  • great work ronnie!!

  • @PukkatronicAllstars Your welcome.

  • @ronnietober1978 Thanks for the file. I built mine per yours but needed your reason file to help troubleshoot my issue. I love this environment. Cheers!

  • whats the point of the Spectrum Analyzer??

  • @hollywood208 It analyzer the spectrum. I use it to see where everything is within the mix. It makes the mixing easer althou I hope they will fit in a high quality one some day. Check google for more info on the spectrum analyzer and what it does.

  • @hollywood208 Check out one of his other vids on the spectrum analyzer. The SA assists in finding unwanted frequencies so you can eliminate them from your mix.

    /watch?v=CvxrMDQ2epE

  • I was wondering if you created an instrument for each mix channel in the drum group? For instance a Kong for the BassDrum, and a new Kong for the Snares?

    Great video!

  • @RayHeartburn I'm going to make a insperational video n.ext month It'll show you how to go about using a part of the template. Keep a look out!

  • *template, although would it be possible to have a tutorial on how to use it ( specific to side chaining too)? Thanks, Chris

  • @elsangre85 The way the sidechain works can be find within my other tutorials. It says reason 5 but it works the same. good luck!

  • @ronnietober1978....fantastic templat

  • Great stuff! My 1st. video viewed of yours. I'm a believer!

  • I set it up this way, but when I try to add a Kong to one of the drum channels it doesn't show up in the sequencer, so I can't record with it. The only channels in the sequencer are the vocal channels.. How do I fix this? I want every mix channel I make on the SSL to show up in the sequencer, ready to be recorded.

  • @EnigmaTheProducer

I figured it out, nevermind. Thanks for the video, very very helpful.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! Now how to get my drums to that group?

  • @tintala Press the tab key and hook all outputs of the drums to the drum group mixer channel. Good Luck.

  • thank you, I got it

  • Wow, this is great. I'm getting so much out of this tutorial. I'll be looking for more of yours. Do you have a link I can go to? Couldn't find where to download the spectrum analyzer???

  • @chosenonee First link within the discryption. Good luck!

  • I'm new to this and computer recording. You are waay advanced but you taking the time to answer peoples questions and your helpful remarks is very commendable!

I look forward to learning how this all works and you have a huge fan!

Thank so much for your generosity with your knowledge. Happy new year!

  • @pdxfun4888 Thx and the same to you. If you want a specific tutorial please le me know!

  • @ronnietober1978 you are a cool cat! Right on, for your response.

Before I bother anyone, I will put in the time to look at your other videos.

Again , thank you and much success!

This is going to be exciting to use reason.

  • @pdxfun4888 Your welcome!

  • Uuuh "You are a Well Organized Beast" I just discovered you and don't know where you've been hiding! Thank you for tutorial and Peace and Blessings to you for helping me! Ciao 4 now!

  • @regilanda Thx!

  • Disregard my FX question unless you plan to do a video. I read the Mixer chapter and get it.

  • @CAJPhoto Thats ok, any questions or requesrs are welcome. Leave them at my toutube channel within the comments.

  • This is probably a basic question; I see 3 ways to insert effects; Send, Return and Insert. Im not clear on how the Master Inserts work or when to use that vs. Send FX. Can you make a video to explain uses for each? I still need to read the manual but I understand how your template tutorial works now. Thanks for the help.

  • @CAJPhoto I'm a very busy man but I'll try to look in to it. no promisses do.

  • this is INTENSE!

  • @deejaystatue Thx, I take that as a positive.

  • @ronnietober1978 lol yeh hard to understand but I own reason 6 and will have a go at starting with this. I usually dont do anything like this when starting a tune!

  • @deejaystatue I don't start like this but I use the routing technices and the spectrum analyzer and sidechain like this.

  • @ronnietober1978 you are like reason god really

  • @deejaystatue Thx

  • You work hard and it pays off. Thanks for supporting Reason users.

