  • I want to commend the NYPD for not simply pepper spraying all of these hipster douchebags

  • can somebody just stick a dick in that bitch's mouth

  • wow, these guys are all drunk

  • I'll bet the guy who screamed "working class traitor!" at the end has never worked a day in his life.

  • I dont see the brutality, but I do see nervous police trying to do their job in an environment where constant shouting can turn into a mob mentality or riot.

  • This is excellent. shoot jobs at them.

  • and im not talking bout the cops

  • wow... fuckin little animals

  • i live in the area, and I swear, if a hipster gives me one good reason to kick his ass, I will.

  • how about i stand infront of your apartment at 2:30 in the morning yelling "kangaroo"? hey, free speech, right? and when you're driving down the street, i'll put garbage cans in your way, and have a large group of dirty, hipster low lives stand infront of your car or bicycle what ever your stupid ass uses for transportation. yeah, protest, everyone has that right, but when you get stupid, you make your cause seem stupid. and your comment made you look even more stupid, so thanks for playing.

  • One time the police here in my neighborhood were dealing with the extreme scary situation of an old lady asking to see the badge number of the police officer she had a problem with. They responded of course with tazering the poor old lady...in front of her kids...in front of the entire apartment complex as well.

  • Vic thats nonsence, you know it - I know it. So shut the fuck up, thanks.

  • Ya good job actually addressing the issues douchebag.

  • Do you ever look up for a minute and see all those windows on those buildings?..well families and children and senior citizens live there..people with real jobs, not you trust fund types who feel willamsburg is your playground to get drunk in, act the fool be a poseur artist or whatever the hell you are. every night. people pissing on my door, waking me up at 2am screaming, broken beer bottles everywhere.

you hipsters don't give a shit about anyone but yourselves

  • fuckin dirty douchebag crackers.

    down with whitey

  • Yeah, I'm totally down with whitey.

  • Hey, "renerefos." Mind if I fuck your mom in the mouth? ;-)

  • your mom is so fat that when she stood on the scale it said:bitch i asked for your weight not your cell phone numba.

    bitch

  • Hey, "reneferos." Your Momma is SO ugly, bigfoot takes pictures of HER. ;-)

  • For those who posted negative comments and intentionally sided themselves with the police, are themselves retards

  • no douche bag, the retard are the group of morons (which i'm assuming you're a part of) in this video who were THROWING TRASH CANS, STOPPING TRAFFIC, AND DISTURBING THE REST OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD, GO BACK TO IOWA AND KILL YOURSELF!

  • Stopping traffic!!! DEAR GOD!! NOOO! We can't have that in these rat mazes we like to call cities. ARREST THE EVIL PROTESTERS!

Protesting is not what America is about! Never! Free speech?!? NOOO!! What is the Constitution? What is the Bill of Rights? We don't know we are stupid little sheep!! Baaaaa

  • Respect The Badge

  • @ respecthebadge

Respect is earned. Considering cops voluntarily sign up, arrest non-violent drug offenders, sending them to prison, and denying them their freedom for only possibly hurting themselves, I have no respect for cops.

That is the action of a thug with power not a principled man of conscience.

  • Your comment makes absolutely no sense. Perhaps you are one of those "non-violent drug offenders you speak of.

  • What part of that comment don't you understand? Cops arrest people for doing shit that affects no one except sometimes the people themselves.

  • "Working class traitor!"

You think that the fact that you've read Chomsky or Gramsci or whoever gives you the right to go around shouting such spurious BS?

What would you know about being working class you f--ks?! If only working class folks were privileged enough to live the farcical lives you all lead, sitting around all day affecting to live like bohemians but actually buying into all the upscale crap you supposedly despise.

    You people are unbelievable. Die.

  • HELL YEAH!

  • Hipsters are elitist types who moved from the midwest. They hate their parents and now we have to deal with their pseudo poseur artsy antics.

They basically look down on born here nyc middle class residents. They think they are all stupid.

  • well that's one way to deal with hipsters/gentrification...

  • ...big deal, the other day cops beat me into a comma (that i'm still in), for blinking too much.

