@antares074 Ironman stuck up for what the PEOPLE decided and what the government enacted tell me what did he do that deserves him being fucked (and not in a good way)
On the last part of your rant, the reason they do multi-title cross overs, is to try and get readers to buy more books. It is an artificial bump in sales. So if you regularly only read Batman and Detective Comics, they use a multi-title cross over to get you to pick up Batgirl or Robin books. It sucks, but it is purely a business move. I do miss the days when plots were contained in a single issue or a single title. But in the end it is a book selling business.
many heroes (superheroes included) don't especially care about the law, they care about fighting crime and purging their respective environs of wicked forces. Whatever that means. They're not defending the law they're defending justice. It's different. Rorschach is one example. Spiderman (when he's constantly on the run) is another. The Punisheris another, the list goes on and on.
That doesn't mean they hate the law, they just see it as prone to social vogue.
I have been a DC Comics fan since 1980, and I like a lot of the stories they are telling right now. I liked Final Crisis I had no problem keeping up with the story. I have not really enjoyed Marvel since 1991.
DC did destroy their characters. Bruce Wayne is gone. Superman books don't make since, and he's barely in them. The characters who built and carried the company suck, now.
Because they are idiots. You saw tha answer coming, I know. There's no reason to do that. It didn't interest me. It only made me want to avoid their product, until someone fixes all of their crappy titles.
Because it's all hey Superman had a long abscence let's do it with Batman again. Honestly DC hasn't stopped with let's kill off this character holding the title of whatever super hero so this new one can take his place.
They need to stop doing it. Instead having the next legacy character killed off create a new super hero, and have him or her have a different name.
you know i going have to agree with you in this video. i am more forgiveing of dc than marvel however i am more disappointed in dc than marvel right now
I only read in trades (my comic store shut down a year back and the next closest one is 45 mins to an hour away) So I really haven't had to deal with all the Final Crisis stuff.
morrison is one of the few batman writers right know who - imo - totally get what batman is all about, so i also think that you might agree on the way he sees batman. sure, you will be at first pretty turned of, because he interprets batman as a guy who is psychological driven over the edge, a real psychopath. but in the end of r.i.p., batman's shown as what he is: a hero, someone who fights for the good. somebody who might be sick on a psychological stand point but is still a very nobel hero.
resurrection of ra's al ghul isn't really necessary, i think. i haven't read it since i had absolutely no interest for the story, so i went directly to black glove and r.i.p. and had no problems to understand it. the ra's al ghul thing just seems to be a filler before morrison could make his next step in his run. a friend of mine read it and said that it really isn't that good, so i'm not planning to read it in near future. believe me, you can pass it, there is no knowledge required, whatsoever.
I'm not really sure if you will like the grant morrison run if your read it completely. it is very very tough to get into, you have to do much research in not only batman history but also human psychology itself. even a certain knowledge of buddhistic rites is pretty important to fully understand morrisons run. i, on the other hand, like it very much. i'm also one of the maybe 2 persons who loved r.i.p.
That's the reason why i stopped collecting batman in 2000. Unnecessary crossovers. I only collected batman. I didn't want detective.

Didio is a clown. Quesada is an idiot!
Didio has ruined a lot of stuff... but Quesada ruined Spidey and as far as CIVIL WAR: BARF!
to hell with both of them... we need the greats back (Jeanette Khan and Jim Shooter)

Countdown to Final Crisis was an abomination of mankind.

There was less Final Crisis tie-ins than there was Infinite Crisis ones. Remember I.C had every dc book crossing into it.
