short, simple, sweet &well done! you can even hear it-in desi's voice-whether he's singing to lucy directly or not- he truly loved her..thank you for sharing!
@fjitb He sang it on Johnny Carson I believe. I remember seeing it ona documentary Lucie Arnaz did of her parents. I remember seeing it then, and how touching it was. This is the first time, I've heard it since that documentary.
@LauraVanVleet yeah I saw that special she did on PBS I think in the mid 90's, first time I've heard this since then as well. We probably have to buy the whole special that was done, but not sure where to find it.

I am a guy and I got tearey eyes. It shows A Great admiration and respect for two people we really didn't know personally but felt we did by watching their shows. True love was there and even the fans felt and seen it. Even when divorced she always said he was the Love of her life and She was his.
Everyone Knows He Cheated On her but she 4gave him for it, and that's not an easy thing to do. he apologized for it, and later he figured out what he did wrong. Then On The Phone She Said"Desi I Love You, And I always Will No Matter What", Then He said Lucy I Love You Too And I'm Sorry for What I did". See Love Really Can't Be broken if it's true it was broken but they still loved eachother very much. R.I.P Desi Arnaz. Sincerly,Shady
OMG Desi sounds so sad when he sings this. He even sounds sad when he laughs at the line "Sometimes we quarrel...", almost as if he wishes that they could have made up and regrets doing some not-so-great things that ruined their marriage. *Sigh* Well at least we know that their both in heaven, together again at last.
i love this and it makes me cry to think that they're gone now...but at least they're together....the way he sings it is so touching and he sounds kinda sad..maybe this was after the divorce....his second wife was unhappy because she knew that she was second in line behind lucy even though they divorced
Wow, I can't believed they showed them kissing in bed! In the earlier shows, they had them in twins! lol How long did the show run? TV sure did change a lot while they were on.
Yeah, a lot did change! The scene shown in this was from one of the first episodes filmed...before Lucy had "Little Ricky." When her pregnancy (on TV and in real life) the TV censors decided that their beds, which were actually twins pushed together, should be seperated. They conveniently had a "redocrating" episode just before Lucy told Ricky she was 'spectin' : ) haha
I may be wrong, but I believe he sang this during one of the late night talk shows. I just like to imagine he was thinking of her while singing...hence the title.
he is because that sound came out of the "Desi Arnaz remember5s Lucille ball", and once he said he wouldn't sing it to no one but his daughter(Lucie) and Lucille Ball.
Yes, I think he sang this version on Johnny Carson sometime in the early 80s. It was definitely many years after he and Lucy were divorced - that's why he chuckles after "sometimes we quarrel..." He never stopped loving her though, that's for sure. Nor she him. "I love you, Desi" were the last words she ever said to him over the telephone just 2 days before he died.
what's the episode at 0:13?
