Fantastic action , speed and maturity at just age 18! Can't wait to see him and Pattinson bowl together. I think they can cause some serious problems for even the best batsman. Rotate/ add Siddle, Hilfenhaus and Johnson and the Aussie bowling might settle into awesome for the first time since the departure of McGrath, Gillespie, and Lee.
I like that he looks like he's really putting in when he's bowling, but he is still enjoying himself. and still young good to see him getting his chance in the baggy green. If he can keep relatively injury free he and Pattinson will be a formidable duo
He can never Replace Bretlee... Though this lad started his career with BANG...!! Lets wait and watch he can serve AUS as many years as bret lee did...
Bretlee is a legend and dont compare any bowler with him...
@stratocaster1986able that's grounded for almost 3 feet with the back side of palm facing the sky. If he is still claiming it's a catch, he should also be claiming he has a King Kong's hand. .
@107ii That's indians. Pakis eat meat so they are more accustomed to pace bowling, whereas indians are vegetarians, that's why most of their bowlers cant get above 125km/h
I m Pakistani, I like this guy he can become a world class bowler like waqar but I think he need sum tuning from great bowlers like Waqar Younis as he is in Australia now & MacGrath...!!
@fukhan85 I have said for a long time why not get Waqar Younis involved in the Australian bowling coaching since he spends a lot of time out here anyway, but I think even if he considered it, he'd be concerned about the affect it may have in Pakistan. I don't know why, Enough outsiders have attempted to help Pakistan out.
Cummins is excitingly quick. He will get quicker and probably will become a good genuine express fast bowler. Keep an eye on him and another express fast youngster from NZ, Milne. We will be seeing more of them in future...
it was not a catch at 2:40! The fielder touched the ball to the ground after he fell to the ground. Reminds me of Ponting/Clarke catches in the infamous India series. The catcher should not have claimed it.
@JVHtable What made you say this? Was it about the catch? You can see for yourself and, if you honest, tell me if the ball did not touch the ground after the catcher fell over.
@irtezaa There has been no "infamous" Australia/India series. If you're talking about the series where Symonds was called a primate and the Indians whinged and sooked, it certainly wasn't "infamous". Maybe their media and fans that live in Austrailia thought it was.
@MrDaGeil I am talking about the series in Australia, where Ponting claimed a catch similar to the one taken in this video at 2:40. No hard feelings. I am a big of the australian team for their competitiveness but not a big fan theirs when it comes sportsmanship.
@irtezaa The Australians don't have curators clipping every blade of grass off a pitch to lessen the impact of an opposions pace attack. They also don't complain when there is too much grass on a pitch in a touring country, ala Anil Kumble. I think, as an Indian, you need to define the definition of sportsmanship, and not just when and where it suits you.
@MrDaGeil BTW I am a Pakistani. Do not take it personally. There is no need to redifine sportsmanship. Clipping the grass or leaving too much grass is not cheating, but claiming a wicket when it is not there is unsportsmanship. Anybody who does it is wrong; if Aussies are doing it, do not try to defend it, rather fight it. When the Indians became racist against the Aussie, everybody condemned it, nobody defended it. So humbly learn the lesson and win games fairly.

A catch is determined by the fielder controlling the release of the ball. Abbott's catch was controlled the whole way hence why it was given out
