  • I loved this show growing up and Mr. Dressup was always lots of fun and i just loved the way he drew pictures i wish i could draw like him RIP Ernie Colms (sorry if i've spelled his name wrong).

  • One of the best kids shows ever. Most kids shows now are mixed with non whites and sexual perversion.Bring back the old stuff and take your Jew crap with ya to HELL

  • oh my god I actually managed to forget I watched this show, but given how young I was and the fact I can still hammer out the exact tune here... just proves how great this show was xDD

  • meeting him when i was 6 was a defining momnet in my life :p

  • I was always upset as a kid when i saw the train go into the tunnel, it meant i was watching the outro and missed the show.

  • @spxmet indeed

  • Wow, watching this brings back so many, many childhood memories. I loved watching this show as a kid. You wouldn't be Canadian if you didn't watch this show as a child.

  • @darthsugi89

Or else growing up on the better side of Michigan/Ohio; there's a few yankees who remember this.

  • I bet you Mr. Dressup animated this, it totally looks like his drawing style!! RIP Mr. Dressup!

  • I find it sad we don't have shows like this anymore. There was also a French version, Bobino, which was just as moving.

  • It's funny how as a kid this intro seemed completely normal. It's so strange and quirky. I love Mr. Dressup.

  • I met Mr. Dressup as a kid, I showed him drawing I had made of me and him on a pirate ship, he actually fricken like asked questions, and like commented on it and shit...

    Fucken blew my toddler mind.

  • Tough show. I loved the owl on the clock "Do-it dooey, Do-it doowoo" or whatever he said, hahaha.

  • 5 People dont like men dressing up on t.v!

  • RIP Donald Himes. Thanks for this wonderful theme song that I listen to every morning as a kid!

  • Multiple generations of Canadians will instinctively smile whenever they hear this song. And that's awesome.

  • @mightypotato I did! haha!

  • I think the show was called Mumbo Jumbo or something like that someone please help me find it

  • Does anyone know the name of this show im having a hard time finding it it was like a show about Hippo and i think a frog and i belive they lived in a windmill it used to cmon cbc

  • omg i misses this show soooooooooo much :(

  • Mr Dressup was a hell of alot better than Mr Rogers.

Maybe its because I AM CANADIAN!! ♥

  • I don't know why this freaks me out, but the music really scares me. And the elephants and the train...but I loved this show, AND FRIGGIN TRUFFLES

  • @RaneDuPre This generation is full of pussies, how can anyone be scared of this?

  • This and the old Sesame Street are ten times better then any kid show today!

  • :'(

  • Mr. Dressup and Sesame Street were staples in our childhood years for me and my sister. SO DON"T KNOCK IT! hehe

  • feeling NOSTALGIC

  • RIP Mr. Dressup

  • I remember watching this when I was in pre-school.

  • At work, i mentioned Mr. dressup's name, and my co-worker said he was a child molester. i punched her in the face. got fired, but it was totally worth it. No one calls Mr. dressup a child molester!

  • @DrPhilMusic i<3u

  • @DrPhilMusic That was wrong, you should have never done that. You should have taken her by the hair and pushed her head into the toilet!

  • @DrPhilMusic

Could you be any more immature?

  • @DrPhilMusic

that one stupid reason to punch a woman in the face

    even though mr.dressup wasn't a child molester

  • @DrPhilMusic That's very immature of you and regardless of whether he was or not, it was still a great show

  • @finnsia That could be his father or grandfather for all you know... Wouldn't you punch someone in the face if they said that about someone you loved and knew it wasn't true what they were saying? I know i would cause they should keep their mouth shut if they don't know if what they are saying is true!

  • @pdana81 So is that what these shows taught you? To punch someone you disagree with? Al Quedia disagrees with USA so they hijacked some planes and killed thousands, maybe you should do that with a car next time, have it driven into the person's house. Grow up, regardless of what a person says that only shows how emotionally weak you are sir.

  • @finnsia Im not a sir, I'm a woman! What the heck does Al Qaeda even have to do with this? Where does Al Qaeda even come into this? And no, THAT PERSON SHOULDN'T BE TALKING CRAP IF THEY DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! And my people have been in the US before it was even the United States. & I'M PROUD to be Strong Native American WOMAN! And I don't know why you had to put Al Qaeda in this conversation but I think & probably everyone agrees, is that YOUR the one who needs to grow up!

  • @pdana81 My apologies that I came to the false conclusion that you were a man. It seems you didn't read what I wrote about Al Qaeda. Regardless, what others say gives you no right to act out your emotions, like I said before- it shows that you can't control yourself hence why you should grow up. It's bad as it is that you're a native and also a woman, you should very well know that punching people won't get you anywhere with the well deserved rights that natives and women should receive.

  • @finnsia and you obviously didn't read my comment well either cause all i said was "for all they knew that could of been the person's father or grandfather and i would punch someone too IF they were saying something nasty about someone(like my mother or gram) i LOVED and knowing it not true!" But i wouldn't do it for any old reason.

  • @DrPhilMusic

I agree with you 100%, tho I will say the punch-in-the-face was a tad extreme. You should have let the air out of her tires instead!

As to all the quibbling, unless someone has real evidence, it's just wrong and sad to say things like that about such a beloved children's figure. You did hear about the car thieves, who when they realized they'd stolen MR. ROGER'S car, immediately returned it.

