@noelist I agree, Middlewood Station is one of the best places to see trains go by and is also my nearest train station.
Not to mention I uploaded a video in which a special hauled by two Class 47 diesels (SRPS Railtours: Buxton) came past Middlewood station from the other way. Next Buxton Spa Express train will come past Middlewood on 05/11/11, and I will be filming that too from Middlewood!
@TheBadsanta18 I don't think either loco alone, would be considered to have enough power to pull the train safely on this line due to the steep gradients.
