  • Which Single GPU do you recommend, a HD 5830 or a HD 6850, at what GPU u get the best bang for your buck?

  • @pietercool 6850 for sure.

  • When i'm playing Fallout 3 on Windows Vista, the game will some what freeze and actually this happens to all my games. Even a day brand new! Not even 1 scratch.

And my computer is only 1 year old. with over 200 GB.

    Can you help?

I'll subscribe and rate 5 star on all your videos!

  • @TheFalloutNews are you useing an ATI 5000 series card? if you are this is comman. The drivers on all 5000's cause random giltches about every 5-10 minutes.

  • haha wrong guess its 5970... but the other 5800 cards u guessed it right :D rodney

  • @killerman778 funny thing is as we soeak nvidia loses sales because there cards arent as good as they wanted them to be and yet way over priced. the GTX480 which will only have 10% better performance then the 5870 will be 499.99-550 and the GTX470 which will have the perormance of the 5850 will be the price of the 5870

  • haha, this would be great ! :D

  • doubt it wud happen

  • is ati better than nvidia

  • theyre both good nvidia has their new 300 series cards coming out soon, they may be or may not be faster than ati's 5000 series but ati have the best cards out now with the fastest single gpu card on the market being the hd 5870 and they have the lead with the fastest dual gpu card being the 5970, nvidia have yet to release theyre new line up so all i can say is watch this space its looking promising for nvidia if its dx 11

  • @greenbrad182

    yes

  • @greenbrad182 yea it is

  • ATI not good. Nvidia gonna win with its completly new DX11 card. this card is not that new. it just added DX11. Nvidia has a new architecture.

  • why dont i hear or find anything abt the upcoming nvidia series of new cards?... why is nvidia so silent?

  • because u fail and don't look hardd nuff. its coming out at he end of this year,,,,,, derp .

  • u dont have to be rude... imbecile

  • THIS IS SPAARRRTTTAAAA

  • a 10 year old... greattttt

  • someone putting out things that arent facts..greeeaaattttt. lolz. u fail.

  • i failed? u probably learned that from grade 1... try something else... ur mom failed the world by giving birth to you TTHIISSS IS SPARTAAA.. what ur going to scare me with that?... u are brainless and irrelevant... u bring up abt sparta on an ati card video... and i fail?... u are a person with a mentality of a mere child

  • im just enjoying you waste time making insults lol. :D Im the superior one here. You are the monkey being my sole entertainment :D . make up more please.

  • being superior when u cant think maturely... sad

  • when im typing im not thinking. you are not worth my thought process..........owned.

  • not thinking... sad

  • nou

  • lolz lolz lolz.. lolz at me when u see ur mom sucking my dick

  • here in Israel The GPU's corrently in stores is the HD5750 HD5770 HD5850 HD5870. some sapphire some gigabyte.

but prices are really high .. compare to USA/Candana. around 200$more on the 5870 around 100$more ont he 5850. since the 5770 and 5750 havn't realesed there yet. prices here are 5750= around 270$ and 5770 = around 300$... but i am sure in USA it'll cost way less. like rodney said.

  • o_0<- BooM_Headshot 50/50.50_50-50 lol

  • do you ever hang around with les stroud or jermemy and kyle from pure pwnage?

  • I'm looking into MAYBE getting a 5770 when they come out. If they are under $/150 i'll try to get one. Otherwise, a 4870 is only $/125 for a xfx 4870 on newegg. Great price/performance ratio.

  • I believe the 5770 will have the same GDDR5 as on the HD5870, and 40nm as well. So it should overclock much better than a 4870.

  • if you have a P5N-E-SLI ASUS, do not use the 5000 series on, 4000 series works fine, but does not like the P5N series

  • In my country the gtx290 costs more than the HD5890

  • You mean the 4870 because the 5890 is not yet released

  • no, i know it's not released yet, but they already put it's price

  • You mean gtx295 right?

  • yea

  • Crossfire..... ;) :D

  • Idiot.

  • WTF u sound like a bit of a noob when u have an ati card/s its called crossfire not sli thats nvidias version of it but if youre going to be running 4 of them its called quadfire

  • Ill just stay with my Nvidia.I don't know why but I have tried ati and had problems every time and I don't know why.Just on my main PC.

  • Your videos are great. I got all my PC knowledge from you!! Thanks and keep up the good work!!!

  • dude its so predictable its just like the 4830 4850 4870 4890 replace the damn 4 with a 5 and u got the 5000 series

  • hey 3d man i used to watch you before YouTube so glad i found you again. Those were back in the days you sported a manly beard.

