@retro9Anime I used Spanish as an example because it's more closely related to English in that the two languages have similar origins and share a majority of characters and sounds. If English-speakers read Spanish, they have some idea of how to read it and possibly an understanding of its meaning. But Japanese is totally unrelated to English in its origins, reading, and pronunciation. So, Why would a bunch of English speakers vote up your Japanese comment if they can't read/understand it?

@TKMSeznam12 Yea, there are plenty of lost anime freaks out there who come to Japan simply for anime culture, which is a tiny part of the actual culture of the country. A lot of them end up being teachers in Japan and sit inside their apartment secluded from the country they thought was all about anime because it's not all about anime. To each, his own, I guess. I watched Dragon Ball in high school, but I don't ball myself up in my apartment. I get out and go to different types of g2gs, too.

On the flip side, I work in int'l marketing, and for some reason the Japanese people I work with seem to think that most foreigners are knowledgeable and interested in anime, manga cosplay etc. I try and explain the same thing but in reverse; the people who are really into that stuff are a very small fraction of the American (I'm American) population, and many adults still don't even know what "cosplay" is.

Otherwise, people just think Japan's full of Dick Tracy watches and androids that help around the house. lol  Now we've drift kids (which I wouldn't mind trying) getting interested and the dudes that drift are a micro community that goes against the grain of everyday Japan dwellers as much as the anime/manga/cosplay communities.

I keep reading these comments where people claim comedians jack other people's jokes. Does that happen often? Isn't there some sort of copyright rule for that? Just curious. When I hear a good bit and hear someone say it was stolen, it's a major letdown.

@FreeCapital @MPtheDonn @usamoneyso People comment all the time saying stuff was stolen, but they never give links or references. Some topics lots of comics talk about (airports, funny commercials) but they didn't steal any jokes from one another; they are just talking about a common subject. As far as the Laugh Factory comedians are concerned, lots of our videos are from our archive. I can tell this was taped before 2010, so it probably predates the College Humor sketch.