  • also why the suprise that cops actually busted thier asses? I mean minorities get busted all the time just for looking like "thugs" etc..

but this folks basically take over a whole neighborhood, blocking traffic and what not.. what did they expect?

  • as a person raised in nyc.... and probably share the same interest as the participants in this "panda parade" I have to say....

this is whack, I mean its cool that they want to dress like pandas and what not... im cool with having fun but its not cool to block traffic and what not for what reason? the whole premise of this "protest" is a weak excuse just for some overgrown folks do dress up like pandas and get drunk in public.

  • Looks like a bunch of drunk monkeys with nothing better to do going apeshit, lock'em all up!

  • Frikken yupsters you guys are the worst..move to china you communist aholes! Choose a different animal next time..pandas are weak

  • Police brutality? This looks more like CIVILIAN BRUTALITY towards the Police to me.

  • Seriously, it's not like people don't ever have a chance to enjoy the Bedford, but your rights to dress up like a panda and play loud music do not trump the rights of some old lady riding the bus to get back home to greenpoint. I mean, they block Bedford every saturday until 7pm for "williamsburg walks" for public spaces, now they have to reroute traffic for a bunch of drunk kids with no understanding of the first amendment, with no warning? I guess there isn't a war or anything to protest.

  • I wonder if these douchey kids protesting will be protesting at the Carribean Day Parade on Aug. 31 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, against the TCOOO Productions Straight Pride march (to defend their reggae music promting the killings of gays and lesbians)? Then they'll be needing the cops to protect their butts.

  • it is new york city if you want peace and quiet move to the burbs!

  • Cops are not human beings. Kill cops, not people.

  • Why do people think it's OK to crowd streets, block traffic, and make a bunch of mess and noise on Bedford Ave? Believe it or not people actually live on that street. This isn't Disneyburg it's real life, and if you act like tools in public the cops are going to move you on or arrest you.

  • This wasn't Sunday night in a quiet residential neighborhood. This was Saturday night in barhopping Williamsburg. The cops are going to move in and arrest you for having a party outside of the constraints of capitalism and police control. I guarantee that the same amount of noise and people cosigned by corporate sponsors and rent-a-cops would never be questioned.

  • Because they'd have permits dumbass.

  • Seriously, the panda thing was a bunch of liberal arts kids pseudo protesting nothing for the hell of it, but 10 police cars and 2 police helicopters? There have been all out street gang assaults in my part of Bushwick, and when i call 911, they show up 2 hours later and drive away, not arresting anyone. Here's an idea, why don't you protest that, with throwing an useless street parade not on bedford, but in a part of the city that needs attention. Of course, you'd probably get chased out...

  • But if they took care of the gangs then you wouldn't need the police now would you?

And if people could openly congregate and get together in any other occasion than a state sponsored parade or carnival then our lives would also be much different and once again, wouldn't need police to protect isolated indiviuals from roving gangs.

  • Seriously? You think crime is a result of the fact that you cannot openly congregate? There was a block party on my street, 10x as loud and as big as the panda one, same night, but the cops didn't bust it down because they got a permit. They rerouted bus traffic, and people had a good time. The next day, I saw (and have footage of) some of the same people chasing a guy down the street with a baseball bat. If only they could have partied more. No cops here, so you can't call it a police state.

  • I would argue that alot of crime is a result of our isolated lives, when we don't even know our next-door neighbor or have a sense of community we don't even know who we could turn to anyway, and I, along with many others, don't trust the police, and I don't know how it is for you in NY, but here we have gang shootings as well as cops shooting civilians all the time. And... did you say "I guess there isn't a war to protest"?

Yes, the war is still on, and also other things in our lives count.

  • i live in nyc.

    i know my downstairs neighbor.

    i don't trust the police.

everyone blocking traffic and attacking cars should have been arrested.

  • Every one screaming has no idea what their screaming about. Kinda feel sorry for the dude that got arrested, he got arrested because douchebags were disturbing the peace.

You know there are people who live on Bedford Ave. that didn't want to hear some midwestern liberal arts graduates having a bullshit riot.

