HE deserves so much more recongniation. Like alwawys people arent going to appreciate him as much till he is gone. He is just as good and deserves all sorts of awards!
@rickheyes0 Alan Parsons :) He was the guy responsible for bringing in Clare Torry for her performance on Great Gig in the Sky, built the whole album and shaped into the form we all know and love. NERD i know.
Unico!!!
I've heard storys about how Dave played at the Author who wrote Hitch Hikers Guide to The Galaxy funeral a couple years back (forgive me for not knowing the name of this great author), and it was one of his most saddest and powerful peices of music he had ever done and no one had ever heard him play the licks he was playing before. maybe theres a vid out there.
WIKIPEDIA: The song is based on a night Gilmour spent on the Greek island of Kastelorizo. It segues into "On an Island", the title track. The song received a nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 49th Grammy Awards[1]. The song was nominated for the same Grammy Award again at the 51st Grammy Awards for a performance from Gilmour's Live in Gdańsk album[
ACTUALLY...im not doubting the point that there may be an island off the coast of greece called castellorizon, though for some reason i doubt arionas1, but first, the song has no lyrics, its instrumental, and the title comes from castel la rosa(SP?) which means red castle...gilmour talks about being there and conceiving the song on the remember that night dvd
castellorizon is a tiny island in my country greece and its too far ,like it's "alone"..I dont know if this help about the meaning of the song,i havent read the lyrics...but just too know this information, gilmour lovers!
Hearing this song brings back vivid memories of when I saw Gilmour in concert. It was the first real concert I had ever been to and it was amazing to have it coming from Dave. The show was 5 April 2006 at at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. A night that I will never forget. <3
This was the opening song and it was the beginning to an incredible evening.

Thats a bold statment. I love guilmour but you cant say hes the best. He has reached the maximum level any muscian strides for. But to say hes the best in the world is a matter of prefference.
then stop taking pills while listening to pink floyd, also try not to do it when you're sad... go for rammstein when you're down and for the pink floyd high when you're feeling good
Got to love a stratocaster
