I think it's wonderful when people can find others that are so like-minded, where they can speak w/ passion & excitement & no inhibition. Their respect for ea other & for their craft & the story itself is so astounding & refreshing, & it makes me so incredibly happy to see 2 men have such a close friendship. There's too much stigma these days around certain relationships- guy-guy friendship being one. It seems like you have to be a complete jerk to your "friend" or you'll be considered "queer".

Robert Downey is a LOT older than Jude Law and, in my opinion, a more talented/seasoned actor. I mean, when he played Chaplin it was pretty amazing. I don't think Jude Law has the depth or breadth of skill to do that. Downey's so modest though, it seems he's very admirative of Law but it's probably - or should be - the other way around.

@jujujujuparisxx I disagree. I don't think Robert has more depth. He and Jude are different. I can't see Robert doing some Jude's films, and vice versa. Can't imagine Robert as Inman at all. Robert has a smartass smug quality that's hard for him to shake, and while it works wonderfully in some films, it doesn't work in all films.

@jujujujuparisxx Plus, sorry to burst you bubble, but Downey is NOT modest. I'm not downing him for it, I don't think he has to be modest. But I've seen interviews where he pretty much says "I'm it right now"....that's not modesty. I do think he's thankful, though. But not modest. Uh uh. I like him, though. There's nothing wrong with him stating how he really feels about it, because I'm sure he knows that next year, he may not be "it" since fame is so fickle.

I mean, that's part of his charm, he's just so blunt and straightforwards... in a teasing humorous way. and he's even funnier when he fakes modesty cos he really lets it on as a big fake! LOLOL! I've been a Sherlock Holmes fan for two years now, and have always hated how Watson is falsely portrayed as old, fat, and an idiot. He's only Holmes's senior by two years, is handsome and great with the "fair sex", and is intelligent. Bless Jude Law for setting it straight; they both did a wonderful job with making the movie entertaining and giving justice to the books.