  • @elsleezomac21 Thx for that!

  • Great Tutorial! Thanks

  • @boogie10451 Thx!

  • What would be ideal use for the spiders ( I was guessing FX)? I wanted to ad a Kong in my drum group area and use the mixer lines in that area to adjust each channel but it didn't work out for me. Can you give me suggestions for what machines would be used in that area. Would it be possible for you to make a song using that template to give your followers ideas on how it would be used?

  • @elsleezomac21 You can use the kong. You just have to route every sound to it's own mixerchannel. There a a view tutorials on youtube about that. You should check that out. I am a busy man but still working on a tut about using the template. cheers!

  • Where is the tutorial on how to use this?

  • @thehalestorm Coming your way soon.

  • I downloaded your template and the Spectrum. When I open your template I dont hear any audio from the redrum. I also loaded a redrum kit and no sound. The video is great and I've been searching YouTube for days and yours is the best I've found.

  • @CAJPhoto The redrum within the tutorial makes sound but you don't want to hear it because it's for the sidechain. Check my tutorial on that. If you create another redrum make sure it's connected to a mixer channel. Press Tab in the rack view to see if it is connected. Good luck!

  • Wow, this is an amazing set-up! I haven't got a clue about the spider rack pieces, but I'm willing to play around. Going to download the set up...xoxo

  • @paigemusic23 Thx!

  • I deleted the mixer and it worked perfectly, Tried it out and I loved it.

  • I have the combinator named spectrum analyzer in my main mixer. Where is yours and why do I have one shown in mine?

  • @elsleezomac21 I think you have connected the spectrum analyzer to a mixerchannel. I don't want that so I hold shift when creating it. You can delete the mixer channel or recreate the analyzer by holding shiftand hook it up as shown within the video. Good luck!

  • As far as the sidechain is concerned Instead of the pattern in the sidechain redrum I used the gate out on my bass drum in the drum group to trigger the sidechain compression of the gated pads I have working. I connected the out of one of the spiders to the dynamics sidechain in of the gated pads and used the compression insert in the channel strip of the mixer. All of the music I do can be found at either soundcloudDOTcom/malcolmwiseman or reverbnationDOTcom/malcolmwiseman

  • @Towl35 That sound great! I'm gonna try the gate out setup and see how it works. Thx for the comment!

  • The way I use this temp is create each instrument as I normally would and have the individual outputs go into the proper input for the mixer channel as described. ie for an a piano I would create an ID8 inside the fx section of the piano instrument channel in the instrument group. etc... for the drums you can create an ID8 inside each element in the drum group. Or you can create at redrum flip the rack and rout each individual output to its proper mixer channel.

  • @Towl35 That's the way to go. Thx for the comment. I think it would be helpfull for many others.

  • Hi, i´ve got a question! The setup is very nice but somehow i can´t eq, solo etc. the single mixer channels inside a group. For example cut out the low freq. in a bassdrum at the beginning of a track! I only can adjust it in the groupchannel witch would be the drum group channel in this case. Am I doing something wrong?

  • @jackl137 You can mix the individual track within the mixer. That is no problem. I think you solo the track and then listen. If you solo 1 channel you have to solo the mixer group to or you wil not hear anything. Also watch out you dont put your instrument within the FX send. I going to make a "how to use this template" tutorial this week. So keep an eye out!

  • @ronnietober1978 Yeah a How to use joint would really by nice as I can see this temp really puts my clutter into complete organization. Also, I prefer to use my sidechain compressor in combinator form as I made a cominator patch of a similar compressor in the past. Is there any problem with this withing your template? The sidechain combinator is the exact same as the compressor you made here.

  • @Towl35 That would not be a problem. Just make sure you have as many conenctions to our sidechain patch as you need. Thx for the comment!

  • @ronnietober1978 Yeah! I see I already have a song in the works using my combinator as the sidechain input! I also posted that I use the gate out of one redrum in the drum group to control the compression in the sidechain.

