I think a main reason why Playstation 3 fell behind in the console sales is because sony kept advertising the ps2 and its games. They should of did what Nintendo and Microsoft did and move directly on to their new consoles instead of still focusing on the old, no matter how much of a success it was..

I would just like to point out, that if you compare the 360 and the PS3 from the respective launches, the PS3 has sold better. An extra year is the only reason the 360 is ahead, compare from launch and the PS3 is four million ahead. The 360 had almost an identical start when it was launched, the PS3 has just taken off since Christmas 2007. The Wii's just in a league of it's own, it doesn't even count.
