  • 1. Thanks for the Intro.

    2. We ALL know that if this song was on Kareoke, we'd sing it.

    3. Next time you're in a pub pissed...not that much noise going down...slowly coming to a close...stand up, proud, look over to the crowd and sing: SOMETIMES I SIT YEAH! FEELING ALONE.....NO ONE TO TALK TO, GOT NO, TELEPHONE.....etc....see how many people join in. And if they tell you to shut up then, fuck em, fuck em all to hell!

  • @Jexington80

yeah im all with you there

  • Boon and Eddie Shoestring......quality! Great theme song by Jim Diamond too.

  • The early years of this show where boring, but it became fantastic around the time Neil Morrisey joined as Rocky. Quite a few actors appeared in this 'before they where famous'. Wish they would repeat Boon on ITV today!!

  • @lintburn last seen dismembering germans haha

  • Loved this theme tune.

  • Loved this them tune.

  • Ah...the pre-shite era of television. I remember it well

  • @TomthatiscalledTom

very well said sir... is all shite now ! This was class

  • @TomthatiscalledTom - no era was free from shite

  • @MrSyrett I never that. Of course there was crud on the box years ago. But back then there program-makers had at least some faith in the intelligence and discernment of viewers. There wasn't the assumption that viewers will instantly turn over if a) actors are a bit plain looking b) the script isn't written with semi-literates in mind c) the plot isn't formulaic and aimed at 'key' audience groups

  • @TomthatiscalledTom To be fair, back in the 80's you had a choice of 4 channels where now you have countless channels plus the internet.

Program makers nowadays HAVE to target their programs more sharply to certain sectors of society, because of the wealth of choice available.

Of course that's no excuse for the slew of reality / talent tv we've had over the last 10-15 years but it's a fact of life.

Don't like what's on TV in 1986? Tough shit.

    2012? Change the channel.

  • @MrSyrett true. but back then, tv was golden. childhood for many of us in that era was so simple and free spirited. Times have changed, everything is digital on an industrial scale, a whole can of world wide worms have been opened, we have grown up, and its nostalgia that sparks off rebellion.

But life goes on.. and at least we have these videos to keep breathing in that wonderful nostalgia :)

  • what happened to these great times tha we all once had

  • From the days when every monday morning was an adventure!!

  • R.I.P Michael. Alcohol got him in the end but he's a sorely missed character!!

  • @killerwelshman YOUR SPOT ON BOON WAS TOP DRAW MY FRIEND

  • all it takes is one phonecall

  • used to love this intro song as an 11 year old back in 1986. i was never allowed to stay up late enough to watch the whole programme, but used to try and catch the intro & the first few minutes before having to go up to bed!

  • @Nick7575757575 how comes you was never allowed to watch it, i didn't think it came on that late? i use to watch it and i think i must of been about possibly 8 or 9 at the time, a truly great une to a great series

  • Good times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • r.i.p

  • Is that an early Mark Knopfler Guitar solo ?sure sounds like one of his

  • I LIKE THE A65 BSA !

  • jesus christ this is a brillant theme tune, its so long since i last seen this, i forgot neil morrissy was even in it!

  • Shame the demon drink got a grip on the great Michael Elphick.....RIP McGowen.;-)

  • This theme song was sung by Jim Diamond...a hit in 1986.

  • @woodster1965 jan 12 1986 the show started.

  • I loved this series!!!

  • Loved the show but now I see it again what's with the box camera - it's the 80's

  • I disagree the theme tune is good but the show was cack

  • Sweet Jesus.... This is frigging blast from the past.

I always remember this being left on whether mum was watching TV or not. And it was one of the extensively more promoted shows of the time.

    To be little again.

  • Who can remeber this?

  • neil morrissey was so young in this lol

  • The 80s gave us some excellent TV before all this stupid PC shit came in.

If Boon was made now, the lead character would be a black woman and her accomplice would be a lesbian chinese woman with a submissive husband.

And the only men in the show would be bumbling, half witted retards as per the latest remake of Minder. In the new Minder the black female detective played a bigger part than the two supposed stars.

Elphick's best role was Mcgowan in Auf Weirdesehen Pet.

  • @HennoGarvey .Very True. Hollyweird and The Liberal PC Machine have destroyed T.V and movies.

  • @joeycusack80 on Monday at work, we were told to head into the meeting room where we were shown a patronising DVD about how dangerous fire can be in the workplace.

Every single character on the DVD was either within the ethnic minority or gay.

I have nothing against either. However, why do people feel the need to ram left wing crap down people's throats at every single given opportunity? Considering that the BNP won a shocking amount of seats in 2009, the approach obviously isn't working.

  • @HennoGarvey .Yes the Liberals sure do like to ram their agenda down peoples throats. They have the nerve to accuse anybody that does not agree with them a fascist. In my opinion this is why T.V and movies are complete shit nowadays. I watched about 10mins of "Scrubs"the other day, all the "Men" in the show are incompetent wimps and their are ruled by their "smarter" Women. Thats, Feminism/Liberalism for you

  • @HennoGarvey lol

  • Comment removed

  • @HennoGarvey I'm asian and i advise you not to cross a equality or diversity trainer, they are bastards.........I remember someone telling me, my former manager that he once told a equality trainer that he could not understand a west Indian man because of his accent...the trainer came down on him like a hammer????............understand?

  • @Indul1 I do understand mate, the very notion that people who are not white and british must be overly sensitive and so easily offended is both offensive, assumptive and patronising to anyone from a non caucasian bloodline.

It's not black people, asian people or any other ethnic group making these assertions or assumptions but white middle class men and women who rule the television networks and government posistions.

Actors should be chosen for their credentials, not their race.

  • Who is singing this song?

  • Jim Diamond.

  • I was in this show just 1 episode i steal rocky's bike.

    terry

  • @terryjohn If that is true, then your name on here is just a username, because the guy who played the character that stole Rocky's bike was not called Terry.

  • @BoonFan No chris p

  • @terryjohn So are you Chris? or Terry?

  • @BoonFan Well who says chris was my real name.. ..well that was some 23 years ago. filmed around ,feb 87 as the snow was there. ..

  • @terryjohn No offense meant mate, was just curious is all. Had a lot of messages from people saying they were in Boon who all turned out to be lying lol. As I said, no offense. You played that part well.

  • @BoonFan no problem.I Quit actorin in 1995.. load mine .if you can.

    terry

  • RIP Michael Elphic. You legend! Watched series 7 & 8 on Men and Motors late in 2008 and early 09. Have just started watching the re run of series 1 and now 2 also. It takes me back. Loved the birmingham stuff but answer me this, did Michael lose weight in the 3rd or 4th series as he looks alot healthier and young in the newer series'!!! (May be that the switch of filming from film to tape made a difference!) God Bless ya Boon!

I used to love this show when I was younger, hard to believe it was around 86-92. I was 14 in 86.

I've been catching some re-runs on Sky telly and I have to admit we had some great TV drama back then, no mobile phones anywhere, haha.!

It prompted me to do a little web search on the show and I had totally forgot Michael had died in '02.
