on homie....

The UFC has most of the big names in MMA and each time we see a title fight it reminds of why they r the champions. BJ Penn, Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida n Brock Lesnar seem to be unbeatable n when you watch the fights 4 the top contender in each division you think they might be able 2 put up an upset when they get the title shot, but you were just naive. Kimbo doesn't belong in the UFC he is a humble dude but man he doesn't have what it takes to be @ the top of any division.

You can't compare Chuck Liddell whose been training MMA since a kid to Kimbo Slice who fought in the streets to some bums.
