Ok so here is my issue. I payed to have my 3gs jailbroken at some phone store by my house (10 bucks) so i dont know what he jailbroke it with but im pretty sure it was spirit.. I couldnt do it with red snow 0.9.5. I tried. Unless i did it wrong. So if i use this video to update my phone and jailbreak will it matter if maybe i didnt really use spirit to jailbreak?! Please help!! Thanks!!

have you heard of the problem with wifi sync? how it stops the restore?

that happend to me

now when ever i restore from dfu mode i get error 1611, and when i restore from recovery mode i get error 1604, any suggestions?

Thanks for the advice. I took the phone to ishoprepair.ca in Toronto, and within the hour had the phone fixed. The phone required a new LCD screen. Had I not jailbroken the phone I could have replaced it with apple. I now have 4.0 and still have my apple care for two years. *sigh of relief*

I have an old bootrom 3gs that got ios 4.0 put on it so there is no jailbreak on it anymore. What can I do to jailbreak? I tried sn0wbreeze but I got the itunes 1601 error. Is there anything to use or do I still have to wait? I also use a PC so the pwnage tool for Mac is a no go.

@mwturtle1 Thats why you got a 1601 error, you have to be ALREADY JAILBROKEN on 3.1.2 with something other than spirit or on 3.1.3 with spirit2pwn installed and then upgrade to the custom 4.0! And yeh if you don't have your SHSH files saved to downgrade then your stuck! For now... SORRY! please subscribe, I will make a video as SOON as there is a solution!