  • @jackl137 You can still solo the individual tracks in the sequencer.

  • @jackl137 If you read my comment on using the template.... where it says to solo the indv tracks... ok if you use the redrum you can always solo the individual drums themselves inside of redrum. Hope this helps

  • This may be a stupid question but, Do you have a tutorial on how to use this Best Reason 6 Set up?

  • @TownsidaRecords Good question. You can check the sidechain tut for the use of that and I'll make a short one for the basics.

  • Comment removed

  • @ronnietober1978 A video on the basics would be really helpful!! Thanks for your videos, I appreciate you posting them

  • i cannot for the life of me get sound from the redrum

  • @CJTheMaestro The redrum showed in the template is for sidechaining. Please watch my tutorial about that. There is no sound getting out that you hear. Thats the idear.

  • @CJTheMaestro the redrum in this template is NOT I repeat NOT for sound. It is being used as a side chain compressor.

  • No need to add an external Spider Audio to connect to the Spectrum... I built that into the featured Spectrum Analyzer combi already. Just route Master Out to the Spectrum IN, then router the combo OUT to the I/O. It passes straight thru the Spectrum Analyzer already.

  • !@wendylouwho Thanx for the comment. That's a way of setting it up indeed!

  • hi just just subscribed, great video, could you put the actual template file as a download link? think that would be pretty amazing

  • @ArtisanSin im an idiot, ignore

  • @ArtisanSin I'm sorry but did you check the dysciption???

  • @ronnietober1978 yeah i said ignore and thanks.

  • I tried this - all set up but cannot even get the redrum signal to play through my speakers - no sound???

  • I FOLLOWED THIS WHOLE TUTORIAL STEP BY STEP AND IM USING A MIDI CONTROLLER IS THIS JUST A TEMPLATE FOR LIVE INSTRUMENTS OR WHAT ? I CAN NOT EVEN HERE THE BASS DRUM HIT ON MY SET UP ...PLEASE HELP . THANK YOU

  • @fightshowwithro u have to put in hte instruments yourself or there will be no sound. I hope that helps.

  • Hey bro thanks for the knowledge!! This helps a lot... :-)

  • @silenticon Thx!

  • @silenticon Thx m8!

  • Never mind, I figured it out. Cheers!

  • @TaoOfOkada how did you get sound from the template

  • @CJTheMaestro Funny you should ask. I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm waiting for a tutorial on how to actually use the darn thing properly. But remember, the redrum that is in the tutorial is for side chaining only. There won't be any sounds coming out of that redrum. Check out ronnietober1978's other tutorial on sidechaining. You have to create another redrum for your drum sounds. I have some free time coming up to investigate further....sorry I couldn't be of more help.

  • @TaoOfOkada I'll make a tutorial on how to use the template this week.

  • Yes! I definitely got something out of this, a giant, massive headache...but seriously, awesome tutorial!! This is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks for this!

  • @TaoOfOkada Thanx a lot I really apriciaat that.

  • @ronnietober1978 Wondering if you can help me out. I'm in the process of setting up this killer template you've provided. When I get to creating the groups, Reason isn't allowing me to create more than 3 groups. After I copy the third group and try to drag it over to the right, Reason is displaying a circle with a line through it signaling that I can't drag it over...any thoughts?

  • @TaoOfOkada Did you fix it yet? Or still in need of some help?

  • @ronnietober1978 Yes sir, I figured it out. Thanks for checking. I'll be a frequent visitor to your page. You have a talent for explaining things which makes it easy to understand. Keep up the great work!!

  • thanks for the DL link for the spectrum analyzer!

  • @Tr0ll321 Your welcome!

  • impressed how quick youve done this man . . your certainly not one to sit on your laurels . . big ups

  • @stepzakasas THx!

  • @stepzakasas Thx!
