  • greatest skit of all time?

  • This is one of my favorite SNL sketches of all time.

  • Dude the first time I saw this I laughed hysterically.I willalways consider this one of the best skits ever on SNL.It is comedy genius. This SNL cast often gets overlooked but I think they were great

  • Christopher Guest's comedy is brilliant.

  • This was still great to see even though the quality is not that great. Thanks for sharing it. This was one of my favorite skits that season!

  • @CaledoniaLady Thanks. You read the description, right! LOL.

  • this is hilarious yet hiighly offensive haha

  • This is my favorite Snl Sketch of ALL time ;)

  • Dude when I first saw this I laughed so hard.Nothing on SNL today can even come close to this. Chris Guest is a comedy genius. "Kill myself with a vegamatic" that is pure gold, pure gold my friend

  • Where can I find more Lawrence Orbach?!!! This far supercedes the low brow bro humor of 'comedy' today.

  • this was one of my favorite skits ever...i love martin short!

  • @viewer31 If you love MS, check out my other uploads....Jiminy Glick, etc.

  • One of the best and most creative skits ever. "you...you...I know you..I know you..."

  • My favorite SNL skit. Thank you ffor adding this.

  • Just glad to have finally found it and added it to My Favorites!

"Hey, YOU! I know you! I know you!" ;)

  • quality is f*cked

  • @spuzzum888 Uh, yeah, very observant of you. Now, if you get your head out of your a**, and check out the Description, you'll see that I already acknowledged this fact, and that's WHY it's still up! I tried uploading a better version, and it was taken down in 3 seconds. So, just be grateful for what's there, Sparky. But thanks for your comment!!!

  • @chalomirof63 this is how tv used to look, it's beautiful.

  • @chalomirof63 - amazing reply bro! check out @spuzzum888 videos...they're about as sh*tty as they get...love the one of the guy's hand recording everyone else celebrating dudes dancing on the ice with little sticks.

  • Oh, this was one of my favourite sketches!

  • 0:41

  • A classic moment in comedy history (except the Billy Crystal part, which is his usual no talent nonsense). SNL Synchronized Swimmers skit should be preserved for history.

  • @Chris..if you ever come across a clip of "the magic shoes" let me know. that shit is hilarious.

  • @dexterriley

    Looks like it's on

Saturday Night Live in the '80s: Lost & Found (2005) rent able on NETFLIX

  • @dexterriley Available on NETFLIX: Saturday Night Live in the '80s: Lost & Found (2005)

  • Do you have John Belusi SNL High School Chess coach ? (#10.5)" (1984) If any one has it, it would be you.

  • @lillback1 No, sorry.

  • Do you have the whole SNL Film Festival? I'm looking for a particular sketch with Tim Kazurinksy in it.

  • @ChrisZ70 No. And pls see my profile.

  • oh man this brings back memories.

if i remember correctly, when this originally aired it was for a special siskel and ebert "at the movfies" mock show. the commercial that was cut off at the end featured eddie murphy as stevie wonder.

The Canon one shot..so easy to use even Stevie Wonder can do it..or somethen to that effect,

  • @dexterriley I think you're right, that the Stevie Wonder Canon parody was on when this was originally televised.

  • @dexterriley it was already a few years old during the siskel and ebert thing. they were reviewing the best skits ever on snl.

  • @dexterriley Actually the "Male Synchronized Swimming" sketch originally aired in 1984, and what we're seeing here is the SNL "Film Festival" re-airing of the same sketch. (That's why Billy Crystal says "I hope the next movie's good.") Siskel and Ebert would periodically have commentary on the "film" shorts. I remember this very well. I remember seeing the synchro swimming sketch when it originally aired in '84 and then again in the Film Festival in '85. (I was looking for a different skit)

  • The song through most of it, and at the 4:15 mark, is "Far From Over" by the less-famous brother of Sylvester Stallone, Frank Stallone. It was an early 80's moderate hit, and I think it was part of some movie soundtrack. But they used the interludes heavily through this video. It does sound kind of like "Maniac" but it's not.

  • 'Hey you, I know you, I know you, I know you!!!!'

  • This is definitely my favorite comic relief!

  • What song plays around the 4:15 mark?? Thanks a lot for any help..

  • @noequalrecords Do you mean at 4:26? That's the theme from "Indiana Jones".

  • @chalomirof63

Nah, thanks though. The song at the 4:15 mark sounds like some 80's rock song...thanks for any help..

  • @noequalrecords Sorry. Maybe someone else will come up with it - LOL.

  • @noequalrecords Not positive but I think it's "Maniac" from the Flashdance movie.

  • @noequalrecords It's off the "Stayin Alive" Soundtrack w/John Travolta from the 80's

  • really? I thought Billy Crystal was pretty unbelievable.

  • @beppo05 Who was your comment addressed to?

  • Brilliant! One of my SNL Faves. Thank You for Posting.

  • Billy C. should be cut out at the end. It just didn't work.

  • @lillback1 I just kept my original tape running, not remembering what was on it! But what's the harm! LOL.

  • I must say......this is one of the funniest sketches EVER!

  • solid gold baby. thanks.

