People who make viruses are just plain assholes, they could be ruining kids lives, in particular those who save up money to buy there own, and seeing as some don't have virus protection, they click on stuff they don't know about, then one of those viruses can stop them from accessing any programs, any built in security stuff, and won't be uninstalled by the creator unless they give money for a certain product the Virus ridden ad was asking for.

@lame2cool lol there are different types of trojans... common ones are weak as hell but I can guarantee you that I can make you one that'll infiltrate and destroy your comp (or at least piss you off). Good trojan viruses will carry files with worms in it. Simple stuff and for those who think it's impossible: ZIP (or rar) THE FILE -.- It takes a minimum of 3 hours for a worm to eat out of a rar file (the weaker ones that only eat your data).