Great to see your still pumping out some quality vids, really appreciate it mate.

  • U said 50 a lot.

  • I thought the 5850 is already out...

  • it is

  • Nvidia fan boys are still saying that the 5870 is slower than their GTX 295. That's so funny. I love the animosity. It's great.

  • 5870 costs 350€ right now in germany

    and HD5850 costs 250€

  • nVidia is just playing monopoly thay have all their hotels out but no one is landing on them

  • so, you guess that it would be like the HD4000 Series ?

    5350 - 5550 - 5650 - 5670 - 5750 - 5770 - 5830 - 5850 - 5870 - 5890 - 5850X2 - 5870X2

not sure about the low end cards, i think, they will be releasing less low end cards than the old serie.

i bet that a couple of 5830 in CF would be the best deal in cost/performance.

  • i like it when he says " i hope that answers your questions, and keep ur questions coming " hahaha

  • Nice video.

  • 50 much? lol

  • He said "50" 21 times.

  • Thanks i was wondering lol

  • lol, nice

  • I'm sure the 5890 will beat the GTX295

  • yeah because the 5870 is ati and well ati is not supported by a lot of games. Also its in the stages of infancy, driver wise. btw i know i sound bias, but in reality im just saying facts. right now the 5870 is better than the 295, still doesn't mean Nvidia is not a great company. Just saying

  • Regardless of performance, nivida is just waiting for a massive fine, there monopoly style business strategy's won't work for much longer.

And when nvidia finally do the right thing and port PhysX and drop Cuda, things will improve.

  • Well a 5870 is actually slower than a 295 :)

  • 5870: one GPU

    GTX 295: two GPU's

the 5870 is almost as fast as the GTX 295. with only one GPU. and much more cost effective. and when the 5870X2 comes out, nvidia is gonna have a shitload of work ahead of them to beat it

  • but the GTX 295 has two lower-end gpus that are almost a year old, as opposed to the brand new 5870. but the 5870 is more cost-effective though. ATI aims for cost/performance as where nVidia usual aims for sheer porformance. If things continue like they have, ATI will continue having the performance per dollar as where nVidia will have top performance for top dollar. It all depends on what you want/need.

  • it's basically two GTX 260's, and those aren't exactly weak cards. doesn't matter if they're a year old. the point is, with two GPU's it should be faster than anything out there, especially single GPU offerings. and in some respects, it is. but only just, and the 5870 beats it in other respects. the point is, ATI now pretty much holds the performance crown, I'd say. and they'll tighten their grip once Hemlock a.k.a. 5870X2 comes out.

  • The GTX 295 is a pair of GTX 275s.

  • but the GTX 260's are weak cards considering the rest of the GTX series (GTX 275, 280, 285). But ATI does hold the best cost/performance of all cards, specially the 5870. As of right now the GTX 295 and 5870 are battling for the top crown., each wins its own. By the time Hemlock releases though, Fermi should be out.

  • Yer i already klnow this.

But we all know the gt300 is gonna be a big fail.

Only the fan boys will go running to buy that chip, that costs more than your house.

  • no.... 5870 is the fastest single GPU card on the market right now

  • shit its faster than the gtx 295 and proven by 3dgameman.

tomshardware and guru3d are biased towards Intel and Nvidia and set up the computers so Intel and Nvidia score better. If you look at 3dgameman's test he did himself, it shows REAL benchmarks, not ones being bought off by Intel and Nvidia. If I had the money, I would be just like 3dgameman, doing PROPER REVIEWS not just biased ones.

  • Yes I agree completely! Let the best video card win within an unbiased benchmark test. People shouldn't have to cheat.

  • I never said the 5870 wasn't the fastest single GPU.

I just said the gtx295 is still faster.

  • You are right mate.

  • Wait 5850 = 295

    but 5870 < 295 WTF

  • Comment removed

  • I was responding to SoCalyankeefan when he said the 5850 is the same as a 295 when its around the same as the 275.

  • @xboxlive6 you mean 5870

  • @MrComputereviews OMG that comment was posted a year ago.

  • @xboxlive6 i know just correcting for future viewers

  • I have a 5890 xD edition crossfire! Watch my last video! or look for the 5870 x2 crossfire in youtube! :D

  • I'm an NVidia guy ... :( .. waiting for the fanboy replies .. :)

  • i'll wait for the 5990x4 =)

  • 5850 is out its 259 usd

  • Please do a review of the Lian LI A71F.

