I've never understood why americans use H2SO4 for drain cleaning. It corrodes the pipes ect. like hell in the long run, and that's not only the pipes in your house. If anything, use Na. Still polouting and caustic, but not like this.

@donnelrj01 A mistake on my part. NaOH of course. The drain cleaner we use here, also includes a few other ingrediences, but it mainly consists of NaOH with a pH of 13,4.
