They always use the argument that kids will use drugs. Its funny how government people that are against drugs think. When i was in 3rd grade in Chicago, i had my first lesson about drugs. A lady came to the class with examples of drugs in a wood box with a glass cover. I didnt even know what the concept of drugs was at that time. After the lesson most of the kids in the class had pernament markers to sniff, white out, and elmers glue. Some of them even knew how to do everything right.

Lol @ the firefighter bit... If it was legal people wouldn't need to grow it in stealthy indoor grows. Most people willing to grow it, would do so in their yard or a greenhouse. Without the fear of having their homes taken away, things become much safer, because people are more willing to do things the RIGHT way.

Safely constructed grow equipment could be legally sold for the purpose.

And because legalization allows commercial production, more people will buy prepackaged from shops.

Law enforcement doesn't want legalization because weed is an easy catch for them. They can't smell when someones been doing cocaine. Marijuana smell is an easy bust. It is hysterical that the firefighters "feared for peoples lives" for plugging in their growing equipment into their outlets. There are so many dumb reasons that they come up with to keep it illegal. Law enforcement officers are RARELY strong debaters for prohibition. They don't have a proper perspective on it, they only ever see the bad side, because that's their job. Some come to realize the harm the law causes, but most don't. Their job often depends on their opposition.

Drugs and black market CAN be separated, but this cop hasn't seen legalization.

It is not a gateway drug, this is a falsehood that has maintained itself wrongly for many years, even after being disproved repetitively.