  • 0_o im a panda dont tase me bro

  • 9/11 has nothing to do with this. good cops are good cops, bad cops are bad cops, & these cops were not being good cops. Doing your duty in the face of a national crisis does not give you card blanche to abuse your power when you find it convenient

stuff like this & the recent assault at the critical mass bike rally damage the reputation of the NYPD & its a damn shame.

The guy arrested is my friend and wasn't doing anything. he was arraigned for inciting a riot and resisting arrest. nonsense.

  • HAHAHAHA, this shit was hilarious.

Basically all this shit started in Union Square. There were all these douchebags dressed up as pandas. They annouce to the crowd that they would be taking people to the party spot, and free beer would be waiting for us. The train ride was hilarious, it basically hipsters gone wild. But anyways, the party lasted for 5 to 10 minutes. Then the cops came and some pandas became extinct. So, they relocated the "party", which turned into a bullshit riot.

  • after the cops crazy and unending overreaction yes people were yelling at them.

A cop pushed and took down a camera guy who was just taking pictures.

terrible to think of all the real crimes that were happening all over the city, they wasted not only taxpayer money but SO MANY cops that could have been dealing with rapists and robbers.

they acted like thugs and created a scary situation in reaction to people dancing in the street. very sad, very sick.

  • The police had tons of cop cars, even undercover police, firetrucks, helicopters, and massive amounts of cops, their response was totally out of line and absurd, and created a very aggressive atmosphere. They were aggressive and hostile for no reason.

I respect the police alot of times and they have a hard job. But in this case they were totally out of line and came out with so much force, as if there was some violent looting or going on.

  • I was walking down the street and came upon this, it was NOT a riot or protest, it was a party and people were dancing and having fun. I've lived here for 15 years. The police were TOTALLY OVERREACTING. they were outrageous

They didn't just break up the party, that would be one thing. Instead, they were extremely aggressive, taking out their batons, arresting people very aggressively- these were people dancing, not hurting anyone.

  • Why do the police always overreact? There were copters with spotlights and cops everywhere...it was awful.

  • PANDAS UNITE!!!!

  • this wasnt a protest, it was a party. no window was broken, no bottles were thrown until after the police attacked.

  • yeah that's a load of b.s.

  • i'm sorry, what window was broken? could you cite for me, maybe find some tangible piece of evidence that any window was broken? the only violence on the part of the pandas came after the police tried to interfere, and arrested a few of our ranks.

why would you be so blindly pro-cop? every single civil right you take for granted was attained through conflict with authority. the pandas were standing up for our every disappearing right to assemble, and now the pandas are forced to be anti-nypd.

  • I'm not blindly pro-cop. Last night I saw the police (whom are grossly underpaid) try to control a mob of spoiled rich kids in panda masks break as many street laws as they possibly can. And you are surprised they came? What makes you so entitled that you can have an unsolicited disruption in a quiet neighborhood w/o a permit? It sounds like you people need to grow up and get a real job. You are only 20 yrs old, I highly doubt you are as affected by gentrification as you say.

  • the "mob of spoiled rich kids" was trying to move and continue on its set path, the police attacked us and arrested the people who looked like the "leaders" in an attempt to disperse us. all it did was cause the situation to be completely chaotic. I still see no citation of broken windows. i'll wait on that, but until you can cite it, i'll just say don't talk shit, and don't make shit up.

also, my age and the EFFECT which gentrification has on my life are not even correlated.

  • most hipsters I know are working class kids that went to college...you have a media-distorted notion of what hipsters are.

  • That is completely wrong! There were so many kids in the police faces and outright jumping out into the middle of the street while they were trying to make room for public transportation! You were all drinking in the street! How is that okay? Why are the police NOT supposed to attack you when you are all acting like a bunch of drunks.

  • our freedom of assembly and freedom of speech protect both of those things. don't like it? find a new fucking country.

  • did you have a permit? and yes there was a broken window and 5 cars damaged, mine was one of the you fucking moron

  • my bad, forgot that the first ammendmant read "freedom of speech and assembly when convenient for, and given permission by the NYPD, the third largest standing army on earth. it's a shame your car was damaged, though i doubt it was that severe, or else some sort of media would have made note. it's a shame the police made the situation so hectic that the crowd had no organization and plummeted into complete chaos.