  • forgot the 5890. :)

  • all those numbers....dude! you totally confused me :S

  • Im sorry but, So far No games needs these Cards to run...

  • Yep, well I hope you know it is aimed at 3D game developers and modelers. And actually, this card will be useful for games, if you have seen any ATI Eyefinity technology.

  • The 2% yield rumor has been confirmed false by nVidia. There actually was a real Fermi tested and shown, but that one wasn't in a "card form" able to hold and present to the media, hence why they used a mock card.

  • of course they said it was false, who in their right mind in the business world would say they messed up. The only way i can take that it is false is if several sources find it false

  • yeah, the working model was 2+ feet.

  • hehe - got 2 3850's 512MB DDR3 for £30

  • There won't be 5890 for now cause the 5870 already uses their top line GPU.

  • Well maybe, the 4890 was really only a enhanced version of the 4870. So thats why rodney said it could come up in the line up later on. But who knows we just got to wait and see what this year and next year bring us.

  • 5850 is definetly as of right now $260 3DGAMEMAN, according to Newegg.

  • if the lower end 5xxx series is around 100-150 then im definitely getting it, i dont really need those super high end x2 cards

  • I wouldn't doubt the lineup is similar to the HD 3 and 4 series considering the already started with the 5870 and 5850 like the two previous series.

  • What is more important? A CPU or GPU?

Should I get a Dual Core with a high end graphics card?

    or

A Quad Core with an ok graphics card?

  • Balance it .

But for higher resolutions CPU bound will be minor .

For lower resolutions CPU bound will be bigger .

  • If you are only gaming get a duel core with a high end video card.Try to also get a good cooler and overclock the hell out of the core 2 duo or if your going amd the athlon x2

  • if you have a weak CPU then your GPU won't be able to operate at its full potential. You should get a good CPU and an ok GPU,then save up for a good GPU.

if you get an AMD phenom II 810

(Quad core) and a radeon 4850 you will have a very powerful PC,at a low cost.

  • if you get a low end dual core CPU and a high end GPU it will most likely bottleneck

  • right. if anyone has a dual core CPU and gets a 5870x2 they deserved to be smacked... hard.

  • what? why?

  • why what?

  • why smacked?

  • woooo if the price is that low ........ Fuck off 295 GTX i will go ATI yeeeeeeeeeh

  • Good guesses BUT I think that the GPU's prices are going to vary when the Nvidia 300 Series come out. Also when the 5800x and 300x series are done and finished - the 4800X series are going to be dirt cheap. Good vid!

  • the 4850 is only $90 hahaha

  • my guess is that ATI will maybe release the 5890 after the 300series comes out to compete. if the reports are true that a 5890 is on the works.

  • If the 5890 comes out, it won't appear on store shelves until June of next year. So you have to wait 10 moths for its released...

  • i wounder if there will be a gtx 285 new gen graphics card example gtx 385 something like that

thats what im waitying for to replace the one i already have if i get the money that is

  • They will have a whole now series, the GT300, should be out Q1 2010

  • Nice.

  • You shouldn't have made a video if all you're gonna give are speculations! It's like a scientist saying "I HAVE A CURE FOR CANCER"..."maybe..."

  • 5890 Crossfire will give nvidea some serious competition

  • Assuming your system can handle it, but Crossfire or SLI doesn't really double performance, it just divides the load between the cards you have, my friend has an SLI setup, and he said that's all it really does.

  • um, that's the point. distributing the effective load between the cards increases the avg fps.

It's not a 100% increase.. but would avg around 30-50% increase for SLI with 2 cards.

  • My friend saw no gain in FPS, just a more solid FPS.

  • that means that he is CPU limited.

  • Not really, he has some of the latest hardware, including CPU.

  • No, not all games get even 1% framerate bonus for SLI/Crossfire setups.

Most modern FPS,Racing,action/adventure games do however.

  • 50 50 50 50 50 0D

  • it seems 3dgameman was having a good time guessing :D

  • ordered the HD 5850. it gives about the same performance of a GTX 275/285 for the price of a GTX 275.

this is even with pre-mature drivers.

  • nice one, i ordered a 5870 yesterday. it's supposed to get here tomorrow :D

  • Expensive.

  • yes. but cheaper than nvidia.. i hope nvidia lowers prizes becuze of that.. so than ati will lower prizes too :D i hope that would happen..

  • I got my Nvidia 9400 GT for $65 at Best Buy.

