My hair has lots of layers too. You just have to pin pieces back with bobby pins more than other who don't have as many layers.

i frekin love ur hair. i always wanna wear a bun but my hair is naturally curly so it looks kinda stupid. also, i put hairspray in my hair and glazing gel and it makes my hair hard and hard to comb.

wow! so THAT's how you stick the bobby pins! just take a little bit of hair from side/top of bun, then stick them under the bun! i was having trouble with that...... the only problem is my hair's really slippery so pieces of hair starts sticking out like a rooster and then starts unraveling after an hour or two. =(

I just tried this out and it turned out great! The only change I made was making a braid out of the front section, seeing as my hair is pretty long and it wasn't cooperating as I was trying to pin it back. With the braid, I was able to pin it to the bun perfectly! Will be doing this for a friend's wedding next month. Thanks so much for this helpful tutorial!

Before i cut my hair, I did this all the time.

But I found it easier if, after I pulled all the hair up and twisted I just used another ponytail to hold it extra. And then used two or three bobbypins to hold the flyaways.