  • what was being protested? anything? just curious.

  • Dumb. A bunch of dopey white kids from the midwest protesting what now?

  • and seriously, what's so F'ed up about Brooklyn/NYC anyway? We are practically living in a Disney Land. The neighborhood (Williamsburg) used to be so crappy and dangerous. It's amazing how the area has turned around in recent years. What are you trying to prove?

  • thank god it's like disneyland, it feels great to gentrify a neighborhood. this isn't fun-zone, this is fucking new york. some of us grew up here, and some of us are effected by your hip lifestyle and manifest destiny eastward expansion. go back to whatever town you moved to new york from, we didn't want you to begin with

  • Really Champybh? Well now that I know that police officers have the right to attack a person for holding a boom box while standing on the sidewalk, smiling and swaying back and forth with the rhythm, I will keep my sinful music indoors always!

Also, given this new legal information that spraying one's friends with water is a crime, someone should really inform the water park industry that they are probably harboring 1,000 felons daily.

  • Im not quite sure how that is a retort to what I saw. People were jumping in front of traffic and forcefully getting up in the cops faces when they tried to make room for public buses. It's pretty disrespectful if you ask me... and dangerous. Also, throwing anything... water, beer bottles, etc at police officers trying to keep peace is not exactly cool. It's pretty douchey. I'm coming from a completely neutral stance. I saw what I saw, and it was ridiculous. You people were out of control

  • You people?! Now you've done it.

  • I happened to be peacefully walking by while these events occured. I stood and watched the protest for a good hour. Everyone should know that NYPD was well within the rights. The people protesting were a bunch of jack asses. They blocked traffic, broke a store window and threw water bottles at the cops. All police action was completely provoked and necessary. These people were trying to start a riot.

  • I was standing next to both the guy with the boombox and the girl who got tackled and possibly tased for sprinkling water on her friends.

NYPD, I'm pleased to see that you're doing your job. Way to keep emerging adults who are afflicted by this fucked up system from assembling, standing on streets and sidewalks, playing music at levels where other people might be inclined to dance, and preventing excessive dermal hydration. You are certainly the heroes America needs!

  • You like to talk bad about the NYPD? You're glad to see they're doing their job? What do you do for a living, hair? Way to make a difference LOLA, you really are a true American hero. And where were you on 9-11? I bet sitting home on your ass in front of the tv watching the worst catastrophe in history. Where was the NYPD/FDNY? That's right, risking their lives to save people maybe people you knew. You have some nerve... open your eyes and look at the big picture honey and thank them.

  • You have nerve bad mouthing the NYPD. They are the "heroes" America needs. What do you do for a living, hair? Way to make a difference LOLA. And where were you on 9-11sitting on your ass watching the worst catastrophe in history on tv? Where was the NYPD/FDNY? That's right, there saving people maybe even people you know. What do you think that moronic idiots can act any way they want and its acceptable? Move to a communist nation and then talk honey. Until then see the big picture.

  • a) your username alone shows your bias. nice.

    b) the fdny are heroes. they jump into burning buildings and save peoples fucking lives. daily.

    c) the nypd were given entirely too much credit for their role in the 9/11 rescues, the fdny and the unsung heroes, the EMS, are the real heroes.

    d) upon looking at your profile, you literally joined youtube with this ridiculous username JUST to make this comment. you sad, sad man. shouldn't you be facilitating a fascist takeover or something?

  • Ya jeremy you are right I did in fact just join and you looking so far into it and stalking my profile is very cute and flattering. It's a beautiful day. You should get out of the house and off the computer and enjoy your life and stop being so lame.

    Have a great day!!!

  • yeah dude, clicking your name with the center mouse button to open your profile in a new tab. what a cute, flattering but mildly creepy thing i did. woah, maybe i have some obsessive computer addiction. maybe i should get out of the house and do something! well, i did go out and try to have fun last night, but your boys fucked that up for me pretty bad. what are you, 12?

  • i'm happy this got up so quick - i was there.... thanks for putting this on youtube
