  • I just want to justify that the song "誓言" is in the album of "胡思亂想", but not in the album of Sky"天空"

  • Silly MV, but beautiful voice.

  • @JenniferTaipei COLD PEOPLE MAKES THIS WORLD... AS YOU ..SILLY AND COLD

  • song reminds me of my ex gf... good song

  • i love the song very much, even it is a mehr than 10 years old one. but it really speak to me, still mean something to me.

  • It's about 17 yrs. old, I still love it every time I listen to it. It's like a classic.

  • While I can imagine when Faye was writing the lyrics at that time, she was describing her insecurities about the relationship with Dou Wei; but probably "foretelling" Dou Wei's with "At that moment I discovered That one day I walked past you and didn't catch your gaze" is completely coincidental!!

  • hi etcmail2047! thank you for that wonderful description of this song/mv! I never thought of this song the way you did - "combine musical elements from the East and West". I guess I grew up listening to Faye' songs that I just took this style of hers, including her signature la~la~la~, for granted :P

  • i like the music a lot =]

  • I disagree with the way etcmail (who posted message) interpreted the lyrics. The lyrics are actually about the bitter-sweet, mixed feelings and insecurities one has before committing to a relationship or marriage or being in love Its actually a very sweet and romantic song.

  • i love this song!

  • she has a unique voice that no other female singer can master.

  • brings back fond memories of my younger years, love you Wong Fei!

  • I don't think internationally people realize how difficult it is to "have your own style" in the Hong Kong music scene. Whether Wang Fei is original or not matter little. The style worked, both musically and visually. She is very influential and has brought less known artists, such as the Cocteau Twins, to the Asian audience.

  • Faye was so cute at that time.

  • This is so cute, she is so pretty and cute in this mv.

    Love it!!!!

  • yes, she should be back...

but she should have her own style, but no more Bjork, Cocteau Twins or Dolores of cranberries...

    -----------------------

She never liked Bjork. She only covered ONE song from Cranberries and that's almost 15 years ago.

Yeah she loved Cocteau Twins but she has already moved on long time ago.

  • FAYE大爱

  • I love the way she AAAAA at the end of the song, it is so amazing that a gilr like her back then can have such power and such expressiveness!

Bjork is good but not as 'human' as Faye

    B is too philosophical

  • She needs to sing again to save the music industry!

  • She probably sings in the shower. I heard she is pregnant again, baby due in April?

I am catching up to her works, a late start so to speak. Because in the USA she is unknown. But now I know about her and am probably her biggest fan on this continent!!!

  • Oh there are tens of thousands of Faye's fans in the USA from China:) Enjoy her music!

  • I love Faye too! and i live in Usa hehe we are 2 now.

  • this is my favourite song of faye. she expresses sorrows and anxieties seamlessly in this deceivingly light song (thx to dou wei's flute and faye's angelic vocals).

i'm al so a huge fan of Bjork. but i must stress that faye's music style is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. she's THE asia diva. timeless

  • music....faye wong....espression....inspiration...beauty....what more can we ask from contemporary music...faye wong=the crown of our time!!

  • she had the other version of Bjork swan dress in her budokan concert... so what? perhaps she's a fan of Bjork and she tried to introduce Bjorkism into the Eastern world.. there's nothing wrong to this...

anyway her musics are all that matters.. i cant imagine Bjork singing "Sky" or "Ambivalence" or "Wooden horse"

  • @twospade I think it's simply that her stylist was lazy and copied from Bjork. They copy a lot in Hong Kong. But the music is definitely original. And that's what matters.

  • i love faye style...

  • Thanks for putting this video on YouTube, etcmail2047. It's a great song! Thanks also for the explanation & lyrics. All these years of listening to her lovely voice, to be able to understand her pain is a sad but loving thing. Do you have any other of Faye's songs from "SKY"? I love that CD - it's my favorite of hers ... unfortunately, my SKY CD is packed away & I don't have access to it, so I can't hear my favorite Faye songs. Oh well, thanks again!

  • From her voice, I find strength and creativity for myself.. :) All ways love her. I truly believe that one's idol would have an great impact one's life. Especially the way of thinking and values.

  • Faye wrote the lyric herself, and she was also one of the composers. Amasing voice. Faye is the best. Who care about the Bjork crap.

  • *~I love this song!! :o)

  • It's absurd to blame Faye for the Bjork ripoff. She is, or was anyway, a creative genius. The fact that her handlers and producers were slavishly aping Western pop to make a buck certainly wasn't her fault - her career was just taking off and she had little control of her 'image' at that time.

  • The song was fantastic... still is...

the problem is Faye's people were adamant on having her lift an image and she chose Bjork to a "T"... AND it's blatant. It shouldn't take away from the brilliance of her music though. As she matured... her image changed.

  • No she didn't "choose" Bjork. Her stylist was a fan of Bjork....Faye simply agreed to try...as with everything else.

  • the song was fantastic... still is... people are caught up in the fact that she is totally ripping of bjork's presentation.

  • i love this song

  • cant believe ppl can still dig these old videos out and put it on youtube.

it was like 15 years ago.

    oh.. i love faye

  • yah, didn't we know she used to be a chinese bjork? i said used to...

  • Happy Birthday, Faye! :-)

  • Typical HK..not bad song or video (kind of great song in fact), but video is bad fudge job of Wong Kar-wai movies and Bjork - not only hairstyle, but whole of video, clearly aping vid for 'Big Time Sensuality' which was about a year old at the time. Substitutes 'kooky singer on truck' for 'kooky singer on foot' is all. Typical HK, the only cool stuff is stealing cool stuff from the west.

  • This song has nothing to do with HK. It was co-written by Faye Wong and her ex-husband, Dou Wei, A Chinese mainland musician.

  • The first two signs in the title mean "Faye Wong", right?

  • Thank you very much! Very good sound quality!

  • I love her, that's me all alone on a beautiful day with a mind I'm trying to free.

I love Faye, I truly love her.

  • did Wong Kar Wai direct this MV?

  • no, I believe it's Susie Au?

  • I love this song. tho she sounds like she's out of breath, like her voice isn't strong enough, even though it is obviously

  • the song is amazing!

  • Nice Faye!

You did a great job! etcmail2047.

  • Beautiful song! Cool hairstyle she has.

  • she's on crack

  • Thanks for the explanation. Now I know why such an unusual love song from a pair of husband & wife!

  • good one!

  • That was the first Faye video I have ever seen, still sound so good after all these years.

  • one of my favorite video of hers.

  • kinda creepy looking
