I've listened to Waylon far more than any other country singer. " Waylon is country, and "COUNTRY IS WAYLON!" No richer, steady voice can surpass this artist, the greatest I think country music has ever witnessed. This particular song ( Oklahoma Sunshine ) my very favorite and my dad's very favorite Waylon song. His music will always reign supreme in this Colorado boy!
i lived 14 years in oklahoma. i moved back to arizona, my 'home', a year ago, and took my vacation to, where else ---- oklahoma. i was at at a friend's house, saying my goodbyes, and this song came on. it was a sunny hot green summer day, and this brought me to tears.... i miss you oklahoma.
A good country song performed by one of the Best Country singers of all time, damn Waylon I miss the hell out of you! recklesscharlie thank you for taking the time for the upload, I loved this song from the first time I heard it in the 70's, and time has done nothing to diminish my appreciation, Waylon, others are bound to come along, but to me you were/are/ and always will be the GREATEST! R.I.P.!
I grew up in a house that was musically diverse. I don't listen to country but, my Dad did and this is the stuff he listened to. The crap they call country nowadays makes me appreciate the depth of writing and meaning of the outlaws and the like. This is one of my favorites.
My Wife's Favorite Waylon tune, and I have to admit, one of my favs as well!!! . and both of us being Oklahomans, we do know about that Oklahoma Sunshine..thanks for posting it
Being a native Sooner, this is now one of my favorite sings. Never heard it before. Thanks for posting it. Long live Waylon Jennings ! Wish he would have taken better care of his diabetes, but guess that's askin' a bit much of the "Original Outlaw." The Outlaws hit it big when I was working as a bouncer in Oklahoma City in the largest honky tonk in the state. Talk about heaven on earth. I met my beautiful wife, going on 27 years now.
I had left Oklahoma for Wyoming when this song first came out. To this day I wonder whatever happened to that blue eyed girl that I left standing in the Oklahoma Sunshine
A few months later he would record "this time" . His first # 1 single ...
2 years later he would produce "wanted: outlaws" .. The first 'country" album to reach platinum. I bet the Nashville establishment hated that day... Heh!

Brilliant Song indeed. Country music misses Waylon and others like him.

Wasn't it just god damn great that a lot of us lived during the Cash and Jenning's era.
It seems that when they left a part of America went with them.
