You may only take a few split ends away but the idea will not solve the problem.The only solution is get a professional hair cut and or use a silk pillow slip when sleeping for fine hair.

@fluffytiger u cant eliminate split ends, she is doing the same job as a hairdresser would, if not better, as hairdressers will trim an inch or two off the bottom, by getting rid of the split ends only your maximizing the health and length :) hairdressers do not get rid of split ends, they cut them same as she is doing! except not with the lovely price tag to go with it :) and before anyone says anything, ive been doing this for a year now n my hair has never been so good :D

you can cut yourself every seven weeks, and avoid the heat in your hair. avoiding also to comb hair when wet. hair is then much more fragile. try to sleap with hair conditioner twice a week. it will keep freach and grow faster.

instead of at the last minute, take care of your damaged hair, do everything to try to prevent that happening. thats the trick to get longer hair. thats the truth /hairdresser

Thanks for the advice. I have really curly thick hair and it gets dry easy. It was dry and damaged. When I decided to get my hair straigtened for the first time I found I had bad split ends. The stylist cut my split ends off and now I noticed the ends are thicker and smoother. At first I was like "cut my hair?" But, in the long run it really does help. :)

I have naturally dry, thick wavy hair, so split ends a major problem for me. Whether I dye it or not. I trim the split ends and they're back in about a week. i use regular, but very sharp scissors (I'll try the hair dressing scissors) but how often do they have to be sharpened? Believe me, I have experience with that..

It is something hairdressers say so you go more to the hairdresser and they will get more money. But if you don't cut of splitted ends it will look ugly and if you don't do anything about it,it can split so much that when you go to the hairdresser they will have to cut more hair of than when you would have taken care of the splitted ends.

Hey so im a guy, long straight/wavey hair about 7cm past my nipple :D
