First, educate yourself in political science from any reputable source other than Uncle Bob and Pastor Jim. Diplomacy is key to advancing any agenda, you don't automatically fucking point guns at every ally and foe. Soft power (economics, trade agreements, etc.) has accomplished as much as any war has without the negative repercussions.
We were the heroes of WWII and the Cold War. But now every political action we make will be met by opposition and suspicion.

Secondly, I'm assuming you're a red-blooded Republican. Did you know the government is providing welfare to Iraqis (OMG)? After the recent security gains, the Muslim militias we've been paying to stand guard will not be disbanded (EVEN THOUGH THE MILITARY WANTS DISBAND THEM) because there aren't enough civil jobs to go around. But if we stop paying them, the enemy insurgents will hire them back, so we have to pay them to do effectively do nothing. It's welfare. It's Bush government.
