I am looking to replace my Champion and there are a few things that are very important to me.
1. I want to juice up to a half gallon without taking it apart and cleaning (my champion can only do a quart tops without needing to be de-clogged)
2. Juice greens well with little foaming, low speed
4. I love the concentration of the Champion juice. It's potent and full flavored. The Breville spinning juicer my sister has produces a thin and watery juice. Which I don't like.
After much research on what juicer to buy your video provided the final bit of information I needed. I am now the proud and happy owner of a VRT 350 HD. I thank you for your video as I was going to order a Breville and it wouldn't have met my needs as well as the Omega VRT 350 HD. Sure appreciate your input on this decision.
I love how John gives a play-by-play. It's like watching a sporting event, LOL.
I bought my VRT 350HD from discount juicers. It rocks for everything except apples. I'm like a mad scientist in the kitchen, now. I started experimenting with crazy combinations. Beets make the most beautiful juice so now I almost always add them to whatever I'm juicing. It's also surprisingly fun to use. I wasn't expecting that.
well, since I plan on juicing leafy greens & like how quiet the Omega is I'm sold on one of those. Good review. I don't see how 6 people can dislike this. Very detailed and good examples juiced!!
It is not designed or sold to perform that function. I would not recommend it. I would reccomend you blend up your soaked almonds and then use a nut milk bag to extract the liquid.
The breville is not designed to process soaked nuts. The Omega VRT juicer CAN process soaked nuts into nut milk . That being said, you may want to consider the Soyabella which is a dedicated nut milk maker if you make lots of nut milks. Its alot easier to clean than the VRT.
NO YOU CANT i have the breville for a year and would not really recomend it. it starts to develop tiny rust spots on the juicer and tiny rust spots on the where he took out the mesh that grinds the stuff up. cant use wheat grass on it I almost destroyed it by doing that! sucks on greens, your wasting your money if you do it on greens. for the price of this thing it should be a better product but its not. if you get it buy a second screen cause that crap is hard to clean.
I have both...butI love the Omega a LOT more...it's super quiet, I love the low speed...and it's much easier to clean than the Breville.
Juice tomatoes...and you'll see the difference...just like on that video.
The ONLY advantage the Breville has is its opening feeding mouth...you cut less veggies and fruits. While with the Omega...you have to cut them into smaller pieces...but other than that...no comparison...the Omega wins hands down.
Wow! This was a well thought out informative comparison. I was thinking that the Omegas would take too long to work compared to the centrifugal Elite. But it's not that much different when you figure you're preparing a meal. I'm glad you Omega vertical because I like the smaller footprint compared to the 8005. I'm glad you explained the oxidation factor. That sold me on Omega. Thanks
Great video, really shows the difference between a high speed centrifugal and a slow speed pulverizing type juicer. IMO there is no one juicer that is the best for all fruits and vegetables (or nuts), that's why I have the Omega 1000 and a Omega 8006, best of both worlds.
I'm confused now because I really wanted a juicer that makes the juice without any pulp left behind, i wanted it as liquidy as possible, like the juices we buy at the store without pulp, so I thought finally the Breville 800jexl is the one, but then I notice all that foam and loss of nutrients because of all that high power and oxygen. So now which one would you recommend for me? I want one thats not that noisy, I want it fast, and definetly no pulp in the juice and easy to take off and clean.
@kimkrisrich 10 yr warranty w/ higher quality juice the vrt is easily the better way to go.. i was def convinced after seeing the quality of the tomato juice w/ no froth/foam crap to deal with then i saw the pulp from the vrt w/ the greens, what a better extraction you get w/ the vrt..its a no brainer w/ these two..
I imagine you could just put a fine sieve over the juice cup and it should strain out as much pulp as you want it to depending on how fine of a mesh that is used.
It's incredible how the Omega people have figured out a way to essentially chew the greens and extract the most nutrients. It does the work so your body doesn't have to. Biomimicry at its finest. Even the pulp bears a striking resemblance to human waste. Not trying to be gross, just making an observation :)
I got a Breville and its a great juicer. I'm sure there are better ones but you gotta go with what you can afford. If your juicer works for you and you're happy with it...great.
Depends. The HD parts will the the LATEST version of the VRT330. Older VRT330 models will need to get a new bowl so it will fit the HD screen. Other parts are interchangeable.
SOLD!!! This is one of the best juicer comparison videos you have made John, and I love all the demonstrations! Thank you so much for videos and your attention to details such as warranties, pulp, and fruit and vegetable varieties. I can't wait to get the Omega VRT350HD after reviewing this and other videos to help with my decision. It's almost like buying a car....well almost.
@Soldier0117 My tomato's always have a very rich red color when I juice them in my Breville, I have no idea what happened here.
I own both the Vert 350HD, the Green Star Elite GSE-5000 and the Breville, I dont want to get rid of either one. The Breville is my main one because of my juicing style. I juice a full days worth, then put a vacuum on the storage bottle, then store in the Frig.
of all the juicers you sell which one would you say juices leafy greans the best? hands down. i have a jack lalanne juicer but i want a new one. so many to choose from
I'm having decent results using a modified plug/flap (free flow). I use it when I'm juicing leafy greens and/or soft produce only, which would otherwise clog up the system. It does however give me less juice (not much of a difference tho), but it's totally worth it.
What I like about the Vert350HD is that I'm able to store the juice in the fridge, in an airtight container, with a minimal amount of visible separation and/or oxidizing. Depends on what I juice, tho, but generally speaking I don't see much oxidation even after several hours. And it's very quit.
It tends to make a little bit pulpy juice, which I think is ok if u aren't on a juice fast. If u're juice fasting u have to filter it for optimal results.
To cut down on foam: A tip I got was to add a tiny bit of good quality olive oil when doing greens in the auger (VERT) juicers, and it does work! The taste of the juice was the same.
@rawfoodnoob I meant during the carrot juice off. I typically get 2-4 more ounces of juice out of my Vert by doing this, depending on what I'm juicing..
awesome juice off! we own both and the comparison is so true. this is why we got the Omega Vert 350 two months after having the Breville... but we love em both
John, can you do a video on how to clean the juicers please? I have a Jack Lelanne, but I'm considering getting a new one that'll juice greens better like the Omega. I don't want to buy a juicer though only to discover it's a pain to clean (like my JL).
On several of the videos where I demonstrate the juicers, I show or explain the cleaning process. The Omega 8004/8006 are the easiest to clean, and take me less than 2 minutes to clean. The Omega VRT350HD takes me under 4 minutes to clean. If you have a specific request, let me know and I will add it to my list of videos that I need to film.
@rawfoods John, I've watched your other cleaning videos for the Vert, but mine seems to get a lot of residue buildup on the inside of the bowl on the outer edge where the auger sits. A kitchen brush doesn't seem to remove it. I though about getting some steel wool type of scrubber, but I am afraid of scratching the plastic. What do you think?
On the residue build-up, I reccomend soaking the part in a mixture of hot water and oxyclean. (search for my other video on "How to Deep Clean and Get Stains out of your Juicer") on One of my customers uses a "magic" eraser to remove the stains. I would not use steel wool as it will scratch.
I have an omega, its my first juicer and its great. I juiced spinach and carrots last night ^.^
