if u are trying hard to preserve ur equipment one big thing u could do is dont use starting fluid that is the #1 killer on diesel engines if it wont start off pony alone then dont start it clean ur filters and clean your injection pump and if u cant do that then dont touch the damn tractor and standing between the tracks and engine that is setting a bad example for others so many people die like that
Ive 2 D4 7Us that still work on the farm regularly. 6000 hrs each, elec start on pony, run well, start easily, no ether required. Thanks for the show!!!
We have a TD 9 crawler, new rebuilt engine, needs tracks. D4 cat with pony motor, ran well when it was parked 12 years ago, and a D6 cat that needs 4 links on each side of tracks.
These crawlers move a lot of dirt, even though they are old. One day we hope to get the parts needed, so we can use them..
Those were the best dressing machines I ever ran they had a good balance, plus they had a good length, I ran them for Curci brothers along about 1965 on Hallandale beach Blvd. in Hallandale Fl.Those were the good ol days!!
Well,it's great to see that someone is taking care of some of those, when scrap was going for so much last year I watched them drive a cat off a trailer and out into the scrap yard,I didn't have enough to save that one.
Thanks! We are trying hard to preserve our equipment, but could always use more donations to help keep things running and more hands to help maintain, restore and operate the equipment as well. Sounds like you are a little far away to volunteer with us, but if you are ever in our area, please stop by. I would be happy to show you around! And that goes for anyone. Visitors are always welcome!
Thanks! We are working hard to keep these old machines running, but we can really use more hands and more donations to make more startups like this possible. Vistors and volunteers are always welcome. Please see our museum website for more info.

Any pointers on restoring one of these? I know where there is one potentially for sale on the cheap and I'd love to get her running again.

And while we are a museum, we still use our dozers for what they were intended: pushing dirt! We hope to have the D6 join our D7E and our D8 soon!
