Would still much rather travel on a Boeing vs. Airbus. Given the Airbus European expertise (fAir France 447); and the Boeing's still (pilot can still take control). I'll take Boeing. I rode Airbus once. I've been on Boeing's ever since.

It's very rare for the A380 to land on this runway. I wish it did more often (I live right under the jetpath for this runway)

Were they going slow enough that they didnt use reverse engine thrusters on engines 1 and 4?

@Krazykid000 The A380 has slower approach speeds than say a 747 so it does not need reverse thrust in the other 2 engines

@masericha1 That's not quite right - because the engines 1 and 4 on an A380 hang very close to the edges of most runways, any use of reverse thrust would kick up a lot of debris (FOD) and could cause damage. The approach speeds can vary depending on all sorts of factors. Reverse thrust on engines 2 and 3 is more than enough to slow down the aircraft.

Because the outer engines are fare away from the fuselage and there is possibility for them to ingest something from the edge of the runway.

A lot of people put down the A380 but one thing is for certain she always attracts a huge turnout when ever she visits an airport for the first time and people just can't help but be taken with her.

I was in Terminal one when this flight came in on Monday. what make it better was it came and parked next to the Lufthansa plane that I was on. This is my second time seeing this Emirates A380 and it always give me the chills. Saw this exact one at JFK last summer. they discountinued it into JFK to bring it to
