  • when u have to play the G string 12th fret i always bend the E string 12th fret with my index finger. its so hard to not bend it =D

  • @lbsmrbrb1 Definitely same thing as I thought about. :D

  • Well it's not hard to concentrate

    it's hard to learn

  • @TheMetalcrypt once you get the riffs down its really easy. its just a bitch to play because you have to stretch your entire hand across the fret board

  • @TheMetalcrypt this deserves to be a top comment

  • flea é o melhor e sempre será

  • Damn i like playing this song on bass but I never knew flea uses only two fingers, i always use my thumb to strike the low notes.

  • @ionnieboy

lol yes, it's something we bassist/guitarrist use to do

  • My favorite love song. Bass line is beautiflul! And it's too hard to play T^T

  • Anthony said that it is originaly written by ramsy, and cover by somebody else. but i cant find it

  • @pedrofich it is as much by rammstein as brandy is written by the sex pistols. never occured to you that anthony could be joking onstage?

  • @manicExhibitionist

mayby but i could not heard so good what he said, and im not so good in english.

  • it's funny how he always says; it's simple x) .....

  • When I can play this bass line, my life will have meaning

  • hey guys, can anyone help me out

what are the bass settings (middle, treb, bass, gain) for this smooth sound?

    thanks :D

  • @TheMetalcrypt .... uhhh right now he's unplugged. but other than that, just fiddle around until you find a tone that you like =)

  • @TitaniousGrubbs

well i know, you got tat one right

I meant on the original Sound... and i'e fiddled around too much, and came up with nothing, that's why I asked here.

  • @TheMetalcrypt You're not gonna be able to replicate another person's tone. It helps no know what you're looking for in your tone though. Every amp's knobs are the same 1-10, 5 being the standard. If you set anything lower than 5 it cuts out that frequency depending on how much you turn it, where anything above 5 gives a boost. A lot of your tone also comes from your fingers and your own personal technique. All I can tell you is just start from scratch and find something you like. Best of luck.

  • Dude that baseline is nearly impossible, and he plays like he invented it (*irony)

  • LA BESTIA DEL BAJO!! TERRIBLE BAJISTE!!LEJOS EL MEJOR DEL MUNDO!

  • phew, that's kinda a hard bass line to play. Always impressed when I hear adn see him play it ><

  • yeaaahhhhhhhh !

    (Y)

  • wohoo

  • i wonder what it's like waking up in the morning and knowing you're flea

  • @lbsmrbrb1

"i wonder what it's like waking up in the morning and knowing you're flea"

It's probably something along the lines of "Man, I sure am a sucky musician. But who the fuck cares? I make millions! MUAHAHAHAAAAA!"

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer i think he's a wonderful musician who should be proud of his work

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer i cant tell if you joking or being an arrogant prick

  • My hero.

  • i started playing bass when i was 7 because of this guy. Im 14 now.

  • @parkourfreak27 and can yoy play like him=

  • @dnnysrock NO FUCKING WAY

  • @dnnysrock I can.

  • @minmisaloser Why don't you post a video then? Try covering something simple, like, Can't Stop or Stone Cold Bush - some of my fav RHCP songs.

  • Flea changed my life.

  • No effects, not even an amp. Still sounds better than I ever will

  • thanks

  • man, im so happy i get to live in the same century as these guys

  • aww someday someone will sing this song to me

  • can play this now, awesome song, and flea is such a spring of inspiration, got me into bass and inspires me alot. shaking his hand would be a privelige. he's a good man

  • nice to see tht flea still uses musicmans :P

  • omg!! i thought that was the guitar playing xD

  • @Koolikoo holy fuck me too. FLEA IS BASS GOD END OF STORY

  • @ivebeendirt i'll agree on that! [=

  • @Koolikoo

    haha so did I

  • damm thats hard one!

    FLEA IS A FUCKING TIGER

  • that was beast :p

  • Go play that song on bass... It helps build strong fingers; at least for me I guess. xD

  • @Gabichami6428 i'll take that advice too, thnx! =D

  • ottimo giro

  • this man is my hero.

  • so beautiful.

  • He's da bauss

  • Hmm. Ok so he wrote the bassline, yet it looks to me like he is playing it the hard way :s When I play it I hit the E and the A strings with my thumb and the G with my 1st finger. Ah well, thats just me

  • @Numlocq

Does flea ever do anything the "easy way"? Thats why I idolize this guy. Im the same way, i perfer the hard way of doing things when it comes to playnig my bass.

  • @ makkaman

Well yeah I see where your coming from, but why purposely play things the hard way when you can play it the easier way and risk messing up less and not have to concentrate as hard (Lol how appropriate) then you can do more with yourself on stage

  • @Numlocq. Because if you play the hard way, when you finally nail the song you will be happier as you've did it the harder way, playing the hard way does make you improve alot. :)

  • @andybremner123 Well that's fair enough for average bass players...but there ain't really a whole lot of room for improvement in Flea's field of bass playing. He is pretty much top of his game in my opinion :)

  • @Numlocq

It's a different sound both ways, and Flea I guess wants the punchy finger sound.

The thumb doesn't get the same pull, it's a bit muddier.

  • @Grapphinos yea and he probably doesnt think its the hard way anyway

itll all be piss easy to him either way hahaha

  • Flea is my hero!

  • your mom is a show

  • @ecowarrior123 learn english. then comment in english properly.

  • not everybody lives in america or Great-Britain or any other english-speaking country, so for many people up here english is only or second or thirt language. So don't be such an asshole..

  • @flipproost but this is an english site. and pretty much western based. soo if your guna comment make it understandable

  • what does it bother you if someone comments in another language, just ignore it.

  • get this guy an amp! sounds good

  • best bass player in the world

  • When you have a bass player like flea you don't need a guitar player. Frusciante is such a perfect fit because they compliment eachother so well.

  • @orangequartermusic and vice versa! too bad john left=/

  • @orangequartermusic you always need a bassist AND a guitar player in the band, because they don't sound that good alone, they NEED each other for this fantastic sound, in every case

  • @DrDoener1 Death From Above 1979?

  • @orangequartermusic complement, not compliment. 2 different words

  • @orangequartermusic you always need a guitarist... they just compliment songs and help them flow so much....

  • @orangequartermusic As always, depends on a style. Flea wouldn't replace Grindcore, death metal guitarist nor would fit in the band.

  • @orangequartermusic And they complement each other, too, which is really handy.

  • hes awesome

  • he is a beast

  • class

  • what a beast

  • flea!!!!