Defending Mr. Dressup is NOT Al-Quida.

  • @MsPandaRosa i did hear about that. that story gave me a good laugh. amazing how someone who figured out they stole mr. roger's car brought it back out of respect.

  • that just tripped me the fuck out.

  • stop at 0:28 look its the bunny the splicer!

  • this was my show!!! i hated Mr.Rogers to pieces, Mr.Dressup was wayyyyy cooler......but i kinda feel bad saying that since Mr.Rogers is dead now

  • @WeAreTheLucyz they both are...

  • hes awsome...there wasnt anything that he couldnt do...i used to think that teh tickle trunk was bottomless..lol..he helped us use our imagination.

after watching this i found his fan page on FB..yeah i joined.:P...he only has 143 fans?..and btw who thumbs down Mr Dressup?....wtf..u wish u were kool like that

  • R.I.P. Mr. Dressup, a true legend in my childhood days.

  • @BlackHallow55

Not only in your childhood days but most of the Canadians.

I know people who are 40 who remember watching him as a kid, and I even remember watching the re-aired episodes from when I was a kid (I was born in 95)

  • if ur a canadian this was ur childhood :P

  • @JeffandP Or lived in Detroit and got CBC Channel 9 from Windsor.

  • once i was old enough for school, i'd play sick once in a while so i could stay home and watch an episode of mr.dress up that aired at 9 am LOL

  • sooooo much more epic than mr rodgers... HE didnt know how to use office stickers to turn a shoebox into something magical. but mr dressup did...

  • Nostalgia

  • Hello childhood! Before Mr. Dressup, yes the show was Butternut Square that was hosted by Mr. Rogers.

  • Brings back memories

  • I agree with you TheMadMaud

  • Mr.Dressup needs to come back to life. I miss him ):

  • My grandfather did the music for all of Mr. Dressup.

  • Did there also used to be an opening with (cartoon also) an airplane flying among fluggy clouds and rainbow following or something? I recall that from the 70s...

  • Does it seem that time flys when your an adult but the day lasted forever as a kid?

Because we played all day and watched Mr. Dressup insteading of working - well time to go back to work!

  • My husband and I both watched this show as kids. We were talking about it the other night and we agreed that if it ever comes out on DVD, one of us would be collecting it...lol

  • oh my god, that train!! i feel like i am remembering stuff from when I was literally a baby like 1 year old

  • I remember this when i was sleeping over at my grandmas, everyone morning i wake up, this show plays and reminds me how it was great being a child.

Too bad this show closed down and my grandma and grandpa died =(

Mr. Dressup will always be my favorite childhood show.

  • AWW I used to think the intro was SOO cool!

Especially when he paints that big thinger..

    LOL

It's so simple! But used to be AMAZING!

  • Kids programming was not the same since Mr. Dressup went off the air on that sad September 3, 2006. Today, all the kids shows that air are just s**t. Even Sesame Street has declined in ratings in recent years, and I think will be cancelled before it turns 50. I don't support fast-paced kids shows anymore, as to me they do nothing but stimulate hyperactivity in kids and sometimes cause addiction. Mr. Dressup was unique in terms of slow-paced kids shows. It's a shame it's off the air.

  • @JonSea31 And oh yeah, if I were married and had kids (which I won't), I would never approve Sesame Street or any such hyperactive program to my kids, as the more appropriate way for my kids to learn would be hands-on learning. If kids were to learn the alphabet, or count to 20, or learn about shapes, I'd send my kids to junior kindergarten at age 3 if it was an option. The last thing my kids need is learning the alphabet from brightly-colored Muppet characters who can be somewhat addictive.

  • wow i remember this its so old omg.....

i get sooo sad when i see the young children shows that i use to

watch....brings back the sweet, innocent childhood memories that will never

come back again....i cant believe mr dressup died:( RIP

  • man... i still remember when he died. tragic, tragic day.

  • MRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR DRESSUP!!!!!!! omg, I totally forgot about this show,.

  • is this on dvd?? ...because i'd buy it all. <3

  • I was always creeped out at how Mr Rogers kinda just stared into random peoples windows and stuff... Mr Dressup ftw =)!!!!!

  • @flamingfigures baaaahahahaa!!! oh that was funny! :D Lol But yes Mr.D was great!!

  • OMG This just brought me back like 15 years back lol. I hadnt seen this intro in years.

  • I MISS THIS SHOW!!!

    SAME WITH BANANAS IN PAJAMAS

  • he could make anything out of a pipe cleaner and paper towel roll.

  • Seeing this makes me wanna cry, I loved this show when i was a child...R.i.P Mr. dressup. You brought joy to many like me.

  • This takes me back to a time I would much rather be.

  • RIP :(

  • i cryed when i watched this lol. :'( I MISS MR. DRESSUP!!! :'(

  • i wanna cry. :'( I MISS MR. DRESSUP!!!! :'(

  • i like how only 1 person has disliked this video.... what a sad lost soul

  • I miss Mr. Dress Up, legit my favourite show when I was like 4 :(

  • lol when I was a kid i grew up in Owen Sound which is where Mr Dressup is from and I share his last name so when I started kindergarten all the teachers and staff though I was related to Mr Dressup took me a few years to understand what they were all talking about.

  • i loved this show screw all the people who says mr dressup is gay fuck them
