@bgardiner2000 Yeah your probably right about going under 1.50 for the mile. It's a very classy field. It would of been good to see Bitobliss in the field. Smokin Up fired a ominious warning at Addington in the NZ duty free. Would not be surprised to see him go close to his mile record. I've got a feeling Mr Feelgood will run a big race also even though history is against him with previous Cordona sprint winners not firing a week later.
@bgardiner2000 True bgardiner, Your brother works in the industry. I'm sure he's seen his fair share of great horses. I'm sure i've read one of your past posts saying you are also in the industry.
@SoulSurvivor79 Miracle Mile Field - I'd be surprised if they didn't go sub 1:50: • Smoken Up • Im Themightyquinn • Raglan • Franco Jamar • Mr Feelgood • Lisagain • Terror To Love • Karloo Mick • Garnet River (1st emergency) • Mega Alexander (2nd emergency)
@bgardiner2000 Okay it's Gringaro, for some reason i thought his name was Gringarra. What's your thoughts on the Canadian horse Lisagain? Before the start of the Coca Cola mile the commentator was really praising the horse like he was the second coming and the horse had the race in the bag. Franco Jamar was supurb from the wide barrier showing speed to come across. Had the race won along way out.
@SoulSurvivor79 It's a big ask to come over & slug it out with our best horses. Mr Feelgood is an international superstar. ANZ racing is far different from in the US because there is no hand-up rule here. It changes the way races are run here & also accounts for the difference in times from here and the states. If you introduced a hand-up rule we'd be running comapritive times within a few seasons. Fortunately our racing is far less 1 dimensional & interesting than our trans-atlantic brethren.
@bgardiner2000 Sorry i got it wrong Gringarra started from the second line widest out in the first race. And i'm sure he had some sort of handicap start in his last start.
@bgardiner2000 I will keep an eye out for the horse you mentioned bgardiner. Another WA horse i've been impressed with who has finished a close second in his last two starts because of a wide draw and a 40 metre handicap start is Gringarra. He is a great little horse. Whats happened to Davy Mcguire? he's really starting to go backwards.
@SoulSurvivor79 Grinjaro is another one who has a lot of ability. My brother was his farrier for a while and the horse has bad feet / legs. Spitting image of Grinfromeartoear too. A nice little horse but proably just a little below grand circuit class. Davy MacGuire has had a couple of pretty tough runs in the last few weeks. Again, not quite up to the big boys.
@bgardiner2000 Cheers, Yeah i will wait until the barrier draw and see who gets an inside barrier. But i will say the ITMQ was uber impressive last weekend the way he went past Real Life who after witnessing that beast destroying a feild of top WA pacers the week before. It was one of the easiest exactas i've made.
@SoulSurvivor79 Real Life has certainly grown a leg in the last few weeks. Looks like Tsilivich will have a shot at some of the big races in the next few weeks. Hopefully Has The Answers is in the paddock now.
Hey what's your thoughts on next weeks Miracle Mile? Do you think it's a two horse race between I'mthemightyquinn and SmokenUp? Do you think Franco Jamar has a chance? What about Mr Feelgood?

@SoulSurvivor79 A lot will depend on the draw. ITMQ isn't a true mile horse... especially the way mile's are run on the big Menangle track. He'd have to have the race run to suit (i.e. with a good sit) to be any real chance. If he has to do any work he'd struggle IMO. That's why a horse like Smoken Up / Mr Feelgood will fare so well. There are a few nice horses that have een invited. Franco Jamar is def one of them.
@karloomick I am sorry to have to agree, Lance did cheat and he knows it, but are too scared to admit that. I saw what might have been the trigger, Monkey King was and is better Lance.
I'll be honest, I'm wondering if you're right about BAF, I really hope that's not the case, because he's such a great horse :-(
I've had to watch Aussie racing online as my TV no longer gets Trackside, and the draw certainly is an interesting one for the Cranbourne. Imthemightyquinn isn't Young Quinn, but I agree with you again that he's probably the danger to the faves.
Great to see a jump up to G1 and an increase in prize money, or did I miss something in earlier seasons?
@emmelby I was being a bit tongue in cheek about BAF. Both horses ran massive races. I think BAF is going as well as ever. The mile has never been his distance. He was nosed out in the fastest mile ever run on this side of the planet. Not bad for a 10yo ;)
Imthemightyquinn is one of the most underrated horses presently racing in ANZ. Have a look at last years AG Hunter where he steams home for 3rd. He needs a sit though.
Not sure with the Cranbourne. Think you might be right.
@emmelby I don't think Imthe Mightyquinn is under-ratd anymore. I've just returned home from overseas and saw him in the stable this morning... back in work for a surprise winter campaign. Looks an absolute treat.
@emmelby Yeah well I'm sure it's not the worst news in the world for the connections of ITMQ ;) It is a bit of a shame though. He was the best horse in the series IMO, even if the Quinn was outstanding. But the onus is on the trainer to ensure that the horse is presented to race free of prohibited substances. I know for a fact that the Hall's are not happy about winning under these circumstances.
@emmelby I know... one for the books. I don't know what's wrong with BAF... they only ran 1:50.3... and the last 1/4 in a pedestrian 26.4... I thought he was better than that. Must have lost a bit with age ;)
@emmelby Have you seen the field for the Cranbourne Cup? The draw makes it interesting with Smoken Up and Mr Feelgood off the back. I think the real danger in this race is Imthemightyquinn. He needs a sit but with those drawn the back he should slot into the moving line from 5. Karlsrue should lead ... SU & MF are going to have to go forward at some point. Leaves the WA horse with a big shot at them, so long as the pace is good. If SU wins you'd have to rate him the best going atm. JMO.

@bgardiner2000 Well that's some welcome good news after SU's positive B sample, which has me baffled.
