THIS MAKES ME LOVE THE FACT I'M IN BAND EVEN MORE! THIS IS SOMETHING I ENJOY LISTENING TO MY SCHOOLS' DRUMLINE DOING AND I AM SO PROUD TO BE IN BAND! I LOVE IT!! <3<3<3
@tennesseevolfan111, you just have to adjust. I'm in band and we march along to a beat when playing a certain candence that just a smidge slower than that. You just have to move your feet with the beat and march as quickly and well as you can. Believe me, after the first year in Band, marching gets so much simpler, lol.
I liked it, it was pretty good but the cymbals gotta do more lol they made all cymbal players look boring. They could have at least flipped em or something. Well I shouldn't be judging though, for all I know they may be new.
I am fucking JEALOUS of that quads player in the black, I'm fucking JEALOUS!!!! I'm going to be starting my junior year on the quads (hopefully), god I can't wait!
@JessOnTheRun your just a big jerk without a soul and i am 100% sure that you couldn't play a single cadence to save your LIFE!!! so don't go ranting on others that you obviously don't even know.
I am also very sure that you have nothing better to do but sit here and find terribly wrong ways to insult the people who work hard at what they do.
thats not a cadence a cadence is about dynamics that is just a bunch of sensless pounding not dynamic level changes at all check my drum vids on my chanell ill have more 2marrow also
@deadlymassacre1 Cuz matched gri[p on marching snare is gay. It looks way better, backsticking with matched grip looks completely stupid, i feel bad for marching snare players that use matched grip cause traditional looks bad ass
@deadlymassacre1 Traditional does not suck. You're a moron! You have better controll with traditional, and it's easier to play more challenging licks.
@Breazeale93 Please don't insult people unless you're sure of what you're talking about. Traditional is actually more difficult than matched, theoretically. However, both are capable of playing the same licks on a snare drum, with the exception of some visuals. As far as notes you could play the most difficult passage in matched or traditional considering you were capable of using both grips.
yall are really good. i was a bandie and are drumline wasnt anything like this. we had a tenor player, a snare player, 4 bass's(three of them girls) and 3 pit playa's.
how come out of lke the past 5 videos i watched 4 of em' have had the snare playing match. where im from we all play traditional. and good job guys, just got kinda repetive sounding.
that was class, good work kids..screw those who give you shit their just jealous and probably alot older and never had the skill you all have, You would be a good edition for st.Patricks day in Dublin ireland.
ill forgive the discipline....obviously just having fun. no problem there. however....someone needs to fix those quints. im pretty sure they arent supposed to point towards the ground...
ok...give us a break we were already playing for an hour and we were tired. i play cymbals and yes, the cymbal part for all of them except for the first one suck...no offence lol. but seriously...give us a break we are a bunch of high school students just trying to have fun.
Snares blow. I'm in 10th grade and I'm easily better then all of the snares and the tenors players, but i play the tenors so it makes sense =) no hard feelings....
Yea, i just saw your comment about some playing traditional and matched grip, i wouldnt blame that on the players, that's mainly the band directors fault, Our band director said play matched grip, But im way better and traditional.
Lawlzz I just uploaded a new video of me just playin some warm ups, take a look if you wish.
Sorry to post a negative comment but, that was not that great. It was way to easy. you should add some rudiments and hybrid rudiments to spice it up. also you should also get some orginization. line up in a line or a half circle because then the visuals are seen alot more clear. i know that I have said alot of negative comments but you have alot to work on. some positive comments are that you all seem like very good drummers and with some small changes you can become an awesome drumline.
Hey also, I forgot to ask earlier, but what kind of heads do you guys use on your snares? We used to use Renissance heads at my school, but we recently switched to Black Carbon Fiber heads (most badass things in the world)
where do u see tape on their drums? cuz if ur taking about the black things on the basses, its probably not tape, but velcro to hold on pads for when you are practicing inside
dang our teachers never let us play marching battery percussion in our band room. we can play stuff like the tru snares and the bass and the set but not the marching snares and the tenors. no matter how "quiet" we try to be. opelika middle school and high school has carpeted floors so sound is absorbed. i like the tenors in this video. i never could play with them facing down. plus they weigh 65 pouns. i would prob sit them down and play if they were like tht
holy crap, I was in the band 6 years ago and we played the same cadences. You guys still better be playing Time Warp from Rocky Horror too (along with the mandatory pelvic thrusts)
uh you guys who are giving the tenors a hard time give them a break i mean i know allmost everyone in this movie personally and there all damn good musicians and anyone who thinks they are bad can just g2h.
and the cymbals look bored......well its because theyre cymbals its not theyre fault its a boring part.
garrett this is a good movie allright dont listen to anyof the bad feedback
this is awsome u guys are the shit i am a sophmore at waynesville high school i play the snare and last year played the bass is there anyway i could convince you to trade cadences id really like the music to this or atleast the mario theme im willing to swap music or do a trade for it
(I'm the shortest snare there btw) what do you meen lean forward? like rocking back or forth or what. and we did play mario. I think they are positioned forward just by the way of the harnes but im sure.(srry for spelling errors)
i gotta say that they are obviously playable cuz that guy is playing the shit out of his quints and actually some judges like the quads like that because itll muffle the sound if you have a large drumline and a smaller band and also they can see the sticks better... just my 2cets
at first i thought the tenors might just be leaning forward. . . like the actual person playing them. but then right around 3:00 to 3:30 i realized that they have them purposely leaned forward. and why? idk. cause all that is doing is helping them resonate directly towards the ground and sacrificing sound.
as far as the snares playing matched grip. . . i have no comment to that.
Actually I'd move to Hilliard. And go to Hilliard Darby. We've placed 7th and 8th in WGI Worlds in the past two years. Btw I'll be playing tenors this year as a freshman.
Well obviously lol, i just didn't know how much the band program was given. But yea our director is really sweet, Jon Merritt. Idk if you've heard of him but he works w/the Glassmen and he's just a really good teacher. Marched Cadets a few years
