  • This is so helpful for my History class about the Lawn mower.

  • My old Iron horse still has that "rope with a knot at the end" system...Not too bad for almost half a century mower

  • old gay man nigger lover

  • this is gay like u

  • interesting but not useful at all

  • One point: Way back in the 70's Tecumseh had a wind up crank starter. You would set the latch - and wind up the spring. Then release the latch.. and it would un-wind the spring. Nothing like the new bread of starters. And also: STIHL Has perfected the easy start system. Over 1 million sold and less than .01% warranty claims.

  • @tsaw1583 I know that its a year later....I had one of those wind up crank and sometimes the latch wasn't completely "locked" and when you started to add a load on the spring, it just spun with a crunchy-grinding noise

  • Interesting, i remember my dad having the old starter ropes, .........

  • id stick with a single action starter less parts to fix and buy i have a 42 cc poland that has with a single action starter and a poland 35 ccthat got a double action starter the 35 cc has broke alot and the old 42 cc will work every day and anny day

  • i got a double action and the one before the double action one you said and that requires a ball starter clutch or something like that so the double action is crap actually because they break are are really hard to fix and then you got the one before that and those are more easy and cheaper to fix and better