  • The BEST! Thanks so much for posting the WHOLE vid! I have the Harry Shearer "Now You See It" dvd which features this short, but it doesn't have the whole thing and I have been unable to find it anywhere else online...this was one of the first--and best--SNL live shorts. Too funny!

  • LOL! Sorry about the quality, but, as I've already stated, that's why Y.T./NBC kept it up.

  • Harry Shearer is right. Billy Crystal is a ruthless douchebag. No need for him to show up at the end in the audience. It's not fun, Not funny.

  • @md4bush I agree. For every funny clip Crystal has, there's 5 like this--just an annoying douchbag

  • his "Deckwork" at 3:25...

  • Siskel and Ebert hosted SNL later the same season and reviewed the best and worst clips, and when this clip was played Ebert pointed out that he liked that it showed how ridiculous a "sport" synchronized swimming was

  • k, yea, its funny and stuff, but I dont think you realize how hard synchro is. I train 20 hours a week and I'm still not at the highest level. it is pain. and I don't know what sport you do, but if it's hockey, ill laugh in your face. what a fail.

  • LOL so sensitive. Ease up, you're getting worked up over a comment made 25 years ago

  • lol, this was selected as one of the top sports moments in tv history! (fictional of course)

  • I'm not that.....strong a swimmer.....HAHAHAHAHA still kills me. Martin Short was one of the funniest ever on SNL.

  • And you got that little pause between "that"...."strong..."; Short was hilarious, and the Lawrence Orbach character was always my favorite!

  • Very Funny. Haven't seen this in years.

  • Season 10 (1984-85) has always been my fav era of SNL. Crystal, Guest, Short, Belushi, Shearer, Hall, Louis-Dreyfuss, Kroeger, Stephenson and Gross - Fantastic! This sketch is brilliant

  • Thanks "RobboMarx": I needed a nice comment after the one below! LOL.

  • @RobboMarx the best yrs of snl were when it premiered in 1975 til about 1985 because those yrs gave us the legends - Chevy Chase, Dan Ackroid, Bill Murray, Joe Piscapo, John Belusi. Gilda Radner, Jane Curtain, Eddie Murphy. Garette Morris, Larain Newman, Billy Crystal and Steve Martin was a regular guess character.

  • @PCSerialMom Well I think SNL was great right up until around 2004 personally. The late eighties were fantastic with Carvey, Myers and Hartmen. The 90s was also a great decade for the show, especially 1996 onwards. I love everything from the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s. The 1984 season is my personal favorite year however.

  • Hey knickknack - This was uploaded last AUGUST, before I had a Dazzle card!!! Apparently you haven't seen my last SEVERAL HUNDRED videos!? AND.....be grateful this one is up! You may not have seen a comment I made here wherein I tried to re-upload it, but it was immediately taken down by Y.T.! Pay a little attention, smart boy, before making stupid comments!!!!

  • And was that a command!!?? Who the fuck are you to be dictating what - and HOW - another person uploads!? DON'T WATCH IT if the quality doesn't meet your lofty standards!!

  • No no, you're not angry at him. You're just pointing at him.

  • i love the dance he does its priceless!!!!!!!!

  • "I've been directing regional theatre, you know Shakespeare in the Park, for many years. I'll kill myself with a VeggieMatic if I ever do that again."

  • I remember meeting Christopher Guest backstage at a Spinal Tap concert. I told him how much I loved his character in this skit. I was so excited when Waiting for Guffman came out. Way to go Chris for bringing back such an incredible character.

  • I remember the first time I saw this. I was a synchronized swimmer in high school. I love this skit and I have been looking for it. Thanks for posting it.

  • One of the BEST seasons of SNL ever! Great bit, I'm glad it's still up here. I really wish this brilliant season would get the full DVD box treatment that the first 5-seasons are getting.

  • well i assume they'll work their way through all the seasons, though it's going to take some time obviously...

  • It's Corky Sinclair!!!

  • Thanks for posting this!! I've been looking for it for a long time...One of the best ever!!

  • The entire skit is priceless, but my favorite part is the choreographer...I wait for his part every time; to me, the best part!

  • LMFAO

  • Enjoying the hell out of this: Hank, and Martin, and, especially Christopher Guest!

  • Thanks so much for posting this, one of my all-time faves!

    Laughing in Portland, Oregon

  • Amazing it's still up. SNL is a "no-no". But somebody suggested that it may be because of the lousy quality. (I tried reposting a better version, and within seconds, it was taken down!!! LOL). Glad you're all enjoying this.

  • oh my god thank you! 3:25!

  • is anything more hilarious than this?? "Hey you...I know you"

  • Everyone has a dream. This video proves that you need to just go for it!

  • And they're so 'GOOD' at it!! LOL. I love Lawrence Orbach's character; so hilariously weird. Cheers.

  • Comment removed

  • I had this on video - hilarious! That season on SNL had some great regulars.

Christopher Guest's character here, reminds me of his Corky St. Clair in "Waiting for Guffman".

    Thanks for posting!

  • You're very welcome.

  • This sketch aired in 1984, just to help ya out.

  • Thanks Skeeter.