Get from Newegg, they offer great hardware for cheap prices, you can get some GeForce 9800 GTX+'s from there at like $120.

  • 9400 gt? you can't even play call of duty 4 maxed out with that card

  • Fine with me, since I don't play those kind of games.

The most I ever played high end like that was Crysis, on my old ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT, and I got it settings at about 3/4's max.

  • actually you can i've seen it maxed out on my friend's computer before

  • How is it expensive?

a Nvidia competitor for about half the price?

    300 bucks for a 5870? that's actually a good price.

  • You can get a GeForce GTX 280 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 from Newegg for about $239.

  • its 65nm gets way to hot and is outperformed by a 4890 for 200

  • Also, Nvidia is the best choice if you plan to use Flight Simulator, I tried several recent ATI HD cards with Flight Simulator 2004, and they always got lower FPS than my Nvidia cards oldest was a 7600GS.

  • Wow, ATI is also the best choice for FPS games, my old X1600pro out framerated the 8400 series card.

    See what I did there?

I used one GPU in a specific situation.

    You are simply a fanboy.

  • My hardcore simmer friend recommends Nvidia for Flight Simulator, and here is the ATI cards I've tested with Flight Simulator 2004, first it was an ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 512MB, then a ATI Radeon HD 2400XT 256MB, the Nvidia cards I tested were a Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS 512MB, and now I have a Nvidia 9400 GT 1GB, and Nvidia has always given me smoother frame rates.

  • OK, my last response to you.

FSX was optimized for Nvidia GPU's.

    The 2400XT 256mb will undoubtedly be slower than a 9400GT (I'm using the PNY Verto 9400GT 512mb)

Also note the price points at time of launch for each series.

Please, do not reply to this anymore.

  • Actually FSX is more of a CPU based version of Flight Simulator, unlike previous versions, and I use FS2004, aka FS9.

  • Also, my 9400GT is 1GB not 512MB.

  • does it really matter to have 60 FPS or more on a game?

  • Nope...

But some people get snobby when it comes to being able to play on there 30" 1600x1200 displays..

I however will take 1024x768 any day as long as I'm getting 60+ FPS.

  • Anyway, I will let Rodney intervene at this point as I personally don't have time to inform you on every GPU situation.

    Rodney, take it away!

  • Well, I don't have a 30" 1600x1200 display, I am using an antique Compaq V500.

  • NEC AccuSync 70,15-3/4"

Faster response time than any LCD while having no ghosting & no native resolution to limit me.

Until back-lit LED displays come down in price ($300-2000+) I'll stick with my ancient & reliable CRT display.

  • Mine is a CRT display as well.

  • Check out some of newegg's back-lit LED monitors, they are quite impressive if you disregard the prices =)

  • I agree, I am not an ATI person, I prefer Nvidia.

  • AMD stands for Advanced Micro Devices and INTEL stands for shit

  • Well, I am a Intel person, because AMD's tend to run hotter.

  • That's your reason? & only K8 and older CPU's ran hotter.

  • Not my only reason, but I prefer Intel and Nvidia anyway, never been an AMD/ATI person.

  • i hate ati and intel i love nvidia and amd

  • ATI is owned by amd and developed by amd, so you can't exactly hate one and love the other...

  • Well, ATI is now a part of AMD now, for quite some time.

  • Well, maybe that's why your information is old.

AMD offers competitive prices of equivalent products of C2D/C2Q series.

My suggestion, don't be a techy prude.

  • What information?

AMD is cheaper, however, the truth of the matter is that gaming is 90% videocard limited, and whether you pick an Intel or AMD processor is not as relevant as it used to be. It's not irrelevant, but the days of AMD being the "gamer's CPU" are as dead as 3DFX.

  • I never said what either CPU is for.

The fact of the matter is, AMD's Phenom II series is excellent for the value compared to the C2Q series.

Intel's I5 series however just slapped AMD financially.

  • I prefer Intel, and my dad uses AMD, and he has had to replace his CPU at least twice, and he doesn't over clock them or anything.

  • That's irrelevant.

He could be getting CPU's from the same warehouse batch, over & over.

Basing YOUR views on someone else's bad experiences is a poor choice for choosing a PC component.

  • lol, over the course of a year? unlikely.

Well, I would rather get a CPU that doesn't have problems, so yes, basing my views on someone else experience with them, does tend to influence my choice, regardless I have always been an Intel person.

  • Value != Reliability

  • Not necessarily true.

  • me 3
